Restaurant Le Troquet

We were fortunate to have been recommended this place because it was one of the best meals we'd had in a long time. We had the three course menu. Excellent quality and delicious food. It is reasonable though not inexpensive. And the service was perfect. Friendly and efficient. We will definitely go back if we're in the area.

Le Troquet is an easy-going little restaurant at the Cancale harbor front. We had a mixed terre et mer starter platter which consisted of oysters (obviously - you are in Cancale), shrimps, bigorneau, paté and salad. For mains we had an Assiete de Fruits de Mer and Gambas Risotto. Do not miss to take a desert. The tarte de citron was one of the best I ever had. The wine list is nice, we had a white 2019 Passac-Leognant Bordeaux, which could cope well with the food. Add to this nice food a very friendly service and reasonable prices, and you find a very nice dining experience. Fully recommendable.

Food was great although rather pricy. Service was below expectations. Their main goal is to make profit, instead of offering great restaurant experience. For having two little dogs, known at reservation, we were treated like second rate customers. When we mentioned this after dinner, once again they were rude. Advice for the restaurant: organize self service buffet.

Cute restaurant on the sea front with nice terrasse! We went for breakfast at 10.10am, but unfriendly staff ignored us for 25 minutes and then came and said that breakfast had ended at 10.30am, because they were "in a rush" to set the tables for lunch... at 10.30am... I know the french eat lunch early but that was at least an hour away, totally unnecessary! They allowed us to order the scraps they had left, which were 2 pain au chocolats and bread and jams! The drinks were also overpriced, could have been a lovely experience, but ruined by us feeling really uncomfortable with the staff! Dissapointment

Really great service! The staff were very friendly and accommodated us and our baby very nicely, even making a special plate of vegetables for our little girl, food was excellent, bouillon de crevettes was delicious followed by a very tender beef steak. Thank you. We will be back! :)
