Came here as a party of 6 on a very rainy night without a reservation. The team were wonderful in getting us seated under a set of umbrellas. One noticed we were getting dropped on and kindly moved us without us even asking. The service and food were both amazing! We even contemplated going back the next night. When we're back in Avignon, we will definitely return here!

What a great restaurant with the perfect old town atmosphere! So happy with the service and food. The staff are very friendly and attentive. We enjoyed our 3-course meals with great quality and reasonable price. Highly recommend this restaurant!

This place is such a beauty! Quiet courtyard in front of a church. Food was amazing and the environment was so good. Service was amazing as well.

I came to this place twice on successive nights. It is among the best restaurants I went to in my entire two weeks in France. Lovely ambience at night, behind the church . Quiet and peaceful. The food is incredible, the ceviche is the best I’ve ever had . The sardine tart was incredibly tasty too. Highly recommend this place for dinner and wine to anyone in Avignon .

Quick lunch on a rainy September Sunday. Friendly and efficient service. Had the sardines tarte served with salad. Tasty and nice texture. A good experience.

Absolutely wonderful meal! All four of us loved what we each ordered. Food was delicious, the server was excellent and is a university student. The next day we ran into each other in the shopping area and he gave recommendations for other stores and entertainment. Just a fabulous atmosphere and experience.

Delicious food and lovely staff. Our waitress was very patient in taking orders from our big chaotic group. The food was rustic and filling. A great find!

Yelp
Enjoyed tremendously. Chose two (2) starters for plat (main meal) and spouse had the L'Epicere (grocer's) plate. Starters were cerviche of redfish & old tomatoes w/burrata cheese. All were carefully prepared, delicious and the service was attentive. As tourists, we want to try many tastes (lean toward tapas) and the L'Epicere plate provides that at a good value. This appears to be popular with locals & tourists so reservations are recommended.

Yelp
One big disappointment! This was one of the worst meals my husband and I have ever had. It was our 18th anniversary and I especially wanted to eat here. Horrible! I had Guinea Fowl and my husband had Lapin. We had the same comments. Food was served barely warm--almost cold, all of it--potatoes and veggies included. Meats were over cooked and tough. Service was poor. He never asked if we were enjoying our meal--no conversation at all. He never even asked why I had only eaten a few bites of my meal. Sadly, there were several people waiting in line almost for seating. I really wanted to tell them to save their money and go to our favorite little restaurant for pizza and Italian which is a block away and half the cost. Don't waste your money.

Yelp
This place is so special! Despite having only 4 days in Avignon, we went twice because we loved it. You walk through tall, stone walls that open up to a beautiful courtyard, where there are tables. I believe it's all outside, no inside dining I could see. Service was prompt and friendly. I got the lamb, which was very moist and very tasty! My husband had a steak and was happy. As it became dark, the ancient church lit up with soft lights. It was magical; we loved this place.

Yelp
My cabaillard with a cream sauce was delicate and tasty, a very nice fish dish. The black rice was a unique (and good) accompaniment. My wife and friends had chicken, also with a tasty, darker sauce, Service outside in a pleasant square was good. The menu was a bit limited and metal chairs not very comfortable. Making a reservation by email was helpful.

Yelp
4.5. Four of us had dinner here on our 4th night in Avignon. Great experience and food. Hope to be back. AMBIANCE: 4.5. Dined outside in a small, intimate square. No other restaurants. Next to a church that was beautifully illuminated after dark. Best of all, no cars or other motorized vehicle drove through this square, so it was both quiet and free of fuel odors. SERVICE: 4.5. VERY patient with my poor French. Prompt, and service was always delivered with a smile. FOOD: 4.0 - D'agneau stew with apricots (lamb stew) - 5.0. I love lamb and this was outstanding. The apricots in the stew created a very pleasant taste. - Cod. - 4.0. - Vegetarian linguini - 4.5. - Mediterranean salad - 4.0. Excellent simple dressing. Roast zucchini very good. - Cheesecake - 4.0 - Chocolate cake with caramel dressing - 5.0. Caramel came separate and one poured it over the rich dark cake. House red wine - 4.5

Yelp
Little restaurant in a beautiful setting in front of a church in Avignon. Good menu with a decent selection of different foods. Service for us was good and attentive. Food was quite good.

Yelp
Superb food in a great location. The restaurant gets very busy so booking is advisable. We saw lots of people turned away as most tables were reserved. Very attentive staff, varied menu with something to suit everyone. Reasonably priced. Would highly recommend this place and will certainly visit again if in Avignon.

Yelp
We have been traveling in France for 2 weeks now, and this was the best food we've had yet ;) The prices are reasonable, the table wine perfect, the service with a smile and the little square couldn't be more charming. I hope to go back one day!

Yelp
I think this was the best meal I had during my two weeks in France. My steak had a foie gras sauce. HEAVEN. The side dishes were also well done - one was quite like a ratatouille with a crumble topping; also roasted tomatoes, and quite crispy traditional cut potatoes. We also really enjoyed the entree, which I think was called L'assiete d'epicerie (the epicerie plate). It was a generous plate, which easily served two. It had a variety of items like proscuitto-melon, goat cheese puff, hummus, tapenade, etc. The courtyard is quiet and private. A truly excellent meal!

Yelp
A local recommended this place to us, it's tucked away next to a beautiful church in Place Saint Pierre. We sat outside- ordered the prawn dish (prepared with Asian flair and very good), a plate with small portions of many things to share (the melon with ham was especially fantastic and fresh), and the mozzarella with tomatoes as a shared appetizers. All of this in in itself was lovely and delicious. But then, the veal dish. Served with couscous and apricots, it truly was THE ORDER. We sat outside and enjoyed the sun going down. It felt like a slice of heaven. Musicians stopped by and played acoustic music while everyone eating outside basked in the delicious food and surreal live music experience. Stop by, enjoy some french food and ask for butter for the baguette bread!

Yelp
We stopped by this place while driving through provence for lunch and it was lovely. They had already closed the outdoor/courtyard seating so we sat inside which was quite simple yet cozy. The service was prompt and friendly. We all ate the grilled fish on the menu and loved it - it was cooked perfectly and was served with veggies and potato au gratin. One of my friends had the beef and liked it too - a little heavy though. So, all in all - perfect place for a simple delicious meal!

Yelp
It was ok. We went here because of several recommendations. The food was fine. Nothing truly inspired. The endive tart was interesting and the duck breast with the fruit sauce was pretty good. My steak was ok. The mushrooms on top were good. Wouldn't make a special trip to come back.

Yelp
This place is set in a beautiful location but the service is dreadful. The waitress is rude and she won't let you seat anywhere unless she tells you where and if you don't like the table she won't even consider do anything to accomodate your preference or offer an explanation. Really bad client service.

Yelp
Had seen this place a few times and it was always packed. Seeing the reviews we decided to give it a go. The waitress we got didn't seem too enthusiastic to assist with the menu / ordering (we don't speak French fluently). She was fine with other people, so maybe we did something? Who knows???However we managed to order and the food was great! We sat outside which was nice as all the tables were candle-lit. Overall enjoy the place and would come back.

Yelp
They serve delicious cuisines. I was in Avignon for 2 days and I went to this restaurants twice; oh yeah! They also serve good wine -no wonder, it's in France!

Yelp
This place was just ok-not great but not terrible T any stretch. We were able to get in without a reservation which was fab and the setting is very lovely. However the food was very pricey for the quality compared to other Avignon restaurants.

Yelp
Overlooking a gorgeous square, this place deserves all the praise it gets. We had a late dinner here and ordered two of their signature plates. The food was simply amazing. Fresh and plentiful produce, combined in interesting and delicious ways. The staff was efficient and attentive. Highly recommended.

Yelp
We enjoyed a midday lunch after hours of exploring Avignon, on their lovely outdoor terrace in a square next to a church. Many others clearly had the same idea, as the place was rather packed, but we did manage to get a table for ourselves! We'd eaten so many multicourse meals, we wanted to eat a bit lighter today, so my husband got a plat for himself (a wonderful stew, may have been the plat du jour) - there's no menu online so I'm not exactly sure what, but it was gorgeous. I got a big mixed plate of provencal specialities that I'll never be able to recall in full! It was a large salad plate with sliced meat, a crock of warm cheese with various herbs and things, a big melon slice, mushrooms, bacon wrapped around creamy brie, a curry wrap, various bruschettas slathered in sauces (I remember a flavorful tomato sauce and a very unique and beautiful fennel/anchovy sauce), and a cold carrot/orange soup of sorts in the middle.... there was probably more! But it all went wonderfully with the French bread, used the bounty of local produce, and apparently represented food typical of the region, which is what I really wanted to try. It was a little pricey, but a great way to get a lot of fresh food with bright flavors, instead of the usual heavy French fare.

Yelp
Lovely little restaurant in beside Sainte-Pierre church. Fills up quickly, reservations recommended. Large portions, the duck was excellent
