Restaurant Les Arcenaulx Marseille Vieux Port

The food here was incredible. The bouillabaisse and the cuttlefish "casserole" were unbelievable. I was surprised by the portions. The orange blossom creme Brule was great too. I docked one point on service (not from overall) because we sat there for a solid 15 minutes before anyone came to our table for drink orders despite it being start of dinner service and there being only one other table and 5 to 6 servers hanging st the front chatting. Otherwise everything was amazing!

I chose Les Arcenaulx as the place to experience my first bouillabaisse in Marseille and wasn’t disappointed. I’ve never tasted fish so fresh and the soup itself had great depth. Also loved the selection of grown-up ice cream desserts and great service.

Went to try the classic Bouillabaisse on our last dinner in Marseille and after searching around on maps, this seemed like a pretty good choice. It was saltier than expected but there was a lot of seafood in the soup. Definitely interesting but we don’t have much to compare with so I can’t say if it’s good or not. The restaurant’s interior was interesting too!

We had a pretty good experience. The switch between speaking English and French was great from the staff, very professional and helpful. Great bouillabaisse, I recommend it. The library interior was a nice theme of a restaurant as well.

The decoration of the restaurant is special, I feel that I was dining in a bookstore. This is the first time for me being in Marseille and tried Bouillabaisse. The soup is with lots of seafood flavors and soft fishes. You can dip the bread with mustard into the soup, that is amazing.

Really wanted to like it. Great customer service and the atmosphere and ambiance is wonderful but the food is nothing impressive. Bouillabaisse is one of my favorite dishes and this one was probably my least favorite … almost tasted old and reheated. Our daughters pasta was also very bland and my husband’s steak was over cooked. So definitely not what I’d expect at such an expensive spot. We also ordered a bottle of a 2018 wine and they brought us the wrong year and opened it before we could take a look at the bottle. My son’s veal was good though and so was the cuttlefish appetizer, although very small portion.

Great food great service great ambiance! The bouillabaisse was delicious - five types of fish cooked in a scrumptious broth. The Thai styled tuna tartare was also surprisingly good! The olives tapenade was simple but delicious! Highly recommended!

Avoid. Wr arrived to a table booked inside at 8.30pm and after 30mins of being seated in a back room we received no visit of service, and no menu nor service of any kind, and so we decided to walk out. I believe sitting inside was a mistake, but there was no tables available outside. The music and decor was handsome, but the service inexplicably lamentable — so regrettable was the service that nobody noticed us walk out. A poor choice overall, as the food looked decent. Avoid if they offer you a table inside.
