Customer service was good. The environment is cosy. In regards to food, the appetizer was good, main course was above average. The dessert was average. We had Moroccan tea at the end which was a good way to end the evening, and the taste of it was good (although if you've been to Morocco, the tea there is better of course).

Google
Cozy venue, great service and awesome food. The first thing that impressed us was the venue - a small restaurant, nicely and warmly decorated, where you feel welcomed. We sat inside, but tables are available also outside. The waiter welcomed us, promptly bringing fresh water, walking us through the menu options (various choices, not too many - good sign!) and took the order, which arrived in a very reasonable time (restaurant was full). The food was simply amazing: well presented, perfectly prepared and delicious. In three people we had two starters to share, three tajin, one portion of cous cous, and the selection of desserts to share. That was more than enough. Try the Maroccan chardonnay (a nice surprise). A couple of food whiskey (Oban and Macallan). 192 euro for three people, including 70 eur of alcohol (wine and two Macallan).

Booked in advance, got a nice table for 2 outside in the quiet street. The service was pretty smooth and the food excellent. Really worth a visit

Google
A cozy French Moroccan spot in De Pijp. The menu is delicious. We tried the chicken tagine and grill platter, both of which were wonderful. The place fills up fast so a reservation is recommended.

Yelp
Delicious Moroccan in De Pijp, in a hip and lively atmosphere. We enjoyed two pastries as starters - one with tuna, and one with chicken and sultanas. Wow! I'd happily have enjoyed another round of each. The flavors were nuanced and so well calibrated. We had tagine and meat couscous as main courses - both were hearty with ton of flavor. Including a bottle of wine, our meal came to 100 euros. Totally worth it!

Yelp
This place is a winner. I would totally come back and bring friends. The place is bistro charming but has a white table cloth elegance. The flavors, temperature and texture were spot on. The salad was huge for a side dish and had a wonderful mix of greens, olives, hearts of palm, beets . The flavors are totally Mediterranean as well as fresh and bright. The duck confit was full of flavor, very tender and a bit sweet. The sweet potato side was a bit salty but not too bad. The lamb tagine was a generous portion of tender and most lamb shoulder Again, the sauce is very rich, so getting a side of cous cous is key. Overall a great experience.

Yelp
OMGGGGG!! I have no words... All the positive reviews about this place are absolutely true. Our whole night was perfect from the appetizers to the main all the way till dessert. We just kept oooh-ing and aah-ing all night. If you're a fan of good fusion cuisine this is the best one ive been to so far!!!! Five stars for the service for the cleanliness of the kitchen and how calm the kitchen staff was. Trust me it makes a big difference... Will definitely come again and again!!

Yelp
This is the best French-Marrocan restaurant in Amsterdam. The food is excellent and the service outstanding. We were with a group of nine and he gave us the signature menu of the chef. We started with some bread and special humus and for our first course I chose the coquille. It was superb. The sister of my girlfriend had the tompoes with figs and goatcheese. Also excellent. For our main course we had Karous a spicy seabass filet with couscous and my girlfriend had the Tagine d'agneau. This is lam with prums and coriander! I tasted both and the lam was very tasty and tender and the fish was perfect. We had a grand dessert with Hadia, Crème Brûlée, ice Cream and fruits. I will be back again for more and I highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
I had dinner here a few weeks ago after months and months of raving from friends who had labelled this their favourite restaurant in Amsterdam. Thank the lucky skies, when all the stars aligned and we managed to squeeze dinner in one night! And squeeze we did, as we managed two starters, two mains, a side of bread (with their hummus which.. oh god. I could have happily eaten just this with all of the bread with an extra side of bread), two (incredible) G&T cocktails and a bottle of red. At this point in the evening, full to bursting, in the corner of my mind- I was planning my next visit which involved dessert and more cocktails! And yes, the food was exceptional. From all my friends yammering, everything on the menu is worthy of mention. So I'll leave it there for all of you to make up your own minds. Shout out to the sole waiter who was dashing around like a dancer, making sure everyone was happy and everyone was full! What a delightful little experience at a random spot in De Pijp!

Yelp
Mamouche is hands down one of my favorite restaurants in Amsterdam. Over the years, the quality of food and service has stayed up, unlike many other places in the area. It is great for a dinner with friends, lovers and parents alike. Though the place gets labelled as Moroccan, the dishes (as well as staff) are from allover the Maghreb region. So, I would describe it as elevated Maghreb cuisine. You can chose from a plethora of starters and mains. I highly recommend the liver, as well as the oven scallops. They also serve a dish of the day. During my last visit, it was a lamb shank and it was crazy delicious! Also, you can go for the Chef's 3 course menu. The chef makes dishes of his choice, which can also differ across tables on the same evening....Which I thought was quite fun :D Feeling adventurous, I went for it, and I was absolutely not disappointed. I had an amazing fish tajine, and the desert was a creme brûlée, so I was happy. As for the wine, while they did not have the rose they have on their menu, they had a great substitute, also from the South of France. So I was very pleased.

Yelp
Mamouche is a wonderful, big restaurant in the De Pijp area in Amsterdam. My boyfriend and I stopped in here for dinner because it's quick close to both the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum. If it's a nice day, there's wonderful outdoor seating across the pedestrian walkway outside of the restaurant. We ordered an appetizer to share and an entree each. I can't remember the exact names of each dish, but all the food was incredible! The service is quick, the staff is friendly, and we were able to make it to the museum exactly when we needed to. They also serve homemade bread and hummus to start, both of which were great! My favorite dish was actually the appetizer, which was tuna and potatoes wrapped in phyllo dough. Definitely a must try!

Yelp
Service Absolutely Terrible... Made reservation for 2 Arrived at 8 pm ..got served drinks at 830pm Starter at 9 pm Mains served 10:40 pm and only because we asked repeatedly why two fish dishes were taking so long Got served a tagine dish that had been clearly sitting for a very long time under the heat lamp..my companion said the server had been wandering around the patio trying to figure out who ordered it. Normally we would have left after 1 hour without a server checking in on the table to see if you wanted but it was a celebration dinner and I did not want to make a scene 100 Euros for 2 with wine = FAIL

Yelp
What a great find! We love Moroccan cuisine and were thrilled to find this little gem. A great romantic dinner during a short stay in Amsterdam! I would recommend reservations. We started with the Chicken Bastilla then had the Lamb Tangine and cous cous. The flavors were amazing and we would highly recommend a visit!

Yelp
Great great food but must plan at least 2+ hours for dinner and double confirm your reservation! We arrived for our 8pm reservation made online but they did not have our name on the list or a table ready. They were able to prepare a table for us and we were seated by 8:30 after witnessing 2 other couples with reservations being asked to wait and one sent away because there was no possibility to prepare a table. The waiter did not offer a cocktail for the long wait and some of the cocktails on the menu couldn't be ordered as ingredients were missing. We ordered pretty quickly after being seated but did not actually receive our main course until 10:15 pm!!!! There is a clear view into the kitchen and we were able to watch the cook who did prepare everything from scratch and fresh, and as I said, it was truly delicious, but such a wait is a bit too much. seeing that 3 couples had reservations and none of us were listed is a bit concerning especially when in Amsterdam for only a short stay. So, if you have an entire evening to spare and can ensure your reservation is confirmed by the restaurant (not just online reservation website), this is a must go to if you like Moroccan food. If the food had not made up for the long wait i would have given a score of 1 star!

Yelp
A friend and I visiting from California ate here and enjoyed it greatly. Top notch and friendly service and flavors. Lamb tagine absolutely wonderful. Same with dessert.

Yelp
This is my favorite restaurant in Amsterdam. The interior design is perfection (notice how the light coming through the slate wood on the ceiling is reminiscent of walking through the medina in Fez, Morocco. And the food- my family lived as foreigners in Morocco for ten years and my dad still says this is the best Moroccan food he's ever had. Yes, he's a bit dramatic :-) They do Moroccan/French fusion perfectly. I'm drooling as I type. Looking to celebrate a special occasion or splurge on a nice dinner- this restaurant is always my number 1 recommendation. And the whole experience is so classy. The staff is very professional and yet kind and warm. Try one of the bottles of wine from Morocco- perfect.

Yelp
Great place, very good service. Definitely try their special appetitive with rose leaf in it!

Yelp
Nice little Moroccan restaurant. Excellent dishes with very nice presentation and excellent taste. Take your time, because having starter, main and dessert will take 3 hours, and enjoy every moment of it.

Nesrin E.

Yelp
Delicious!! Recommended to me by a Moroccan coworker and it definitely did not disappoint. We tried the lamb tagine, but definitely want to go back for the duck! The friendly owner explained to us how they prepare it and I can't wait to taste it! :) We sat outside and really enjoyed it there.

Yelp
If you would like to experience French-Moroccan cuisine in a relax and romantic atmosphere this is definitely the place to go. From the moment you walk in you feel very welcomed. You can expect personalized and very attentive service and tasty, beautifully prepared and served dishes. My all time favorite is Confit Maison! Also, try the mille feuille of figs, goats cheese and avocado with an orrange dressing. After the meal don't forget to ask for delicious coffee martini. Enjoy!

Yelp
Mamouche was a fantastic find--attentive, friendly service, romantic and soothing atmosphere, and best of all, inventive, delicious French-Moroccan food. We tried as many things as possible: the B'astille, the gambas and the coquille st. jacques appetizers, and the tartines and couscous for dinner. The coquille was unlike any other I've had, like a cross between traditional coquille with its creamy, nuttiness, and a ceviche. Light and tasty. Our B'astille--a pastry covered chicken with cinnamon and almonds--was a meal in and of itself. the tartines, lamb and chicken, were each distinct and complex. Not anything we planned on for Amsterdam, but it made our trip very special and memorable.

Yelp
Amazing Moroccon cuisine. A bit expensive, dishes exclusively made. The lamb/mutton dish was great. Don't go without reservation as the restaurant has limited seats. Recommended
