What a great location for our special night out. A perfect evening from start to finish. Beautiful patio. Great service. And the best duck I've ever had. My wife's salmon was equally amazing. Cooked to perfection. The scallops that came with her salmon tasted like they came straight from the ocean.

Our group of five all enjoyed our beautifully prepared and delicious dishes : maple leaf farm duck breast, salmon with scallops, organic chicken breast, asparagus and shrimp appetizers …. I only wish we had an appetite for dessert! The staff was friendly, warm and welcoming. We sat outside in the magical covered patio with thunder and lightning around us. We were offered blankets and inside seating but we were thrilled with the ambience, good vibes, and delectable food and drinks. Hats off the Chef Martin and his crew! Thank you for our most memorable and delicious night in Santa Fe!

I canceled three reservations before settling on Martin Restaurant, and I’m so glad I did. I chose it because it wasn't far from the concert I was attending afterward. When I arrived, the small parking lot was full, but I found a spot in the overflow lot down the street. Once inside, the restaurant felt like an old converted house—charming and cozy. The staff was warm and inviting, and I was seated right away for my 5 PM reservation. I didn’t realize it was Restaurant Week, so the menu was a well-curated but limited selection from their usual offerings. The service was impeccable, with perfectly timed courses, and the food was fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. I’d love to come back and treat my parents to a wonderful dining experience. 10/10!

Restaurant Martin in Santa Fe is a hidden gem that offers a truly special dining experience. The atmosphere is both elegant and relaxed. From start to finish, the service was attentive and friendly, making you feel well taken care of. Every dish was amazing. I tried the special which was the Sea Bass, which was absolutely divine. The dish was rich, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Another standout was the Black Angus Prime Beef Tenderloin. It was tender, juicy, and beautifully complemented by the Yukon Gold potato-bacon paillasson and mushroom-bacon duxelle. The flavors were so well balanced, and the presentation of each dish felt like a work of art. So we had to take photos. Their menu offers a variety of creative dishes that showcase local ingredients with a modern twist. Every bite was crafted with care and precision, leaving you excited to try the next course. It is a must stop if you go to Santa Fe, for a nice quiet and delicious experience.

The food is the star, but the service made the experience. It was personable and informative but not overwhelming. The atmosphere was the cherry on top. Comfortable and authentic. Recommend and will be back.

Restaurant Martin was a delightful stop on my road trip. It was a much needed moment of comfort. The food was delicious, the staff were friendly, and the atmosphere was very calm and relaxing. The flavor combinations of their dishes here felt both familiar and new all at the same time. I highly recommend giving this spot a try if you want a nice cozy date night, or just want to have something a bit fancier to eat than a normal night out.

This remains an absolute favorite in Santa Fe, even more so after dinner last night. Our drinks and food were superb. The salmon, for example, was perfectly cooked and served with a bacon, corn, scallop misfire that had an elegant smokiness to it. And our evening was made that much better by a very professional and extremely engaging waiter, Edward. At our request Edward (a former tour and mountain guide and a Saga Fe resident of 30+ years), shared with us fascinating history of the area and a brief seminar on the architectural periods of Santa Fe’s growth and the social and political context behind it. We continue to come here every time we are in town. The kitchen is so creative and skilled and the environment a real treat. Thanks to all.

We dined at Restaurant Martin (RM) this week during our annual trip to Santa Fe, NM. Our first dinner this trip, and what a treat. All the staff are amazing… friendly, attentive, but not intrusive. Seleste was our waitress, and she did a GREAT job! Thank you Seleste! The restaurant is cool and cozy, with dining areas and tables spaced so each table has a bit of privacy. They place a little business card on your table with the server’s name and a little bio… very nice. The food and drinks were exquisite! We started with a couple of cocktails, Lavender Haze and Tequila Twilight… both were delicious! The bread served is $3/person, but well worth it. Awesome thyme butter on the side, and there is a hot rock in the bread bowl to keep the bread warm! For the appetizer, we shared the asparagus and prosciutto salad… sublimely good! Our entrees were the chef seafood special, barramundi, and the prime beef tenderloin. Per our usual practice, we each ate 1/2 of our entree and we swapped plates. The fish was expertly prepared and the steak perfectly grilled. Both dishes were on point! We shared the soft chocolate-espresso pave for dessert, heaven on a plate! A bottle of Veuve Clicquot rounded out the dinner, dunked in an ice bath, and was as good as ever. The restaurant’s wine list is extensive, something for everyone, both Old World and New. Highly recommend Restaurant Martin, 5 Stars across the board!

Yelp
I wanted to try some of the most noted chefs' restaurants while in New Mexico. I found Chef Martin Rios, the multiple James Beard award winning chef's restaurant was five minutes from my resort. Perfect. I came in at 5:40 on a Friday and it was empty. But people started slowly coming in. The restaurant really had no ambiance to me but maybe because there were only four tables of diners? The floors creaked. The vibe and decor was like a house set up for a dinner party. Zoey, my server was nice. I noticed she asked everyone else if they wanted their coat hung up except for me. Noted. She also explained to me only that Barramundi was a fish. Zoey if you're reading this, I'm part Asian. I know what it is. I heard her announce the specials at other tables without the explanation that it was fish. Ouch. Anyways the beet salad was amazing!!! Best dish. The short rib was over cooked and the crispy mushrooms were delicious! I would come here again and get an entree next time but I was sampling food in other areas in one day so I settled for apps and a side.

Yelp
Oh dear, where do I start? How about being ignored for 10 minutes? Finally, a "manager" took our drink order. We were celebrating our 38th anniversary and most high end restaurants will offer a complimentary glass of bubbly. Not this place. The interior of the restaurant is very dated. Posters of nothing on plain white walls. We were seated in "Siberia", the room with extremely high booth backs. We could see the folks across from us and that's all - oh, unless you consider the ridiculous lights running horizontally on the bar (where no one was sitting). Why should they, it's tucked into a closet. I'd never sit in there, ever! I digress. When our server/bartender finally arrived with our martinis, they were just OK. This establishment uses local distillers only, so us Grey Goose lovers were disappointed. My wife and I always share, we ordered the short rib starter. Probably just reading the words made you think about how delicious short ribs can be. Not this place. I would almost bet grandma's estate these were prefab from one of the big food suppliers. Our next course was the Scottish salmon. What a joke. The only thing Scottish were the words on the frozen fish box, again from a big food supply house. Another reviewer said the food was nothing more than what one might get at a country club. That was being generous. No inspiration, imagination, or flavor. Now one might expect a wee dessert sample on a plate with Happy Anniversary scrolled in chocolate. Forget about it in this place. No one, specially the chef could not have been bothered. Just another drudgery in the "coal mine". I understand the EC/owner has been around for forty years, well dear sir, give it up. You've had your day in the sun. Or! Let someone help you with updating your restaurant, menu, and flavors. Get rid of the aluminum framed front doors as a minimum!

Yelp
BLUF: Restaurant Martin offers a higher-end continental experience, but fails to deliver for the price point. My impression was that Restaurant Martin is resting on a reputation it earned years ago and persists because of an upscale facade (and bland delivery) that appeals to Santa Fe's older demographic. I felt that the cocktails were very average for restaurant near old town Santa Fe--really nothing special despite the higher end price tag (nearly $20 for most cocktails) The food was really just okay. I thought the plating was dated and fussy. The sort of stuff you'd see in the mid 2000's. Things tasted okay, but I felt like the flavours and ingredients were like run-down country club food. Service was a bit weird, there was some awkward back and forth between the server and a couple members of our party. Honestly not something I really place much weight on and could've just been a fluke. Lastly, if you are going to visit, avoid the booths inside--I found them cramped and uncomfortable.

Yelp
After reading my review, you'll see I was unhappy about being charged $24 for bread without a heads-up. That was some time ago. You may want to inquire in advance to see if they still have a bread charge, especially if it is something you'd also be unhappy about.

Yelp
This used to be one of my favorites. The past three times I've been here it's been the same menu. September, December, and February. I remember a time when I thought the chef was fairly inventive. Not so much anymore. We came for restaurant week. I had the tuna appetizer which was good. Small but good. I then had the steak which was cooked well (med rare) but was dry. It had a little sauce underneath but not enough on there. It came with a matchbox square of potato that was dry and small and flavorless. At Xmas this was my favorite thing on the plate and I had a nice size serving of it. Then I got the chocolate molten cake with ice cream which was wonderful. If I go back with friends this is all I'll get. Dessert! It's disappointing as it's expensive and I don't feel it's special anymore. I feel it's totally catering to the tourists who won't be back. Now, will your locals be back?

Yelp
Restaurant Martin in Santa Fe offers an exquisite dining experience, with the most beautiful back patio imaginable. The ambiance is perfect for a memorable meal, whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply enjoying a night out. The food is truly five-star and never disappoints, with every dish crafted to perfection. However, the service leaves much to be desired. Despite the exceptional quality of the food and the enchanting atmosphere, the staff can be dismissive and condescending. For instance, we were questioned when we chose not to order a first course and again when we declined a second glass of wine. I'm also a stickler for when I say thank you to someone who is clearing a plate or taking a glass from the table, and my thank you is not acknowledged. It seems as though the staff views the customer as an inconvenience rather than a priority. In summary, while the food and setting are top-notch, Restaurant Martin would greatly benefit from improving its approach to customer service. If they could address these issues, it would be a flawless dining experience.

Yelp
What a good day it was to eat here! We sat outside on the patio and the weather was perfect! Our server was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. We went on a Saturday night and it was mostly full! The food was delicious and so pretty to look at! I almost felt bad just for eating it. I know Sante Fe has a lot of good restaurants but I would come back here. Although I might try another place before I do.

Yelp
Wonderful place ... go Be aware our waiter was not a good listener at dessert time ... see my tip for this place. I'm not a fan of deconstructed dessert presentations . (Carrot cake could look like a cake and I've never seen an opera 'cake' with a big red thing on it (delish) with a white lump upon it (delish but name it something else) My partners for the eve loved the pork belly app and the squash soup! Beet salad ? (More dressing ... but adequate and pretty). The chicken and lamb was very very delish ... but then dessert. The opera cake inspired dessert was a hit, lesser so Apple thing (another deconstructed dessert form) I tried ... really... to just get choco ice cream ... it was no to be. As I design my meal from dessert back to app, this was a drag. I'd go again in a heartbeat but will be careful in ordering in case the waiter misunderstands. GO!

Yelp
We had passed this restaurant MANY times. It is very unassuming from the street. I had heard about the many accolades of the chef... but it didn't beckon... A friend came to town for her birthday & chose for us to eat there... she reserved the patio. We walked into a tiny restaurant & then were guided thru one of the smallest bars I've ever seen... Then it opened up onto a LARGE, GORGEOUS patio! WOW! There is a lovely converted 3 car garage area & many other tables around the backyard of this delightful house-restaurant. There were 8 of us & we sampled as much as possible from the menu. Some highlights: Beet Salad Butternut Squash/Apple Bisque Pan Seared Scottish Salmon Duck Breast (locally sourced) To my delight, the Vegetarian Tasting Plate was AMAZING! I missed NONE of the flavor & color that I saw in my fellow diners' plates! I am NOT a strict vegetarian, but I do try to eat less meat and, so often, vegetarian/vegan entrees feel like they were added at the last minute & without much thought -- NOT HERE! THANK YOU! WELL DONE!!! I will ALWAYS order the Tasting Plate -- to see what Chef has in store for my taste buds. Will DEFINITELY be back!

Yelp
The restaurant is lovely, the food is beautiful, and our server was full of personality. But.. I would not recommend going for the holiday menus. It's crazy expensive and all the food was cold and / or undercooked. The whole meal felt understaffed. Dinner was over $500 for 3 of us, and truthfully our Seasons 52 Thanksgiving dinner last year for half the price was significantly better. I would come back for a regular date night type meal in a heartbeat, but I think we'll be sticking to the chains for Thanksgiving.

Yelp
Another fabulous dinner experience. We started at the bar with Andy for a cocktail, and we both enjoyed our drinks. My favorite was the truth or consequences ( similar to a negroni). For dinner, we enjoyed it on their outdoor patio and loved everything. We ordered the Wagyu appetizer, and our entree was the duck. Zoe, our waitress, and the manager took great care of us.

Yelp
Incredible experience, delicious food, kind and responsive staff. We went with *gasp* a 4 year old. Of course, there was plenty of earlier reassurance that said 4 year old would be on best behavior (or at least try their very best) and testing at less fancy places that behavior would be acceptable. To ensure success we went at opening time. Staff seated us in a booth and found paper and crayons (30 in one cup), so 4 year old was pleased with waiting for food. We ordered the pork belly appetizer for the 4 year old as his dinner, and staff thought of making sure kid-*weird* in entree were mentioned (ex. sunnyside up quail egg) and whether this child would tolerate it. Incredible forethought! I had the duck and partner had steak. Both were delicious. We were also intrigued by the vegetarian flight (3-4 sub entrees in one). Maybe next time. All together we stayed for about 2 hours (forever in 4 year old time), finishing with dessert that was extremely rich without making us feel like we overate. Ambiance was calm and subdued, although later in the evening a very large party came in and it got a bit louder. I cannot say enough good things about this place, and 4 year old gave it 100 stars.

Yelp
Wonderful! We are visiting from out of town and came here and ate on the patio. Bread service is great, fabulous wine selection. We both had steaks and they were excellent as was the salad. Service was excellent as well. Beautiful patio.

Yelp
I am a vegetarian and this was the most unique and delicious vegetarian dish I have had at a non- vegetarian restaurant! Kudos

Yelp
We dined at Restaurant Martin last night. This morning I looked at Yelp and was surprised to see the negative reviews. Simply the best dining experience we've had here this week and one of the best we've had in a very long time. We opted for the patio, which is beautiful. It was warm last evening, but there is plenty of shade so it was perfectly comfortable. We had our dog with us (a primary consideration is dog friendliness). We were greeted and shown to our table and a water bowl was delivered immediately . Later, the owner, Jennifer visited our table. She is involved in dog rescue and we had a lovely conversation. she even took a photo of our pup. Our waiter, Edward, was a total pro and enhanced our experience. His guidance was helpful and precise. His knowledge of the short but impressive wine list was complete. He steered us to a delightful Grenache that we'd never heard of. Overall, we felt like a guest at his personal dinner party. The food was amazing. The presentations were photo worthy. A hot stone in the bread basket to keep it warm. Everything was delicious. Our only regret is that our appetites did not leave room for dessert. A shame because the choices looked great. We've been coming to Santa Fe for over 30 years. Somehow we missed this restaurant. It's now at the top of our list.

Yelp
Surprisingly, we were able to get a table for two, without a reservation, on a Saturday night outside. Although they were busy, certainly they had plenty of open tables. In fact, no one was sitting inside the building. The gardens were pleasant enough but the flies nearly drove us crazy. They need to do something about that for sure. Food was only fair, not what we expected, and somewhat overpriced. We are not likely to return.

Yelp
Oh my God. Picked this place by chance on Open table as I was driving on I-25 after a long 600 mile trip from Vegas. After a decent but still fast food Arby's sandwich for lunch in Flagstaff, it was time for real food. Boy did I not get disappointed. Everything I had was delicious, complex and ultra flavorful. I see a few complains of misses, probably at rush times, but that's because the food is creative. McDonald's has perfect consistency (you'd think) but is consistency more important than quality and flavors. The pork belly appetizer had so many ingredients, I couldn't exactly tell you what is in it, but it was superb. Then came the Scottish salmon, cooked to perfection, melting on mouth, with a delicious base of rice and wild mushrooms, and probably again many other ingredients. Finally, the sorbet is so fresh. Even the mint leaf they put on it bursts with flavors.

Yelp
A little known spot with a lot of chutzpah. Great service, drinks, food, taste, decor. It'll be a 'must go to' on our Santa Fe trips. Happy that our other restaurant choices were all booked when we were looking for a place to eat. The chili old fashioned was a great choice. Slightly different then the cherry we're used to but interesting, not spicy nor at all off base. I liked it so much I ordered one after getting a Margarita. The salmon dish was perfect. The salmon was flavorful (wait, Santa Fe is not near a northern ocean? Couldn't tell!) The sweet potato medallions matched the salmon in flavor. Maybe even better! Mushrooms, radish, and bok choy also good plus the 'juice they dwelt in. The flavors matched so well. A meal to remember. My husband got the chicken. He enjoyed it (except the bone in one of the chicken pieces was hard to eat around). The smashed potatoes was a real hit. Really???? He never eats mashed potatoes! Ice cream for dessert was ok. Sad I couldn't order the chocolate cake. Drambouie was not an option and they tried to replicate it with another concoction. It didn't work but did taste ok in its own right. Prices are a bit high but not out of range of another fine restaurant. Ambiance wonderful. I highly recommend.

Yelp
Came here for my 40th birthday dinner and had a lovely time. I eat mostly vegan, and enjoyed the vegetarian sampler plate as my main. Cocktails were also delicious. The service was also fantastic; I love that they give you a little card telling you about your server for the evening; if you're going to spend a couple hundred dollars on a meal, you sure feel better doing it at a spot that seems to value their staff!

Yelp
We enjoyed dinner Al fresco in the late summer. The food and drinks were delicious and carefully prepared (some were a bit salty but pleasant), and the atmosphere was pure twinkle lights and magic. Our wait staff were attentive and fairly well informed/informative. A real treat!
google avatar

Melissa H.

Yelp
What can I say? Everything about this place is perfect. The ambiance, from the lush gardens and Al fresco dining to indoor, cozy spaces, everything is just beautiful. The service was impeccable. The food was artfully presented--and really really delicious and fresh. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
This restaurant is anything but James Beard worthy. Anyone who is looking for a quality special dinner, I would strongly suggest finding a different restaurant. Something was off from the start. We show up five minutes prior to our reservation, the hostess says she will be back shortly. Two other parties show up, and no hostess in sight. She reappears, states to all of us (different parties) that our tables weren't ready, and to wait in the small bar off to the side. Once seated another 10 Minutes passes, without a single acknowledgment. Someone appears telling us about a waiter swap and he would be with us shortly. Finally 20 minutes after we were sat, a waiter shows up, sweaty and rushed. He quickly rattled off an acknowledgment of "celebrating, a Anniversary?", I kindly smiled and corrected him and said, "no, a birthday celebration, for my significant other". He then corrected him self and moved onto rattling off their special for the night. He asked if we were then ready to order. We said we need a few more minutes for our entree, but would like to order a few starters. He then cut me off, and said in a smug tone, "oh no, we put the starters in at the same time as the entrees, so if you aren't ready to order your meal I will come back to take your order". Just like that he was gone. Some what put off at this time, I have never been to a restaurant that claims to be up scale to take your requests for appetizers and entrée at the same time, but ok, maybe this is something this place does. So we waited and waited and waited, the waiter never showed up. We look around, and the other tables that came in initially with us were all enjoying appetizers already and seemed to be having a pleasant dinner. I finally waived down another waitress to ask to get our waitress. She disappears for a min, then our waiter shows up. Sweaty, flustered and obviously irritated at us. No apology for disappearing for 30 mins, nothing, just a curt "what are you ordering". Woah. Ok so I order our initially starters that he specially said we had to order with our meal. In addition to the starters, I then proceed to order my entrée. He then with a snark said, "this comes rare, is that going to be ok with you". I paused for a quick sec, and said medium please, which he gave a look at me like I didn't know how to order and as if I ordered my meat extra well done or something. He then tells me, "so then everything you just ordered is for you then?". I said the entrée is for me, but my other half would like to order something as well. I felt like he was being disrespectful, as if I ordered some unreasonable amount of food. I was degusted with him, I could also sense my other half was not happy with this waiters tone and unprofessional manner. The waiter then jumps to my other half, proceeds to insult him since he in turn did not order the salmon rare and requested it to be cooked to medium. His attitude very apparent and off putting, he quickly turned around and disappeared as fast as he came. my other half and I looked at each other in complete disbelief. I said to him, "that was not ok right". My other half and I immediately got up and said we will not support any business that treats people this bad. We go to the front where we are met with the initial hostess where we proceed to explain what happened. I stated we had ordered some drinks from the bar when we were waiting and that was the only thing we had gotten, she then say "wait you have to pay for those". Oh hell no, we didnt even drink these drink and at minimum needed to be compensated. At that point, I asked to speak to the manager. A woman comes out said she was sorry, and said not to worry about the two drinks. In addition to the manager coming out, the waiter also came back. Once again sweaty and puffed up. Pretty intimidating and demanding of us to state what he did. We did not adequately tell the manager the situation and felt his intimidation did not allow for us to express the true concern of him. We left in complete disgust. We ended up at Geronimo Santa Fe, which luckly we got in without a reservation. Geronimo was perfect, professional, and special. It worked out for us for the better. While we were at Geronimo, I received a call from the manager/owner to call her back. I contemplated even calling her back, but ultimately decided to have my other half return her call the next day. This call only made matters worse. She had zero interest in hearing our side to what lead to us abruptly leaving. She cut off my other half and stated "she already got the story from her waiter last night, and did not need to hear it again from us". She then offered for us to go back and our meal would be comped. Nope not a chance in hell. This was her weak attempt at damage control. I truly feel her waiter was possibly on drugs, and does not deserve to be serving anyone. Easy pass. Go anywhere else.

Yelp
Transformative meal and a dessert of differing chocolate textures was beyond my wildest expectations of what a dining experience could be. Kudos to the chef! Service was excellent, August, my waiter made you feel of a bespoke nature, as did everyone else in who walked by to ask if the dinner was to my liking, and if I needed anything at all...prompt, genuinely nice and caring. Would eat here again in a heartbeat. Outdoor seating was spacious and surrounded by lush plantings...

Yelp
Wow. We had an outstanding experience last night at Restaurant Martin - from the moment we checked in to the moment we left. We had booked an outdoor table on their patio and it was a lovely atmosphere with nice landscaping and those quintessential white strand lights. The service from Emilio and Emiliano was excellent. Water glasses were full, plates were cleared quickly and the recommendations were on point. We started with the bread basket which included a warm stone to keep the bread toasty, the chilled pea soup, the lamb, the beef tenderloin, and a side of the truffled orzo mac and cheese. It was all perfectly cooked and delicious. We were too full for dessert but heard others praising it. I highly recommend a visit to Restaurant Martin.

Yelp
Delicious food, lovely ambience, but barely passable service. We enjoyed everything we ate, especially the Maple Leaf Farms Duck Breast. The assorted homemade breads were fine, but nothing special at all, so for $3 each felt a bit cheap. Given how much our meal was, I'd expect bread to be included. And the butter was basically frozen. Cocktails were also fine. I was excited that all the ingredients were local, including the alcohols, but my drink was a bit unbalanced. The service was the weakest point. They didn't serve us water until after asking three times. They also insisted we order everything at once, even though we were still undecided on entrees but hungry and wanted to get the appetizers going. They made it seem like they'd orchestra some special order to the food, but all the apps came out together, and then all the mains, so not clear why they needed the full order to start the appetizers.

Yelp
The food. The ambience. The service. Ahhhhmazing. The details that Chef Martin pays attention to is spot on especially with the hot plates so that there is no cold food being served. Bring your appetites the portions are good. The prices are great. An overall wonderful experience!!

Yelp
Our waiter Matt was so much fun. We had a wonderful meal. Everyone there couldn't have been nicer. Pork Belly was as wonderful as described! The dessert was probably the best I've ever had. I will be back.

Yelp
Restaurant martin completed our nice weekend in Santa Fe. The strip steak and scallops were my favorites on the menu. The meats were all perfectly cooked. The restaurant was more laid back than I thought it would be, which is a plus in my book. The patio seating creates an upscale but yet still chill vibe. The service was what you would expect at an upscale restaurant, and the prices aren't bad, coming from LA. Definitely worth a visit if you are in town.

Lisa D.

Yelp
Never have I run into such pretentious condescending people. The hostess, the bartender, The server. No idea if their food is good because the atmosphere was so stuffy and people were so rude I had no desire to stay. They also have a beet salad On their website and front door menu when you walk in and not on their actual menu. I am a foodie and enjoy fine dining, not when it comes with snooty employees. So many other lovely restaurants in Santa fe that come without the attitude.

Yelp
We were in town to celebrate a friend's birthday this was selected because we heard that it had very good options for vegetarians. Service was prompt and attentive without being overly so. Here's what we ordered: 1. The scallops were tender and flavorful. 2. The beet and pear salad was very good with just the right amount of dressing. 3. My Caesar salad was good and the dressing a little unusual and possibly a little less salty than the norm which I enjoyed. I ordered the tenderloin and wanted it rare which was good but it was cooked a little more than I liked. It was still a lovely cut of meat. I also had a bite of the salmon which was moist on the inside and had a nice sear. Overall, the experience was very, very good and lived up to its reputation.

Yelp
This is where I live now. The whole experience was great. The food is excellent, the staff were wonderful. The hostess was very pleasant and made us welcome. I'm impressed by the originality of the menu. When we sell our house and move here you can expect to see us anytime you come in.

Yelp
Dined here as part of a group of 16. Service was impeccable despite the large group! We had a choice of four different entrees, these included salmon, tenderloin, chicken, or vegetarian. Each person raves about their food. I had the tenderloin and it was perfectly cooked. This was difficult to bring out a dozen tenderloins simultaneously all at the correct temperature- as this is not a large kitchen. The molten cake was delicious as was the cinnamon ice cream that accompanied it. This is a highly recommended restaurant!!

Yelp
COME HERE DURING RESTAURANT WEEK! Service was excellent (thanks Julian!), and the rooms are pretty - (tables maybe a bit too tight to one another). We all partook of the restaurant week menu ($45) You order it all at once - I selected the dumplings with the mushrooms and olives and perfectly poached egg, the chicken (on the bone) with truffles sauce and a yummy/crispy polenta cake, and the molten lava cake with house-made ice cream. I appreciated that during restaurant week - when they are getting far less revenue - they are nit rushing you through dinner just to get another table in there. They let you have the full (high end restaurant) experience. The pacing of the meal was perfect - not too fast.

Yelp
Nice touch to welcome with Prosecco for birthday celebration. Small quaint dinning area; good service. The snapper was very well done and lamb was enjoyed as well. Also ended the night by a birthday dessert on the house.

Yelp
On a very cold November night I had a really delicious meal here. The atmosphere was calm and warm, and my waiter was friendly and helpful. I had a good IPA to start while I looked at the menu, and then had a really delicious dry aged bone-in Duroc pork chop that was cooked perfectly, barely medium, with warm fall vegetables, yams and oyster mushrooms. The bread and butter to start were also delicious, even if I wished the serving to be a little bigger... :) I had a glass of young Bordeaux with the pork and it was a nice pairing. Someone at a nearby table saw my appetizing entree and changed her order once I told her how delicious it was. I would definitely come back here next time I'm in Santa Fe!

Yelp
We had dinner here for our 10th anniversary last night. What a great, quintessentially Santa Fe experience! We were greeted by one of the restaurant owners, who shared that her daughter shared my unusual first name. She escorted us back to our table back in the corner of their expansive patio (prime people watching position and lovely view of their gardens). We were quickly greeted by Zoe, who hailed from our home state of OK. She guided me through selection of a dry white wine and my husband had a Marble Double White, as they had a nice selection of NM beers. Our food was amazing... my husband is not a huge fan of haute cuisine, especially dishes with lots of vegetables and sauces. Zoe was great about ensuring his crispy-skin chicken and side of truffle cheese orzo were served with all sides and sauces separated and he decided that the almond mole was actually delicious after all. I had the White Sea bass served over a lobster and vegetable stir fry (Chef's special) with a cauliflower tarragon sauce that was AMAZING. we also opted for the bread bowl ($3 per) that was delicious. The crowning dish was a chocolate molten cake with cinnamon ice cream that was served with mini-spatulas to slurp up every drop. We scraped the plate clean. On the way out, the greeter sought me out and said that she shared my name, so must have been the owner's daughter. The entire experience was personal, well-executed and memorable from start to finish. We will be back!! Thank you.

Yelp
We chose Restaurant Martin for a special New Year's Eve dinner during our Santa Fe vacation. Our expectations were high based on the reviews, chef reputation and the intriguing, creative prix fixe menu. The $135/per person did not seem unreasonable for exceptional cuisine and service. Unfortunately, I was left feeling disappointed and, dare I say, "ripped off." As someone with food allergies, I have to be careful when eating out. Higher end restaurants work best because food is made from scratch, wait staff is typically more knowledgeable about ingredients and chefs are helpful in working around issues. The options of the prix fixe looked more than adequate to work around my need for "gluten-free" food given the mostly meat/veg dishes. When asking the server about options, she said they could "make most things gluten-free". I asked her about specific dishes but she didn't seem to know much about the ingredients. She couldn't tell me which ones were gluten-free or if components would be left off or changed to accommodate. When I expressed an interest in the duck dish she just said, "they will use what they have". What does that mean? She seemed confident it would work so I assumed this was a good choice not requiring changes beyond leaving off what she described as a small garnish. The dish contained two smallish pieces of duck breast, confit, two small pieces of turnip and a compote. The duck was supposed to be medium rare but was overdone and mostly flavorless. What I only realized later was both sauces were left off. These were obviously critical components. Had the server informed me I could have neither sauce, I would not have ordered the dish. My husband chose the bass and, based on ingredients, I believe I could have had that dish or the strip loin with little to no modifications. When selecting dessert, the server said one dish wasn't an option because she "thought" it had rice. First of all, rice doesn't contain gluten so this made me wonder if she even knew what gluten is. Regardless, she didn't know for sure what was in the dishes and didn't go ask and bring back the info. I finally settled for three tiny scoops of ice cream that were disappointingly lacking in flavor. A prix fixe menu should make things easier on the chef and staff, not to mention being more economical for the restaurant. But the $135/person was significantly more than the cost of similar items on the ala carte menu. (Amuse bouche, appetizer, entree, dessert). I could look past this had the food been stellar, but it wasn't. The final bill, including drinks was $408 for two. And even though I normally tip 20%+, it was annoying they automatically applied 20% gratuity ($68) for service that was friendly and prompt yet lacking for what one would justifiably expect for a dinner and restaurant such as this. Given that nowadays, most (even much more modest) restaurants are well-versed in how to handle dietary restrictions, this was sorely disappointing. The manager and chef should provide adequate training to ensure staff know ingredients or, minimally, check with the chef and communicate back with customers so there is no misunderstanding.

Yelp
My daughter and I had dinner last night. The food was pretty good, not great. Server was nice but not well trained...at all. He absolutely insisted on dividing the salad because "it looks better" then charged $3 for the service. Family style would have been fine. Just be aware of that. Bread is extra $$ as many have pointed out. We both had the salmon dinner and both had leftovers. I asked him to be very careful that they weren't mixed up and he assured me that they wouldn't be. I had Covid recently and although I've been testing negative, I wanted to be super cautious. Also, took a photo of my dinner before it was wrapped then put my initial on my box but when I opened it the next day they had been switched. Ugh! So moral of that story is ask them to bring boxes and wrap it yourself. Totally irresponsible and could have resulted in the spread of Covid.

Yelp
When a restaurant is charging over $15 for appetizers and $30-50 for mains, you expect the food to be exceptional. In our case, it was mediocre. I'm not sure if anyone in the kitchen was tasting the food going out. Pork belly appetizer was fine -- sauce was fairly bland/under-seasoned for a red chili. The side dishes (truffled orzo mac & cheese and duck fat potatoes) were better than the main dishes, but the mac and cheese sauce had split -- it had a thick layer of oil on top -- and was heavy handed with the truffle to the point of being overpowering. The main dishes were the real issue. The rack of lamb was too tough (med rare) to be cut through with the knife provided, and the sauces were a purée of rancid olive oil and rotten cilantro/parsley stems, and a demi glace that tasted bitter and somehow still bland. The duck breast (med) was way too tough to cut through, though marinated well (sweet, w/ something like star anise) and accompanied by some nicely roasted vegetables. Pretty good, strong cocktails. Nice atmosphere, beautiful patio. But all together, certainly not worth it for the money, at all. Would have been upset by the quality of the food at half the price.

Yelp
Would HIGHLY highly recommend. Incredible food, wonderful environment, and the kindest staff. My husband and I came here last night with our infant daughter. It has been years since we have had a date night but had to have our youngest in tow. I was very nervous that a young child would not be acceptable in this fancy of a restaurant but we just really wanted to eat some great food. But when we walked in the hostess made sure that she went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. She gave us a booth so we could have some space, and her kindness and hospitality honestly made my day. I wish I took down her name but really, the entire staff was wonderful. My husband even commented that they check in with you the perfect amount of times, not too much and not too little. When it came to the food- everything was so beautifully plated, perfect portions (we ate it all), and reasonable price point. For an appetizer, two cocktails, two main entrees and a dessert we paid a little over $200, which I felt was totally reasonable for what you get. The most memorable part of the meal for me, surprisingly was the dessert. We had a lemon meringue dessert that was INCREDIBLE. Perfect mix of flavors and textures. It was a perfect dessert and ending to a great meal. I would highly recommend!

Yelp
Saturday night dinner with family and my girlfriend. We had a reservation and quickly were seated at one of the curved booths in the front. I settled on still water rather than Pellegrino and began perusing the menu. For starters, a Caesar salad. The dish was presented with long leaves of romaine, slices of parmesan, and dried bread. I used my knife to break it down into bite-sized pieces, them mixed it together with the dressing. Crunchy and light! Nicely done. My entree this evening was the chicken breast with crispy skin. It arrived atop a medley of oyster mushrooms, carrots, and other small root vegetables. The chicken was prepared well, but the dish on the whole seemed unfocused and was somewhat disappointing. There was also a strange pressed potato cake that did not seem to fit with everything else. I impulsively ordered a side of polenta. In hindsight, really wish I'd gone for the mac and cheese. Still, the polenta was satisfying, filling in the gaps left by the chicken. My girlfriend and I then split the lemon tart for dessert. I ended up enjoying the raspberry sorbet most of all. Overall, it was an enjoyable dinner. The service was good, and there's plenty to choose from on the menu. (Unfortunately, the shellfish options are off the table for me, immediately eliminating some of the best-sounding dishes.) Next time, I'll spend more time with the menu before ordering.
