Unfortunately, it's a 1-star and a very disappointing Friday night dinner for us. The attention of two waiters was focused on a table of about 12 people, serving as the center of gravity for the entire service. We waited for 25 minutes for a waiter to take our order, and during this time, we weren't offered anything, not even a bottle of water. Despite our patience, the ordered cheese plate, while generous in quantity, was visually unappealing. The main dish was okay—tasty, but not mind-blowing. Adding to the disappointment, the staff lazily refilled our vermut glasses from the bottle without changing the glass, as if they were running out of ice or oranges. In conclusion, regardless of what happened that night, the service was inadequate and subpar. It's a shame for a place with a 4.5-star rating to behave this way.

My celiac partner absolutely loved the gluten free bread they had! Looks even better than these images, taken at the evening. The food was incredible & service very profesional.

Here it will be my favourite restaurant in Girona, I love it!!!! I ordered rice for 1 person it usually has to order two, but here they accept for one. Sea food was fresh price reasonable with the size of dishes. I will come back again

Flowers menu for the festival in Girona. Both rice dishes were a bit dry. The tartare needed salt. A bit expensive for the service and food. Maybe we came on an off day.

3 course Michelin star quality lunch was amazing. The wine was fantastic all for 19 eur. Definitely worth a visit.

Wow – what a find! For starters we had a prawn carpaccio with shaved foie on a bed of lettuce and fava beans that was just incredible – even the fava beans were rich and delicious. My wife’s starter was the scorpionfish and crab cakes - a large portion that was wonderful, even if not quite matching the very high bar set by the prawn carpaccio. For mains, I had the fish of the day Donasterria style which we were told is a traditional Catalan recipe. The fish was monkfish, which is not normally our favoutite, but it was done so well we loved it. The fish was served with a small crab on a bed of garlic potatoes. The whole dish was intensely delicious – the potatoes were almost caramelized, so they were infused with an intense garlic fish sauce. My wife had the seafood rice – essentially the local version of paella – which was also fantastic. We finished with a great variety plate of desserts. The wine by the glass (several!) was very well selected and excellent value. On the whole, easily one of the best meals we have while had in Spain. Exceptional value given the quality – the two of us got out for 130 euro including wine.

The food was incredible. We both had the lunch special. The value is unbeatable and was such a lovely surprise given the business man lunchtime atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

Yelp
What a culinary experience! Occi is quite a small restaurant (advanced booking a must) with a sleek modern style that somehow seamlessly incorporates the giant stone walls and pillars of the old Girona building in which it is situated. This unique combo is a bit confusing at first but seems to make perfect sense by the end of the meal (no, there was no wine involved here). The menu consists of dishes that reflect the "modern yet classic" look and feel of the place. Offerings are imaginative and pretty much universally appealing. The thing I liked most about the menu was that it was not simply "twists on a local classic" but instead the chefs used all of the classic local ingredients (and some lesser-seen local produce like rabbit, pigeon and a whole host of local wild mushroom varieties) to create dishes and a style of cuisine that was truly their own. Luckily, we were 5 people so we were able to choose five different starters to share. In order to enjoy each dish and not jumble up all the flavours, our waiter suggested bringing each dish in turn to make a sort of tasting menu. It was a good call as every dish was packed full of its own unique flavour and character that was made somehow all the more enjoyable by tasting it in isolation from the others. Favourites included the taggliatelle with local egg, shrimp and mixed mushrooms, the "arroz de pals" (their delicious take on a risotto) and the rabbit terrine. A word to the wise: the starter portions are LARGE so if you're not hungry or are looking for a lighter meal, you could order less than one per person or even get a few different starters to share between you as a whole meal. Main courses consisted of fish and meat dishes that were just as creative and tasty as the starters. Meat and fish alike were cooked to perfection with accompaniments that complemented and enhanced their wonderful natural flavours. Desserts were light, well presented and as unique and imaginative as previous courses. In conclusion, I would say that Occi offers some incredibly imaginative, tasty and well-executed food made from some of the finest local ingredients and backed up by extremely friendly and helpful service. Dinner was extremely good value for the amount and quality of the food received, coming in at around €40/head for three courses (more with wine, as only one of us had a glass). A definite must-try for anyone, but especially those looking for something a bit different in Girona and the surrounding area. Oh, and if anyone in your party speaks Castellano or Catalan, definitely get a menu in one of those languages as some ingredients and descriptions are lost in translation on the English language menus.

Yelp

Yelp
Small restaurant, super delicious! Delicious food and wine list, great recommendations for pairings. Service is prompt and straight forward, not pushy at all with selling extras to your meal. Reservation is helpful, I will return.

Yelp
Occi is fantastic, I know many people who consider it one of the best if not THE best restaurant in Girona. Service is great. You will not be disappointed, lunch or dinner!
