Restaurant Ritterstuben

Such a lovely restaurant! We stumbled across this place in the adorable town of Füssen and were warmly welcomed by our waitress and the atmosphere. Sitting in the garden area was very pretty as well. We enjoyed some turkey, spätzle, leberkäse, and much more. The Radler drink was also super refreshing. If you’re staying in Füssen, I promise you’ll enjoy this restaurant!

The food and drink here were very good. And much cheaper than was the same sort of fare in Munich. We had dinner on an early August evening when many, many tourists were in town. The restaurant was not at all overcrowded. We appreciated the variety on the menu and the excellent preparation of our meal and drinks.

Really enjoyed this restaurant. I was looking for a place that served gluten free items after 8pm. This restaurant has a separate GF menu which makes it much easier to select your items. I had the turkey schnitzel (without cream sauce) and subbed the sparezel (a Bavarian pasta) for fries. My husband had the Tirolerschnitzel which he said was very good - it looked delicious! We also had a side salad and the Kaiserschmarren, a GF pancake with applesauce. Excellent dinner. Server was very efficient. WCs are clean. I do recommend!

A Bavarian Gem in Füssen Dining at Ritterstuben was an absolute delight! From the moment we walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere set the tone for an unforgettable evening. The Brätknödelsoup was rich and flavorful, a true comfort on a chilly night. The Schweinswürstel mit Sauerkraut und Bratkartoffeln was perfectly seasoned and authentically Bavarian, while the Schweinsmedaillons in Pfefferrahmsauce were tender and expertly cooked, with a sauce that was simply divine. The service was impeccable – attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. The ambiance? Pure Gemütlichkeit! It felt like a cozy embrace of Bavarian tradition, with every detail enhancing the experience. A heartfelt thank you to the team at Ritterstuben for a five-star dining experience. They had a whole gluten free menu with even spatzle. Everything was really good.

We read the reviews on Google and decided to go. Unfortunately it didn't go as planned and we didn't enjoy our food, service was ok, but the food was expensive and regular at most. The tomato soup was warm tomato sauce out of the can with nothing on it, not the pictures, the fish was ok, the Tiroler Schnitzel was not the worst and the pork tenderloin wasn't good either. I think it is the worst German food and I have been visiting and living in Germany for the last 8 years. so I wouldn't recommend this place at all.

I was pleasantly surprised when my choice to try a unique local dish resulted in such savory flavor. I throughly enjoyed every bite. The waitress was attentive and kind. I really felt relaxed and able to take a much needed break there after my hike. It wasn't too crowded though I was confused about the long hallway entrance and the layout. Has the same unassuming attention to quality of a small family owned buissness.

Had the tomato cream soup, creamy spinach spaghetti and the local special which is the meat, egg and potatoes (gebratner lerberkas, something like that) Service was great and server was friendly. Knew we weren’t local and gave us an English menu instead. Do take note their seasonal special menu is only in German, prepare Google translate if you wanna try something in season. Other than that, feel free to ask them in English too, they will be able to recommend their specials.

Have eaten here a lot and the food is always great. Friendly servers that love talking to you, especially if you give your German language skills a try. I've tried almost everything on the menu and we've never been disappointed. Give the pork cutlet with spätzle a try, you won't be sad you did.

I never post negative reviews, but this time I had to. My husband and I just had the most unpleasant experience for dinner at this restaurant. We are Americans and we were ignored the whole time. There were 2 waitresses. First they sat us outside in the corner of the restaurant which was ok and didn't think anything of it. We waited for the longest time for them to come and ask to take our drinks order. Four couples came after us and their orders were taken before us and few of them were eating their dinner before we were even asked for our drinks order. Finally one of them took our order in a rush and seemed annoyed because my husband was asking for a diet coke (he is diabetic). Then, the food took even longer to come out. Food was bland and vegetables tasting funny. They never asked us if we needed anything else. When it was time to pay - we were waiting again, and trying to get someone's attention - one of them came after a long time, we asked to pay. She said ok, left and didn't come back. Finally we got the other waitress attention, she came, we asked again to pay and she also left and starts cleaning and doing other thing, and even looked at us like we have not asked for anything. I thought it was ridiculous what was happening. I told my husband to get up and go inside and tell them we just wanted to pay. We go inside the restaurant, one of them was taking other customers orders and the other one was cleaning. We asked them again we want to pay, and they asked us again to wait. I walk out of this restaurant very disssapointed of how poorly we were treated because we are Americans. We will never come back to this restaurant. The food is not good as other reviews said. Think twice before you plan on going here.

We've been in Germany for a little over a week now, and this was by far the best meal we've had. Every other restaurant we've been to the food was ready so quickly it was almost unsettling. Granted we've been touring around all the tourist-y cities, and arrived about 30 minutes before the kitchen closed, but here we actually waited a normal amount of time for the food (10 minutes). It was hot and actually SO good. I got a spinach and cheese pasta and my sister got the vegetarian veggie dish, while our parents got schnitzel and sausage. Everything was hot and well seasoned and fresh. Apparently they've been around for the last 23 years so everyone else knows the secret, but not much info on yelp for german restaurants in the area! Cute little back patio, English menus, and really nice servers.

Cute place, very fast service. Downers: food extremely salty, pork overcooked, cash only! You can do better.

The only restaurant in town with any real kind of gluten free options which was a LIFESAVER. The food was good, I'm just not sure traditional German food is my thing. The service was good helping us in English to understand the gluten free menu. If our stay was longer, I'd definitely be back.

I will be he first to say that German food is not my favorite and I try not ordering it when I can but I figured since it was gluten free I had to go there and I'm happy we did. The food was great! Good portions very tasty and great service with a lovely little outside area. If in Fussen definitely check it out

The Resturant serves traditional German food. The difference from other places is that they have fish and vegetarian options. They also have smaller portion options which is nice if you don't have a big appetite. The food is very good. Not a German food expert by any means but we really enjoyed dinner there. Service was friendly and efficient by German standards. They have English menus and the servers speak a limited amount of English. We didn't speak any German and it wasn't a problem at all. Oh yeah... According to travel guides you should tip 10% rounding up to the nearest euro. Don't be like us and stiff the wait staff like we were doing at the start of the trip.

Amazing food all around! The quality of food and great taste of all four of our meals was among the best on we have had in Europe. The soups (tomato in particular), sauces over meats (Schnitzel), and flavors (sautéed onions) are superb.
