We had the Angus Beef steak and a salad. The steak was very juicy and the seasoning is perfect. The salad and homemade balsamic vinega was also very fresh. The service was also very good. All of the staffs were very nice and very kind. We were very happy to have our lunch here. Definitely recommend.

We stopped by here with the family and enjoyed the breakfast. It’s reasonably priced and they have really good options. The bread, cheese and meats were great. The kids enjoyed the scrambled eggs and bacon the most!

Great place and truly scenery. Quality service and quality food. Thanks to the Chef and team. I’ll repeat the visit whenever back to Bern. If you choose to come from the down town of Bern; be prepared to pull enough energy to walk up thru the hill, which is a nice little warm up and workout before arriving to the restaurant. Also, it’ll be great to spot coupe or bears from the bridge while heading to the restaurant.

i am pretty disappointed with this restaurant. it started with waiter - i asked for table on saturday afternoon, while many tables were empty i thought i can choose any, but he in rather impolite way stated i need to seat at the back... i said i prefer to seat on the other side to have a view on river, he rolled eyes and said he "must ask his boss". anyways, i got my seat and ordered a cesar salad.- well, 29 chf is pretty steep price, but i thought ok - it must be exceptional... only to find out it was just bad from a to z, literally 4 strips of chicken, that was so dry like if it was air fried half day! hard even to bite, unpleasant to eat. i get better salads as starters in other places while waiting for food. i don't like to post reviews like this, but sometimes it's the only way to express dissatisfaction and warm others

We had fondue and beef tartar. Undo was marginal but the beef tartar was pretty good. Do you want to go reduction? Really added a nice flavor to the beef. Not easy to get to but a fun spot. Definitely more than you would think from something next to a campground !

Google
Fantastic atmosphere with excellent views. We had the fondue menu with the house fondue. We weren’t a fan of the meat platter, finding it a bit bland and all the meats very similar tasting. It was our first time having fondue and we didn’t find it much to our liking. Although dipping food in cheese was fun, the cheese was a tad bitter for me and the bread not amazing. I enjoyed the potatoes a lot and the pickles and pear were nice. Service was great. However, the food overall doesn’t quite justify the price. Then again, this is Switzerland ($$$)!

Google
A casual afternoon at the Risengarten restaurant of Bern. The gluhwein was excellent and heartwarming on quite a cold day. The service was great! The walk up the hill from the near bridge is quite steep so be prepared for the hard hike. The view of Bern old town is perfect from this point, with stunning views during sunset. There is a garden outside with a fire pit if you like something like this! Highly recommended!

Google
Very popular restaurant in Rosengarten park with views overlooking Bern. There’s a lot of indoor and outdoor seating, though it seems to get crowded any day of the week. I had the Harira (a Moroccan stew) and some rooibos tea on a very cold day and needless to say it was delicious. They also serve bread to every table.

Yelp
We strolled the exquisite rose garden and waterlily pond/waterfalls with a sunset view of the town before having dinner here. They have complimentary grain bread. Our server Brenda was awesome. We were seated in the veranda with a view of the river and Bern. Our starter was baked goat cheese with a radicchio/cucumber/tomato/radish/arugula chutney in a light citrus dressing. For entrees we ordered basil gnocchi with mozzarella in a creamy lemon sauce then ricotta ravioli in a bright tomato sauce. Everything was delicious. We were too full for dessert, but their tiramisu looked yummy. It was a nice dining experience.

Yelp
Talk about food with a view! My friend and I stopped here after it was recommended to us by a stranger on the train - yes you read that right. She said it was her favorite spot in all of Bern, and so we had to give it a try! I recommend getting a reservation, but we were early enough they were able to squeeze us in. The views from up top are STUNNING. A full picturesque view of the entire city. We were eating a late lunch so we shared the Mediterranean plate with pita bread, hummus, and some veggies & a garlic bread. Both were very high quality, fresh, and delicious! I can only imagine how good the entrees are. My only complaint is the service was slow for it not being very busy, but the staff was kind nonetheless. Rosengarten is a MUST for a meal as impressive as the views!

Yelp
You dont have to go anywhere else- food- local and fresh - English speaking staff and menu- Beautiful views! just lack of parking below- the walk is 10 minutes from the main parking lot and steep- but doable for the relatively fit- there is a bus but I dont know details of bus - PS friend got the indian lamb - but not authentic- stick to local flavors !

Yelp
Rosengarten definitely worth the hype so highly recommend making a reservation and visiting it while in Bern. It is a bit of a hike up the hill to get to the restaurant but the views are so worth it! It does get pretty busy so, once again, plan accordingly. You can sit inside or outside, the menu has plenty of various options for everyone. We had some drinks and desserts, and everything was delicious and reasonably priced. Will absolutely come back if I am in Bern again!

Yelp
This place has an amazing view and a lovely ambiance. A friend who lives here suggested it and we were not disappointed. I will say it was pretty pricey and they charged me 4.50 per glass of water I got, which I was surprised by. (I took a star off of the 5 star review I was going to give for that) We had the pork chop, the gnocchi, and trout. All the food was extremely tasty. Don't know if we liked the pork or the gnocchi better. For dessert we did the chocolate cake and caramel pudding. I liked the pudding but my whole group attacked the chocolate cake like it was the last food we'd ever see.

Yelp
A great local restaurant with an unbeatable view over old town of Bern. We went there with my partner to celebrate my birthday, in large part because of the amazing view and amazing sunset from there. Overall, it is a great place. You have an excellent view out from pretty much every single seat in the restaurant, both indoors and terrace, thanks to large glass window walls. The service is nice and fast; they have menus in other languages as well. The food was absolutely delicious, just as wine we were advised to take with it. I took asparagus with fish and rizotto on the side and my partner - beat-based gnocchi with white wine. Both were delicious - asparagus was neither stringy and cooked just right; fish was descaled well and while cooked to crispiness, not overly dry. My partner's gnocchi had a nice gnocchi flavor with just a hint of beetroot accent that was complemented with creamy sauce, without beetroot or sauce being overwhelming. Overall a great location in Bern, and not abusively expensive given the quality and the location.

Yelp
Bern is a pretty small town and everyone comes to check out the bears. But if you cross the street from the bear pit and keep climbing up, you reach the Rose Garden with its spectacular views of the city and the river. There's an indoor and outdoor eating area, with a grassy section if you want to spread out a blanket and relax. We took outside seating to enjoy the view, breeze and sun. The cocktails were lovely and the cheese plates were generous. Well worth the short hike and a great way to spend the afternoon relaxing.

Yelp
Love the ambiance. service is excellent and food is awesome. A must visit when you are in Switzerland.

Yelp
My favorite moment in Switzerland was having lunch at the Rosegarten. We at outside and the weather was perfect, the view was breathtaking and the food was deltoids I had the barley soup and sandwich which was wonderful. I can't wait to go back and relive this perfect moment

Yelp
Come here for the unbelievable views of the city and a light, fresh meal and/or drinks. Looking at the views and smelling the roses, while sipping wine and snacking on light Swiss food is the perfect way to take a small break. There are many dishes on the menu that are good for sharing with a small group. The items are fresh and seasonal. They also have some local wines on the menu. It definitely gets busy so a reservation is a good idea for a table with the best views.

Yelp

Yelp
You would think that this place would be super touristy due to its location and that the food would be meh. Well, yes, there are tourists but I found the food to be good. Of course there is an English menu for the regular menu but there are specials. Get the specials. However it's in German and may not have an equivalent translations... But it was worth it. Also the homemade ice tea. Loved it. Was is rose iced tea? Mmmm... The country pork and potatoes was cooked to perfection . so tender and juicy with whole grain mustard. And the potatoes are mixed with veggies. Great dressing. Then the salad that came with it was also very tasty. I could have had more of that!!! Also the view was awesome. View of the city from on high... Would definitely return.

Yelp
Rosengarten is a unique location overlooking the medieval capital city of Bern, Switzerland, and like its name implies, on a high plateau next to a park full of flowers. Really, the location is divine. As well, impeccable service. We had an absolutely awesome lunch there, which although went way over our budget, it nonetheless left us with very good memories at the end of our nine-day ski vacation in Switzerland. The restaurant selections are all original, fresh, with home-grown herbs and spices which gives the faire an additional degree of freshness and flavor. Their Bucatini al pesto is the rage. We had an antipasto appetizer that left us licking our fingers, and a Schnitzel plate that satiated us well. Washed it down with a bottle of Valais white wine. Well worth the price and the million-dollar views.

Yelp
The views from this place are breathtaking. We walked here from our Airbnb and it was the perfect way to end our trip. Whether you want a cup of coffee and a small snack or a full three course meal it's the perfect location. You can sit indoors or outside. I had a picnic with my kids outside then while they played at the park, I came in for a quick coffee and snack.

Yelp
5 star tourist spot. Decent delicious and classy dinner with a view overlooking Bern that looks beautiful any time of the day, rain or snow. My family ordered the small pasta, pork tenderloin and Italian sausage. They were are cooked and seasoned well, but pork tenderloin takes the crown. The restaurant is divided into two spaces: an inner room and a surrounding glass hall. During lunch or dinner time, make sure to reserve for a seating in the glass hall area to snag the spot with the view. Otherwise, you can always come out to the terrace area. If you only have a moment to spare in bern, I highly recommend the restaurant to kill two birds with one stone: dine and a quick sightsee.

Yelp
If you want to dine with a view, the Rosengarten is the place to be. (The restaurant has one of the best views I have ever seen and I live in New York City.) The food was good, but understandably a little pricy (given the restaurant's great location and the fact that this is Switzerland.) If you want a table with the best views I would recommend making a reservation ahead of time (most of the outside tables were reserved) and going in a group of 4 or more (all of the tables with the best view were for larger groups)

Yelp
Was excited to try this place after a pleasant walk around the city. I was horribly disappointed by the staff. I have never encountered such rude staff in my entire life. It took forever for someone to visit our table, forever to get a menu, and what seemed like eternity for us to put in an order for food. The views are fantastic, but next time I'll skip this place and eat a sandwich in the park.

Yelp
I loved this restaurant. if I could have eaten here every day I was in switzerland i would have. It has excellent views and fresh, more healthy food than most restaurants in Switz... ( or Germany/ Austria where I was also drowning in meat + potato heavy meals). They had many diverse options that tempted me, from warm goat cheese salad, to lamb & chickpeas, falafel, caesar salad, pastas, and many more. I had a gazpacho as app plus the main corse of seared fish accompanied by mushrooms, misc vegs like eggplant and gnocchi. Everything was flavorful and the service was great!! It was about 50 francs for my 2 plates and iced tea, for sake of reference. TIPS: (1). Right past the bearpark bridge there is a steep path that you can walk up the mountain. Or you can take 2 buses if you cant walk up. The time it took to connect buses (10-15 min) was a bit ridiculous compared to the under 5 min walk path.... i didnt know the path was there until I was leaving or else I would have just done that. (2). The rose garden is really cool.... I have never seen around 50 different rose varieties in one place before and its worth a walkthrough. And its free. I (3) There is a playground within sight of the restaurant, where you could let your kids burn off energy while you relax post dinner. slides, swings, etc. (4). To the reviewers that said service is terrible.... i have found that Europe has an expectation of relaxed, leisurely customers. If you dont want to sit and chat at length you have to be direct about flagging down the waiter and asking for your check, another drink, etc. If you dont say what you want or need, they assume you are content to sit there forever chatting and will not move you along the way American service does. (5) If you want one of the best views, reserve your table. You may also want to specify sun or shade, if it matters to you bc most tables were one or the other. I walked up with no reservation at exactly noon.... Many tables were marked off as reserved but I was still content to sit 3 tables back from the edge, the view was still amazing.

Yelp
It took forever for someone to come to our table. The ridiculous thing is that they serve a clam pasta and insists that is a mussel pasta, and the table near us is having "real mussel". The waiter claimed that the claim and mussel are same animals after we compared ours pasta to our neighbors', and kept saying it's not his business. Bad place for dinner but the view is good, so coffee only.

Yelp
Great location. The view from the restaurant is stunning. We had a couple of drinks there on the evening, their rosé wine is delicious. I went back for breakfast, and I was impressed: good food, quick service. Highly recommended!

Yelp
It's a really nice place with fantastic views of the city below. However, I've been here on 4 different occassions and each time the service has been horrible. It takes ages to order and to pay. At the end of my ladt visit, I just left the money on the table. Will probably return only if I have to.
