Sheep grazing on Swiss grass is a scene so ideal, that a fragment of imagination translates into reality. From the beauty of bright green Swiss grass to these gorgeous animals, these sheep get something right. And, so do the people who raise them.
Schäferstube is heavily focused on local sheep farms and indicates that upon getting the menu. And, admittedly, the lamb is pretty good. It is very tender, but has zero flavor of lamb. Frankly, it could have been any other meat I've been eating and not knowing it. For those who are not big lamb lovers, this might just be the perfect entrance. It is my suspicion that the way it is marinated may be the reason for it. Also, it is extremely tender. It just happens to be not the way I enjoy lamb: fresh from the animal and flavorful.
The fondue was very nice and tasty, but also can't say the cheese blend was a favorite. Extremely mild, no zesty flavors. Again, nothing wrong, just for a certain palette.
The interior is cozy and classic for the region. I can't say that anything about the meal here was really memorable, but nonetheless enjoyed it. It is a matter of personal preference for us all and I think that's what it ultimately comes down to. Good restaurant and specialization in lamb is an exciting one.
