Best bang for your buck (err, krone) in Oslo if you want to try some traditional Norwegian food!
I got the Reinsdyrkarbonader (which is also the Wednesday special, so you save 10 NOK getting the daily) for 139 NOK, which is an astounding deal in the pricey eating world of Norway's capital.
Two big medallions of minced reindeer meat, very well-seasoned and it goes well with the onion and fruit sauce. Sides are hefty: big dollop of mashed peas, two potatoes, and a lake of pickled cabbage. The peas were a little dry for my taste, but a good contrast to everything else.
Waitresses are a little surly, but it somehow works.
Beers on tap, and all in a lovely bar setting. Perfect for a long summer day.
