Restaurant Tradition

Restaurant Tradition was a really special experience. We started with the pumpkin soup, which was excellent and beautifully balanced. The traditional Swedish meatballs were full of flavor, especially with the sauce, and the mashed potatoes were perfect. I’m very particular about potatoes, so that says a lot. We finished with the kladdkaka, which was rich and delicious. What truly elevated the experience was the owner, who was incredibly friendly and helpful. His conversation and thoughtful recommendations made the meal feel more personal and memorable.

A big thank you to the waitor Minna who served me and my friend on Wednesday evening (26/11/2025). She was very helpful, kind and pleasant to have as a server. The food was top-notch. Every dish was exceptional, very fresh and extra tasty. The atmosphere was great. It would be nice for a restaurant of this kind to give towels instead of napkins but this is just a small detail-recommendation. I will definitely come back and recommend this place to my friends.

Ordered the S.O.S and veal tartare as starters, both were excellent. The S.O.S was interesting and unique to my taste, and not fishy at all, while the veal tartare had great flavour and texture. Mains was the potato dumplings stuffed with allspice pork, and paired beautifully with the berries. Overall, flavours were well thought out, the service was friendly and also really enjoyed the vibe of the restaurant. Definitely worth a visit.

We had an excellent meal here. The Swedish meatballs were outstanding, easily the highlight of the evening. What truly set this place apart was the warmth and friendliness of the staff, genuinely welcoming and attentive. We would absolutely return and highly recommend it.

Absolutely amazing experience. The köttbullar were the best I’ve had in my life incredibly flavorful, tender, and perfectly balanced with the sauce. Everything tasted fresh and comforting. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the staff were kind and attentive. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending this place to others.

This was our choice for our traditional dinner while in Stockholm and we were not disappointed. We did have the meatballs and the potato dumplings with pork. Both were perfect. The staff was attentive, but not hovering. The dining room is laid out well. But food is why we were there. It was delicious and even the dessert was amazing. Would we eat there again? Yes, yes we would. Lovely location in Gamla Stan. Kudos to the staff!

More incredible food! Stockholm has been an amazing food journey for the last 2 days. Tradition was very busy at 7pm but they (all the very nice staff) squeezed us in on the corner of the big table. We both had the Swedish meatballs and were very happy we did. The mash is super smooth and the meatballs and gravy are bloody lovely. The Swedish chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream was also very good indeed.

We had a great time at Tradition! The food is incredible a nice mix between traditional Swedish dishes with a twist. The service is very friendly and the value for money too!
