We visited the seafood buffet at the Grand Hôtel and paid 1,595 SEK per person. At such a price, we expected an impressive and abundant spread of seafood, with variety and a sense of indulgence. Instead, the reality was quite different: the selection was surprisingly limited – just a few options of shrimp, oysters, and some lobster – and it all felt rather sparse. The plates provided were extremely small, forcing us to return multiple times just to put together a modest portion. Overall, the buffet came across as stingy rather than generous, and it simply lacked the feeling of abundance that a seafood buffet at this level should deliver. The atmosphere itself was pleasant and our waitress she was excellent, but the dining experience did not live up to the grand expectations set by the venue or the price. With the addition of a bottle of wine, the final bill came to an astronomical 4,300 SEK – and it was hard not to walk away feeling that the value simply wasn’t there.

Great views of stockholm, friendly service. Elaborate and very tasty dishes. Obviously expensive as part of the grand hotel but worth a visit.

Really fantastic place to eat. I was a little embarrassed to realize that I had underestimated the poshness of the place when I booked a reservation. My wife, brother, and 18 month old son arrived in jeans and sweaters and most other guests were wearing more fancy clothes. We also don't have a lot of fine dining experience but the wait staff (Roland especially) made us feel so welcome. They explained everything, never looked down their noses at our questions, laughed with us, were friendly to our baby, and made great food recommendations. We got the three course meal. It was wonderful. Very expensive for what we're used to but it was fun to splurge. The main course was great but it was the dessert that really made the meal. It was a meringue with strawberry and vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce, and jam. Literally the best ice cream dessert I've ever had. Doormen, coat checkers, waiting staff were all incredibly nice and helpful. Will definitely come back again next time, very eager to try their afternoon tea.

Not the best. Don’t let the pics fool you, it was not great. The cold smoked fish dishes were very good, however the hot food was lacking. There was no cold cuts, no cake, no ice cream, no eggs with caviar, not much of anything really. Further only two kinds of cheese, and no dressing for the salad. For a place that was well loved by many travel and food writers it fell short. Desserts tasted like thawed it frozen pre-mates. Not a shock that is was darned near empty at 6pm on a Friday.

Stunning views, friendly staff, fluffy scones, sumptuous cakes and thoughtfully crafted tea blends - the sun shining was bonus! I would happily visit Restaurant Verandan every weekend with my family but remember to book in advance because it it’s very popular. I was sincerely grateful the restaurant was able to provide delicious alternative sandwiches to pork and were very attentive to us. This delightful venue is excellent for afternoon tea with a little slice of heaven

SWEDISH CUISINE TOUCHED BY LUXURY AND A PERFECT WATERFRONT VIEW OF THE PALACE AND GAMLA STAN (OLD TOWN)!!!! Mika the Maitre'D greeted us with a gracious hello and although we did not have reservations led us to a beautiful romantic waterfront table that boasted incredible views all along the waterfront including the Palace and most of Old Town (Gamla Stan). You have to try the freshly made Lavosh (they have 2 sorts) they bring to the table as even those who are not lovers of Knäckebrot will really enjoy these 2 varieties. The menu is a mix of classic Swedish cuisine with a luxurious twist as well as some lovely Scandinavian specialties so whether you are a meat, fish or vegan diner you will something that you will enjoy.. They have a great variety of wine and cocktails as well as a great dessert menu. You have to try the Cloudberries with almond crisp and french vanilla ice cream---a true Swedish dessert worth its calories). Our server was very good at anticipating our needs and everything came out of the kitchen looking both great visually as well as being the perfect temperature. We enjoyed trying a few items from the menu and sharing them amongst ourselves to try as much of the menu as possible. A lovely place for couples, families, friends of business associates. Relaxed yet elegant and upscale. The views are truly cinematic.

The buffet is only available on weekend. The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful. I was given a “tour” for the food area, with advices on what I must try as the most tradition Swedish bread and cheese. For the herring dishes, they offer a lot of varieties. Also got suggestions of what would be the most acceptable by people who are not used to the smell of herrings Food is great and delicate. Even though they look simple but the taste and quality is so good. The view is great. Big windows beside the river, seeing the sky and palace. Really enjoyed this dining experience

Stunning ambiance as an enclosed Veranda style space with glass windows over looking the water, palace, etc. Smorgasbord food quality was excellent and replenished frequently. Except for desserts. They weren't replaced. So them early. Table location, once again for a Solo traveler, was horrible. Locals and Middle Easterners seem to get the best spots.
