We visited the seafood buffet at the Grand Hôtel and paid 1,595 SEK per person. At such a price, we expected an impressive and abundant spread of seafood, with variety and a sense of indulgence. Instead, the reality was quite different: the selection was surprisingly limited – just a few options of shrimp, oysters, and some lobster – and it all felt rather sparse. The plates provided were extremely small, forcing us to return multiple times just to put together a modest portion. Overall, the buffet came across as stingy rather than generous, and it simply lacked the feeling of abundance that a seafood buffet at this level should deliver.
The atmosphere itself was pleasant and our waitress she was excellent, but the dining experience did not live up to the grand expectations set by the venue or the price. With the addition of a bottle of wine, the final bill came to an astronomical 4,300 SEK – and it was hard not to walk away feeling that the value simply wasn’t there.
