The food service was decent, but the highlight was the atmosphere and the amazing location near the picturesque houses by the Donau bridges – a very tourist-friendly spot. However, the prices felt a bit steep for the portion sizes, which were quite small. Additionally, the vegan options were minimal and somewhat unconventional.

Very good restaurant. The fish was fresh (I usually don't order trout, as there are too many bones, but I decided to try it and it was very good - despite the many bones, but that's unavoidable). The dorade royal was also excellent, and the wine as well. Picturesque setting, beautiful bridge nearby for lovely photos. Highly recommended!

I rarely give five stars, but this place deserves it. We seated on the bridge, having nice view, even though it’s crowded it’s not bothering. The food arrived quickly, it was fresh and very delicious, portions are good size. Staff is kind and child friendly, they provided high chair for our toddler. The only unpleasant aspect was the many flies and insects coming on our food. I highly recommend this place!

I didn't know that this restaurant was Hebert von Karajan's favorite restaurant. I didn't even expect anything until I went inside and saw the menu. They interior is very cozy. I have to say the fish is really crazy fresh. The seasoning and salad was also perfect. If I go again I would definitely do a reservation. I didn't do a reservation but thankfully we had a table for 1hr and 20min. The food was so delicious I could come to this restaurant every time I come to Ulm. They accept cash and cards.

Fantastic time in this cozy place! We had the trout menu, which was fabulous. Will definitely be back to try other dishes. Very attentive service was the icing on the cake. Thanks!

Great place with lots of history in every wooden door and low ceiling. The fish is cooked perfectly with juicy flesh and amazingly crispy skin. Do book ahead of time, especially on busy days as the place inside is not very big.

Beautiful historic building with an equally awesome and beautiful interior. Loved the wooden floors and old wooden doors. Service was amazing and top quality. Homemade bread was served with three different kinds of spread including butter, an herb cheese, and goose fat with caramelized onions. Had the roasted goose for an entree and it was incredible. The skin was perfect and crispy and all the sides were just as delicious too. Would highly recommend that dish, especially if you've never eaten goose before.

Good Food, nice service personnel, comfortable environment and surrounding. It's a place my family and me would absolutely like to visit again.

Yelp
We stopped in here for lunch and loved it. It's a quaint old building next to the stream and the interior is very charming and cosy. It's largely seafood with a handful of Schwabian dishes and meat dishes. The choice for vegetarians is also quite ok. The menu has a lot of fish dishes and I decided to settle for the chefs teller. I also had the opportunity to taste the dishes from the other three at our table. I loved the mixed seafood plate and for €25 it was a bargain. High quality seafood costs a lot in this country and for what I ate, I would happily pay that again. The taste was superb and the fish cooked to perfection. The Forelle and the Norwegian salmon were also excellent and cooked to perfection. There are a few desserts here and I tried the Apfelküchl which was also quite ok. Coffee is not bad and the service was quick and friendly. It's a touristy restaurant as it's located in the area with old historical buildings but, the food was good and of high quality. I would happily come here again anytime. Good seafood is hard to find in this country and this place does it very well :-))

Yelp
Bustling with activity indicates it is popular and thriving restaurant. Highly recommend reserving a table to assure a seat. We were able to score an outside table. The menu is weighted towards fish offerings which was fine for us. I had fried trout with boiled parsley potatoes with a side of almonds and butter to season the fish. The trout was flaky and tender. My wife had the Zander fillet accompanied by boiled potatoes. She had two nicely seasoned filets with broccoli. Service here was good but you could tell they were stretched thin as they rushed about. If you are in a hurry look elsewhere but if patient you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
The setting of this restaurant is enchanting, nestled amongst other crooked old buildings , with the distinctive character found in the fischerplatz area. The dinning area is lovely and oozing of rustic charm but the low ceilings and cramped quarters might make some feel a bit claustrophobic. Also, with a full house, which would be often the case, will make the space very warm. Although the food, traditional German fare, appears simple in its execution, the quality of the ingredients and the service makes an evening at Zur Forelle a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Yelp
Had a fabulous lunch here. Would have given 5 stars but it may be that I was just overwhelmed by the situation in which we found ourselves. Dining outside in the middle of a Spring thunderstorm. Still the waiter could not have been more accommodating. And the food really was quite good. My white asparagus with hollandaise was delicious, although probably only available at certain times of the year. My wife's fish soup was also amazing. The restaurant is a little more expensive than some of the others in town, but well worth the extra expense.

Yelp
Absolutely gorgeous ! Our waitress was super attentive and friendly. The food was great. A bit pricey but that is to be expected due to the ambience. Would highly recommend!
