The building that houses a Sagres, on the left, also has a small bar and sandwich/pasta shop on the right. Both are run by the same people, but the hours and menu are different. We never had the chance to eat at the sandwich/pasta side, but what we saw coming out to those tables looked fantastic.
As for a Sagres; it was one of our favorite meals of the trip. We got there just before the restaurant was opening for lunch (shoulder-season + later Portuguese mealtimes meant that planning to have lunch before 12:30 or 1:00 was a fool's errand), but the guys in the bar side sat us and got us drinks to hold us over until a Sagres opened. The owner himself was the server, and he was incredibly gregarious and friendly, and like pretty much everyone working in the restaurants in the area, spoke great English.
The food did take a little while to come out, but it was worth the wait. The sea bream was fantastically fresh and grilled, and the octopus rice was amazing. I had visions of octopus fried rice, but it was more like a seafood-tomato stew with rice and octopus. The octopus also tasted fresh, and the rice was cooked absolutely perfectly with just the faintest hint of bite to it. I don't normally like octopus, but this was good.
Overall a great meal, reasonably priced, and conveniently located at the end of the main road through Sagres. If we're ever back in the area, we will certainly be back here for another meal.
