"How did it strike you on arrival?Fairmont Rey Juan Carlos I is situated amid more than 250,000 square feet of lush, palm-tree-studded gardens—it's impossible not to feel calm and serene from the moment you arrive. What’s the crowd like?A good mix of forty-something businesspeople and travelers. Gentlemen in modern suits but no tie and ladies in elegant pantsuits with heels. Tell us about your room. For the best views of the city, book a Fairmont Deluxe room on a high floor. From your window, you’ll be able to see the Royal Polo Club next door, Camp Nou, the green hilltop of Montjuïc, and all across the Eixample district and Gothic Quarter down to the glittering Mediterranean. How are the beds?A choice of two queens or one king-size bed. The sheets are 100 percent cotton and the pillows, quilts, and beds are all Fairmont's in-house brand. Guests from the U.S. and Canada can even buy them online. How are the bathrooms? The best thing about the bathrooms is that every room, across all categories, is fitted with both a bath and shower, so you don't have to choose between a quick shower or a long, relaxing bath. Products are by Le Labo, a high-end perfumer with a devoted following of jet-setters. Is there Wi-Fi?High-speed Wi-Fi is available throughout hotel free of charge. Anything stand out about other services and features?Fairmont Rey Juan Carlos I is a resort hotel set amid gardens with a lake and swans, two outdoor pools (open in summer), as well as a spa and fitness center. Take one of the culinary workshops on offer—they range from Catalan wine tastings and healthy cooking to Christmas cookie decoration for children. B·24 restaurant is open 24/7 and serves tapas and Mediterranean cuisine. If you want to tan while you eat, you can order your summer lunches from the Pool Restaurant & Lounge straight to your deck chair. What was most memorable about your stay?If you don’t mind staying a 20-minute metro or taxi ride from the city center, the Fairmont Rey Juan Carlos I can offer the best of both worlds: a relaxing resort hotel that's well outside the hustle and bustle of Barcelona’s tourist mayhem, but still close enough to everything you want to see. Bottom line: worth it?The Fairmont Deluxe room is a great value." - Isabelle Kliger

My wife and I stayed at your beautiful hotel for our honeymoon in 2018. We had a magnificent time in and outside of the Hotel. The hotel breakfast was accommodating of of our plant based diet. We were able to find something to eat to help us start are day each morning. The hotel bar served delicious olives + nuts with our drinks. The olives easily would convince me to stop by the bar to enjoy a nice cognac and chat with my wife and staff. I enjoyed the olives so much so that I asked the bartender the brand and type of olives there were serving. The staff jokingly withheld and responded stating that they can’t tell me but it’ll give me a reason to come back! Over 5 years later, I’m still on the hunt for these amazing olives, I would be very much grateful if you could provide me with a brand name, olive type or picture of the olive container such that I can enjoy these for a lifetime. We will never forget our time here and how amazing the staff was in honoring our honeymoon. I read the hotel may be closed temporarily but I’m hoping this is in fact temporary because I’d very much love to visit again.

Stayed here back in 2016 and remember it to be a very good experience. The hotel was very clean and modern and the staff were all pleasant and attentive. Loved the swimming pools and the breakfast dining section, which had a lovely breakfast.

I really liked this place. Here's why. Pros: -Big rooms -many amenities -much sun light from the ample window in your room -good breakfast but not great -beautiful lobby, massive is the correct adjective. -very kind guest services, very thorough answering your questions, in good good English. -beautiful outside parking with ancient olive trees. Signature trees of Spain and Mediterranean heritage. -tennis courts downstairs opposite the entrance -4 minute walk to the metro station, very well connected to the city center. However at night you'll need a taxi. Metro stops at 12 if I'm not mistaken. -The room is well decorated and feels close to premium. -great gym and swimming pool. Cons: -beds are too firm -sometimes two beds are put together so you don't get the king-size in every room. For someone it might not be okay. -you can hear things from the next room, the walls are thin. -The shower was broken and needs a lot of Maintainance, slow flow of water forces you to stick to the cold wall cause it's the only way to rinse your body. You cannot direct the flow cause the shower head is fixed and doesn't move. -The shampoo, body gel, conditioner have a very strong scent and a consistency that doesn't wash off. It's a very big pain. Couldn't use it so I had to buy mine. Overall a good hotel, I do recommend it.

Clean, room specious, location a bit away from the centre, but it has good transport around. Staff is ok, but they need to give more info about hotel facilities as they just inform us about room upgrade and breakfast. I had good nights sleep. Beds are good. They need to have machine for coffee as most of 5 star hotels stop serving instant coffee. Their toiletries are good. Furnitures are ok, but they need to pay attention for the worn ones. Decorations and designs are ver good. Overall, I will stay again if I decided to come again to Barcelona

The SPA is a bit outdated and need some maintenance, there were stains in the walls. The massage was a bit short than I expected but this could be just my sensation because it was nice, I didn’t check the timing. The staff is nice, they try to make you happy every moment. The worst thing is that the SPA is gendered, so if you use the facilities normally you will be without your partner, and that’s very awkward because I enjoy doing this beside my gf.

The place is of fantastic decor of lights, and the local DJ alexis has a marvellous taste in music! He can always make your spirit high The rooms are spacious and very well designed. The higher floors are more comfortable. The reception was friendly and helpful. The food , well, focus on the fish more. The beef is not Spain’s forte. The design will remain a strong memory, with the lighting that is mesmerising. Pay attention at the reception’s piano-key mirrors that are All redesigned. It is very interesting and second life. It has some shops that are attached to the hotel There is a pool (small) and a spa and a gym. However you have to exit the hotel door and re-enter from the other side (not too practical if the weather is not too friendly outside) The polo club is also nearby but you need appointments The tennis is also available. In all: a “all inclusive hotel” with a name that shines.

Nice personnel, nice park with a pool and a pond with a swan, nice view (you can see the sea). The Barcelona Congress Center is next door. Yes, the bathroom is small but not a problem for me as it is well-equipped and functional. I recommend the hotel.

Breathtaking hotel - luxurious comfort and an amazing experiencing being cared for by the team at Fairmont Rey Juan Carlos. Checked in after midnight and staff were friendly and helpful in getting me settled. Getting my bag wrap removed from my bags and making sure I am comfortable for the evening. Amazing views and great location. Rooms have absolutely everything you could need, slippers, gowns, toothbrush, etc and you can call down for complimentary items you may have forgotten. Taxi's are usually on site so never a long wait to get around the city.
