Restaurante Boca do Mar

Let me start by saying that the views of Sao Martinho do Porto from this restaurant are amazing. Food was pretty good. We had a sea bass for 2 that was done perfection. Portions are pretty good. That’s where it ends. Service leaves lots to be desired. Started off with the cowl face and entrance of the host. Then it goes down from there. The servers were very brisk and not helpful in anyway. They need training and guidance and will not get it from what we saw. It’s a good food place. But don’t expect much service.

We had a great experience here, but we came early, before 8 p.m., on a Thursday. Looking at some other reviews I guess it really depends on the day/time you go. For us it was great we had great service the food came quickly and was very delicious! The mint in the Sangria gave it a fresh feeling. We asked for no sugar and our request was respected. Thank you!

Don’t be misled by the catch of the day, it’ll be you! They will charge you per fish at more than 30 euros each for a small fish that in any other restaurant would be less than half that price. Staff need to learn how to be customer friendly. We were treated as tourists despite having lived here for 10 years. Save your money for somewhere that is worthy.

The previous review was correct, they steer you toward catch of the day and charged us 56 euros for a fish that would barely feed one person. My wife left hungry. Shill outside that brings in customers is also the waiter. He was extremely rude and rushed us to order food.Also ambiguous to my gluten allergy. Ended up with a piece of fish and boiled vegetables. Huge scam,ripoff!

Salmon loin was incredible, came with fresh vegetables and a potato apple mash, wasn’t my favourite tasted more like apple sauce but highly recommend this meal. Also had the lobster rice for 2 which was also amazing but a bit on the salty side, and stuffed crab for a starter which was super fishy dont recommend.

Really great food and beautiful restaurant with a perfect view of the beach. This restaurant is more upscale than most in the area and serves authentic Portuguese food with a touch of elegance. Food and drinks are great -one of my favorite places in the area.

Perfect place for family with great selection of meat, fish and vegetables. Perfectly cooked for hungry soul.
