Restaurante Café Mediterráneo

Our family of four had an exceptional dinner on a late evening after arriving in La Fortuna. The location is just up the road from the main street with plenty of parking. The staff were very friendly and made excellent recommendations. The huge pizzas are made fresh, topped with the best ingredients and baked in a wood fire oven. Do not skip on the spaghetti carbonara, yes it is that good.

My wife and I had a wonderful dinner at this place. A warm welcome at the door, great service and fantastic food.

Good food and great service! We came as a group of 8 without a reservation and they were able to seat us immediately (it’s not super crowded in La Fortuna right now). Our food came out quickly as well. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food wasn’t the best we’ve ever had, but still pretty solid!

Overall really good experience! We gave this place a 4/5 stars because it was good but not the best Italian food we’ve ever had. The place definitely had a romantic feel like we were expecting and the service was excellent - our servers were awesome! I ordered the Pasta Carbonara (which I believe they used cream in) and my wife the Salmon and mashed Potatoes (not pictured). Everything was really good but a little under seasoned. It was definitely a very large portion of salmon for the price - which is definitely a win!Would recommend for a nice romantic dinner that still isn’t too expensive.

It was really busy when we got here and decided to wait to be seated. We ordered a pizza and it was worth the wait!

Everything we ordered was delicious and the presentation worth a picture. Service was fantastic and the relaxed and comfortable vibe of this rustic yet charming open air restaurant. Bonus views of Arenal Volcano from our table. Highly recommend. We also ordered pizza for take out on another stop in and it was fast and who doesn’t love a wood oven pizza.

Wow! We were tired and stopped by for a take out order. While I was waiting outside with the kids, the server came to give us some limonade the he had just prepared with fresh herbs. Best limonade I ever drinked!! Need to try yo copy this recipe back home. The food was also excellent, the spaghetti is probably the best I had in my life too, if not, certainly in the top 3. Never expected to find the best spaghetti in the world in Costa Rica!!

The food and atmosphere are great. There is an area for kids to play while you eat or wait for your food if you’re getting takeout. The staff is friendly. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a good spot to grab a bite in La Fortuna
