Restaurante Carmen de Aben Humeya in Granada is a wonderful dining experience with a view to match. We arrived close to closing time, yet the staff welcomed us warmly and treated us with incredible attentiveness and care throughout the evening. The service truly stood out: gracious, patient, and thoughtful in every detail. The food was equally impressive. We started with the sampler of assorted cheeses and jams, which was beautifully presented and full of rich, balanced flavors. The lamb tagine was a standout dish -- tender, aromatic, and deeply satisfying. The salmon was perfectly cooked, fresh, and flavorful, rounding out a well-curated and memorable meal. Combined with its romantic setting and scenic views over the Alhambra and the city, Carmen de Aben Humeya offers not just dinner, but an experience. It’s the kind of place where you feel taken care of, where the food and atmosphere linger in your memory long after you’ve left. Highly recommended for a special night in Granada.

Food was excellent. Recommend Lamb tagin and beef sirloin, both were just amazing. Followed by the bass. Service was underwhelming for the price. But atmosphere was good.

Excellent dishes with great flavor. Particularly loved the shrimp carpaccio and the fried eggplants. The view was incredible especially at sunset

Very romantic atmosphere, perfect for couples. Amazing view of the Alhambra palace. Colours of the Alhambra at sunset were the highlight of the evening. Book well in advance. The lamb tangine was very tender and full of flavour.

What a wonderful evening with fabulous food. We booked for dinner and arrived to the most spectacular views of the Alhambra as the sun was setting. The staff were welcoming and super friendly. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. The portions are big so beware, we were very well fed by the end of our meal. The food came out at a perfect pace and we did not feel rushed at all. After the meal we walked around the garden area which was truly magical. We had such a wonderful meal and will definitely return again soon. Thank you

We stumbled upon this place by chance and were fortunate to be seated at a table with an absolutely breathtaking view. Truly a hidden gem in Granada, this restaurant offers one of the best scenic backdrops for a romantic dining experience. The food lives up to the setting—our tuna was perfectly prepared, showcasing exceptional freshness, and the wine selection was equally impressive. Don’t miss the fried eggplant, a local specialty that adds a delightful touch to the meal. The combination of the stunning view, delicious food, and fine wine makes it well worth the price. Whether for a cozy lunch or an intimate dinner, it’s the perfect spot to create unforgettable memories.

Great views on the balcony but communications with restaurant was difficult to acquire those seatings. Instead of telling us frankly that balcony seats have all been reserved weeks before our dinner date, their WhatsApp replies simply stopped when we asked to confirm balcony seating. No answer on phone calls and no call back despite many msgs left and attempts to get in touch. Nevertheless, the food here is better than average despite the disappointment in seating arrangement after flying 21hours to get here.

I made a Reservation for my birthday (a few months in advance) and I have to say that I could not find a better restaurant to celebrate it while visiting Granada. First thank you to Javier for getting us the best table. Second, the food was beyond delicious and well prepared. Chef did an outstanding job. Third, the view. This view is unbeatable. If you are visiting Granada and want to enjoy a culinary experience together with an unforgettable view, you won’t get disappointed making a reservation at Restaurante Carmen De Aben Humeya. And last but not least, the staff is amazing. Thank you all for this unforgettable experience. I hope we can come back soon.

Yelp
This was my best meal and eating experience during my whole visit to Spain. Definitely make a reservation! I ordered the basmati rice with chicken and had the cheesecake for dessert; I also ordered a tinto de verano to drink. The views of the Alhambra are just stunning and the carmen's patio and gardens are really lovely. Excellent customer service, too--I arrived late for my reservation due to a traffic issue (traffic in the Albaicín can be challenging, plan ahead!) and Natalia was very kind to hold my table and allow me to order close to the kitchen's closing time. I can't praise this place enough, it was a truly spectacular meal and atmosphere. Can't wait to go back to Granada and eat here again.

Yelp
Carmen de Aben Humeya's outdoor dining space and garden overlooks the Alhambra, and having dinner here is an unforgettable experience, thanks to the views alone! Make reservations in advance and arrive before sunset so you can see the Alhambra as it's lit up at night! Starting with our apertif, our friendly server brought us bread (a generic roll), Spanish extra virgin olive oil, a smoked pork hummus, and tiny pieces of Salchichon, a Spanish cured sausage. We continued with our entrees, which were quite hard for us to select, given the diversity and creativeness of the dishes! Our waitress recommended the dried octopus from Motril (Spain)--the chopped pieces of octopus and the crispy tentacles sat on a creamy, smoked potato and zucchini puree. The preserved octopus was delicious, though the dish overall was quite salty and could have been better balanced in flavor. We also got the fall-apart tender stewed beef cheeks, served with a cheese puree and fried green peppers. This dish was also tasty, but like the octopus, was quite salty and felt somewhat monotonic after a while. Come to this place for its views and fantastic service! Its food is creative and interesting as well, though the portions are somewhat small, and the flavors could have used more balance.

Yelp
Carmen Aben Humeya is located in the Albaicin district in Granada with great views of the Alhambra. This place is a MUST during your stay in Granada. The highlight of the meal was the grilled sea bass that was cooked perfectly with the skin that came out perfectly crispy. The wife had the grilled iberico, which was slightly overcooked so that was disappointing. For dessert, the white chocolate soup was refreshing and sweet at the same time. Also the creme brulee was explained to us that it was different from a traditional creme brulee in that it used banana instead. It seemed like a play on banana bread pudding, which was highly enjoyable. The desserts were all really good. They do offer dessert tasting which sounded tempting. The presentation, quality of the dishes were exceptional and on-par with many other fine-dining restaurants. We also enjoyed the service, which makes this restaurant a necessary stop during your visit. #SPAIN #VIEWS

Yelp
We stumbled across this place shortly after arriving in Granada. We were so glad we did. My first positive experience was when I told the waitress to bring a glass of red wine that she'd recommend. I was very happy with the local red wine that she selected. We were already in love with the starter - a cold mango and garlic soup. I don't know which genius decided those two things go together, but that was the most amazing soup I've had in recent memory. The food itself was also quite incredible and quite unique, at least to me. To finish things off, we ordered the sampler plate of all desserts. Walking back home was painful but well worth it. All this while overlooking Alhambra under a starry, warm night sky.

Yelp
Come here for an outdoor daytime seating on the patio terrace as you gaze across the hill to see the magnificant landscape of the "Alhambra". It's quiet, hidden, and not loud or touristy. Food only served from 13:00-16:00 and 20:00-22:30. Summer heat - closed on Wednesday during the summer. Closed Tuesday evening. CALL OR PLAN AHEAD. Enjoyed my Tinto de Verano here. http://www.abenhumeya.com/index_en.html

Yelp
Amazing food at a reasonable price and the view of the Alhambra is priceless. We decided to have dinner here after reading reviews on yelp and were not disappointed. We sat on the terrace watching as the lights came on on the Alhambra. Two of us had a bottle of local wine (excellent), salads and main dishes for 74 Euros. We would have loved to have tried their desserts, but too full. I had the sweet chicken in pastry with basmati rice-Moroccan inspired-subtle spices-delicioso! Highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
We stumbled into this place by accident while looking for somewhere to get off our feet. It is exactly the sort of lucky discovery that makes travel so fun. The restaurant has an amazing view of the Alhambra across the valley of the Darro river, comfortable seating, and friendly, helpful servers. In many cases, those would be the key features. Not here. The food was uniformly outstanding. The pate plate and walnut and cheese salads were outstanding. The desert, a selection of cremes (similar to mousse), was amazing. We had the good luck to meet the chef, a lady from Argentina, to thank her. I would never be close to Granada again without going to this place. One of the two best restaurants we have eaten at in our weeks in Spain. Highly recommended

Yelp
As Jimmy Butler says about his Chicago Bulls sock monkey: five stars. Or, as they say here, cinco estrellas.
