I'm a visiting American who saw this restaurant recommended in Lonely Planet and am so glad I stopped - not only was the service friendly, the food was delicious. In particular, they had one clearly labeled vegetarian option and one vegan option.
To get to try the vegetarian version of a Minas classic - feijao - was a treat. Fair warning: I did not confirm what the pork rind-looking things on top were actually made of; I skipped them in favor of what I think were yellow plantains cooked in their skin. And I still left a lot of food on the plate - could have easily split the dish between two hungry people. Terrific, affordable meal.
I went in around 2:30pm on Sunday; no wait for a table but plenty busy. It then emptied out around 3pm.
