While the atmosphere was nice, this high priced meal fell short of expectation’s. First of all, one of the servers had a bad cold with a runny nose and red eyes. He shouldn’t have been there. We observed him grabbing his runny nose, then proceeded to grab silverware for customers. Thankfully he was not our server. My husband ordered the suckling fried pig and it was merely crackling with feet intact. Very dry. I ordered the Monk Fish with shrimp, and it was very undercooked. (See photo) Lastly, they appeared to not particularly care for us 2 Americans. We are easy folks. The only really friendly person was the tall slim gentleman in the white chef jacket and jeans that circulated around the restaurant. He was great!!!! We questioned if he was really the chef, or if we was hired to pretend to be since he was out front so often. Best part of the meal was the wine.

Amazing place, very cozy and well decorated.giving you the vibe of an old authentic Spanish restaurant. Food and dessert are very tasty. We got lamb suckling chops and pork suckling chop. Both grilled perfectly and taste very good. House wine is tasty! For the dessert we had puff pastry and taste like heaven! Really recommend this place

Authentic local restaurant with a long history. They serve local specialties in a traditional setting. We had the judiones de la granja, the cochinillo which is the suckling pig, and chorizos. They were all really delicious.

Took the tasting menu. Very good and good value. Restaurant was very quiet when we went, decor is authentic.

Don't come to this place unless you want to feel nauseous for the rest of your day. The food was filled with fat and the egg in the soup was raw when it first arrived at the table (the urge to throw up was way too big when I saw this and I forgot to take a picture of the completely raw egg in the middle of the bowl). The servers were nice though and they spoke english.

Visited with family. Great setting in the heart of town. Amazing cochinillo and Segovian snaks. Super friendly, helpful staff and great service. PS Sorry for the spilt wine)

Love the restaurant and atmosphere. The decour is all original and takes you back 150 years. They also have a wine cellar that probably dates back similar amount of time. I think it's ran by the 4th and 5th generation of the original master chef and his great great grand son works here serving tables as everyone else! I had a privilege to see him chopping the sizzling baby pig in front of me. What an experience! Sizzling pig was so soft and juicy. I personally loved it. Chorizo and the blood sausages was excellent too. Tiramisu not so much though. It was one of those very rare experiences where you feel you're in a real good old tavern style restaurant. I felt I was taken back in time and I loved it. Prices are typical for any decent restaurant around here.

This restaurant is located very centrally in Segovia. When you enter, you’re greeted by very friendly staff which are super professional. The restaurant itself is very traditionally decorated. The food served is traditionally Spanish. The Cochinillo is one of the best in Segovia. Highly recommended to also order the starter plate which contains different specialties from the region!

Yelp
Since 1895 this restaurant has been serving delights of Spain to customers. We arrived a little before 14:00 and the crowd, so we had choice seating. Staff were gracious and welcoming to two tourists. Cochinillo was sublime. Whole suckling pig is roasted so the skin is crisp on the surfaces, but moist and flavorful next to the meat. You are served an ample portion of the ribcage. At this age many of the small ribs have not calcified, so they are tender to chew. Succulent and delicious. Tripa are also cooked low and slow so they melt on your tongue. Sauce is majestic. Our waiter was very cordial and we took his advice to close with the ponche, and we were very glad we did. A soufflée with a wisp of orange zest in the ice cream was the perfect closer. Bravo.

Yelp
Duque is one of the oldest restaurants in the world, so we tried it on our trip to Segovia. There are dozens of places to eat as you walk between the Aqueduct and the Cathedral and Castle. Duque is unique in its heritage, its ambience (indoor, white linen table cloths, nicer dresses wait staff), and the offering of the traditional suckling pig. We made reservations and due to a goof on my part we had to delay it a day. They accommodated without a problem and communicated through email. That said, we ate at around 2 pm and I don't think we would have had a problem if we just walked in without a reservation, but this probably depends on the tourist volume and season. My wife and I ordered the large beans and the suckling pig and salad. It was A LOT of food. We really enjoyed the large beans and the traditional cooking approach using a pork extras broth. The suckling pig lives up to its reputation. The meat was super tender and the skin was very crispy. My wife and I couldn't eat all of our portions, but what we did eat was fantastic. We also had the beer and it was quite good. We ended the meal with coffee, which was very good. We did not eat dessert but it looks like they had some good ones. We probably stayed there for about 90 minutes, which was a nice way to take a break from the beautiful but dominant sunshine. This was probably the most expensive place in Segovia to eat, but we thought it was a great experience and value. As a final thought, we didn't do a very good job as English speakers trying to communicate in Spanish, but with context clues and their willingness to talk a bit in English we managed.

Yelp
This is amazing restaurant for hundreds years! I believe their amazing roast baby pig, using the plate to cut the pig then through it to the floor as tradition, makes this restaurant great reputation! If you come to Segovia. Definitely make reservation and try it, hig

Yelp
An historic restaurant (since 1895) in the heart of the old town famous for serving roast baby pig that is tender enough to cut with the edge of a plate-a recipe originally developed to feed the kings of Spain. As a part of our private guided tour, we had lunch here and let our guide choose the food and wine for the meal . To start the restaurant sent some tasty seafood croquettes and some fluffy bread. To start we has roasted vegetables with little bits of salami-like pork. For our main course, we had the special roasted piglet-cooked for 4-hours in a wood burning oven until the skin is cracker crispy. We even got to participate in the special table-side ceremony of dedication of the meal to a loved one, chopping the pig into 6 hunks with a dinner plate then smashing the plate on the floor for health and prosperity. While it was all in Spanish and conducted by the owner, Mariait was still a cool experience. The restaurant itself has a great old-world vibe with waiters in black tuxedos with very proper service. Highly recommended but you may need a reservation.

Yelp
We came here upon a recommendation from our tour guide during our excursion to Segovia. We were greeted upon entry by a staff member and were seated immediately. The main staple is the roasted pig and I noticed many people ordering it. It is a young pig that is roasted for hours. Kind of like veal in comparison. It is supposed to be so tender you can cut it with a plate. I am not a pork eater but it seemed very popular. I love the decor in the restaurant. It is decorated with pictures and other symbols of the area where they live. It had a nice traditional feel. The restaurant was pretty full for lunch about 1 or 2 but there was not many people waiting. My Spanish is okay but there were staff members who can speak English. At first we got a Spanish menu and I could understand most of it. Then, a waiter noticed we were not native speakers and offered an English menu. Most of their dishes contain their traditional flavors which include pork. They have other options as well, so I opted for the salmon. Our food took a little longer than expected so we were offered a free appetizer while we waited. A great place to come to experience traditional cuisine.

Yelp
This was by far the worst restaurant we went to in Spain. They were rude and dismissive of Americans, the food was sub-par (we were most definitely given day old bread), and the service was nonexistent. I had to get up to find a waiter to ask for wine, which they were very rude about, and then when someone finally came over they poured about an ounce of wine into my glass and then left without even asking if anyone else wanted any. I would give zero stars if I could. Avoid if you can -- there are better restaurants just down the road.

Yelp
Our first time in Segovia and our tour guide recommended this place. Wow what a pick that was. The place has a local charm and plenty of tables with nice cold AC. We got the roast pig for one portion which was really good for two. It was juicy and succulent at the same time. You can taste the crunchiness of the skin along with the tender meat itself. When they brought it out, it retained the hot temperature just the way it should be served. They even made some of it into a bean soup which was included. Wow that is a killer dish. We also got the grilled hake fish which they deboned by table side. Lastly got the large bean soup which is a staple. All the dishes were authentic to the locale and a must try for sure. Easily a 5 stars meal and the service was top notch.

Yelp
Been there and had a great dinner. The place is Spanish so what you get is local flavor. If this is what you want, then this is the right place. For example, my wife is fresh off the airplane food and wanted vegetables. The answer of the cooking artist was "No, carne only"( carne is meat in Spanish). And one could sense there was not much flexibility :). I had the roadt pork. It was excellent although carne only :). We had a mixed local platter too as antre and it was also very good. Enjoy.
