After this experience I've decided to avoid touristy restaurants at Tlaquepaque! First and foremost, Joaquin is the best waiter I've had in a while. He was incredibly nice and gave us complimentary drinks after realizing my meat was not cooked as requested. Having said that, the food left much to be desired considering it's a pretty expensive place compared to other stuff around. It took a while to get our food even if the place was barely empty when we came in. The pimiento we ordered as an entrance was so bitter there was really no way to enjoy it. Also, very poorly served! You'll notice from the pictures it doesn't look appetizing at all (at least from my perspective). I ordered an expensive plate of meat with tuetano. The meat was not cooked through (I requested it 3/4s) and was honestly very expensive for what it was. The Chamorro was very good and if you really want to visit this place is the only thing I'd recommend getting not only because it's good but seems to be the only thing that's worthy taking the prices of the menu into account. There are much more yummy and affordable places in Tlaquepaque and specially in Guadalajara which is not far. It's not the fist time I get screwed over by the touristy traps in Tlaquepaque but I'll make sure it's the last one!

Chava e Cassares are the best waiters, they recommend us the food, very nice and polite. Totally recommend the place!

Google
This is the place! Service, food, free margarita (and a good margarita as well). Not crowded today, attentive service. We had tortilla soup, chili rellanoes and a corn torte de elote. The elote was amazing, the soup was the right amount of spice and the rellanoes were super delicious. Special call out for the extensive dessert list. We chose a pear pie ala mode constructed similar to a German apple kueken with layered peach slices on a corn based crust. Exceptional!

This place is amazing!!! The food is great, the drinks are delicious, and it's the best service we've ever found in Tllaqupaque. We visit every time we come here, they always remember us and make the night special. Highly recommended! (Ask for Joaquin, he's our favorite!)

Google
t's just kind of alright. Small menu with some rather unique flare on some of the dishes. I had the Oaxacan enmoladas which were decent, the queso was different having the green sauce but wasn't bad. Overall just not what I was looking for and think I probably should have gone down to Hacienda Canelos.

Google
Excellent restaurant and by far the best service we have had so far. Good for vegetarians: they offer individual creations that are not on the menu!!

Yelp
I had dinner at Casa Fuerte on September 12th, I tried their Almond Buttered Salmon with potato and vegetables. The salmon was well cooked and the almond butter was nice. The ambience of the place was also nice, you get a romantic/fancy vibe del the restaurant. My cousin had their battered shrimp with mole de Jamaica and they were also very good! The service was great!

Yelp
This place was a little hiddem gem date spot for my girlfriend and I. While the price was reasonable the food was incredible. Service - impeccable. Live music added a wonderful vibe. 11/10 Would go again

Yelp
Ate here 3 times during our 7-day stay in Tlaquepaque. Service is excellent. Their mole enchiladas and torta de elote (corn bread) are delicious! Gracias! We'll be back!

Yelp
After lots of walking and being hungry, I decided to try this restaurant for dinner, around 8PM. I chose to eat in the outside patio area. The place was very empty, and I started to get hesitant. There were only 3 other parties dinning, which is usually not a good sign and made me question it. Looks like they just reopened and i'm glad I decided to stay. The atmosphere was quiet and very relaxing. Our sever was very polite, knowledgeable and very attentive. I find it to be on the pricey side for what you get, but also expected since it's a high tourist area. We were served complimentary basket of bread, with butter wrapped in corn husks, salsa and tostadas. I ordered the stuffed chicken cuitlachoche , which is a mushroom grown from corn then topped with calabaza flower sauce. Very unique and yummy. Ps, once I got home, I googled what the mushroom actually looks like and I was pretty grossed out LOL but I'm glad I tried something new. The Tamarindo margarita was highly recommended, but I ordered a paloma instead. Drink was strong and well made. My daughter ordered the Salmon Almendrado, and it was very tasty. The other 2 people in my party ordered the chicken Milanese which was fried to perfection. Came with a delicious side salad and mashed potatoes. Corn cake for dessert was delicious! The only negative thing I would have to say is at host at the outside of the restaurant was advertising a free margarita and free non alcoholic beverage each, with the purchase of a meal. I did not receive this and the waiter never mentioned it. I honestly forgot about it too and remembered once I had already left. Total w tip came out to $97 USD for 4 entrees, 2 horchatas, a margarita,a paloma, and a Caron cake.

Yelp
lovely atmosphere, exceptional service, great menu options, and everything was cooked to perfection. And by USA standard, really affordable.

Yelp
Pleasant experience here. Waiters where outstanding. Kept us well attended and very polite. I'm a vegan and they replaced and substitute to my preference with no hesitation. Ordered the organic ensalada de sandia. It was delicious. Beautiful atmosphere with great music and a touch sound of the water fountain they had. This is a must go if you want to be treated like royalty.

Yelp
Hands down the BEST drink I have ever had. Tamarind Margarita on the rocks. Our food and service were outstanding, but their Tamarind Margarita will in my dreams.

Yelp
A must stop when visiting Tlaquepaque! This is our favorites place when visiting and not only is it delicious but the service is amazing and the atmosphere is beautiful and relaxing! We usually start off with the Queso Fundido with salsa verde. The cheese is always fresh and is served with handmade tortillas. The menu has lots of variety and this most recent time we ordered the Filet de Toro,(which was a meat in a wine sauce), el Sabana (skirt steak with been and cheese cooked on top), and the Sesame Seed Ahi Tuna. For drinks we had the Tamarindo Margaritas which were delicious and refreshing.

Yelp
Perfecto! We wanted a quiet place for dinner (hard to find anywhere ) so we stopped by Casa Fuerte - they turned off the tv & music in the beautiful bar area and we sooo enjoyed our dinner. So we came back a few days later - I had pollo fajitas both times as it was so yummy. My friend had coconut shrimp - yum! - and we both had the wonderful organic green salad with beets, etc. Thank You, Casa Fuerte, and especially Manuel!!!

Yelp
We just had the most delicious lunch here. We have been here years ago and remembered it from our last time. The atmosphere is very relaxing with pleasant music. The inside courtyard is cool and inviting. We had the Tortilla soup to start which was delicious. She had the Short Ribs in a brown grave with a touch of cinnamon. DELICIOUS! The vegetables were cooked to perfection. I had the beef stuffed Pablano Chili which was also delicious. They served homemade tortillas and bread with the meal. We highly recommend this place!

Yelp
Tamarind margaritas are great as are the shirt ribs service good we had a problem with our chicken mole (tough) so waiter gave us 2 free tamarind margaritas AND cheesecake both were great. Live music is a nice touch. The restaurant is an old colonial house with a fountain in the middle its very nice.

Yelp
Wondered in from the main walkway in Tlaquepaque. The atmosphere and service were great, not so much the food. Bit bland in flavor. Back area tables need a bit more ventilation as it got a bit stuffy.

Yelp
Just a quick stop for a couple of margaritas before diving into the shops here in Tlaquepaque.

Yelp
Lovely atmosphere, good service , clean , loved the care asada and enchiladas with green sauce

Yelp
Was recieved well initially however as the dinner was served the food was cold. Waiter was non attentive and forgot to ask if we wanted desert. Place also looks worn and none of the profits are being invested in the business. A nice restaurant shouldn't have a TV in the dinning area. At this rate business won't last. It's a shame could be a great establishment. Definitely not a first date location you will leave a bad impression.

Yelp
Casa Fuerte was a great place to stop and have a relaxing lunch after a long day. We were quickly seated and the servers were very watchful of our needs. The outdoor area was very nicely decorated and we had some live music to go with our food. I ordered a Filete Azteca and it was very good and filling. I went with family and there were no complaints. Price was also very good.

Yelp
Rating this 4 stars because of the exceptional service and decent prices. Food had mixed reviews. Definitely get the Jamaica margarita even though you will be tempted to get the Tamarindo one. The braised beef was amazing. I got the Chile Relleno And it was good but I was hoping it would have had more sauce as it had way too much cheese. The servers are so attentive and very hospitable. The Sopa de Tortilla is also a must. Be careful because when you give your order to the waiter he asks you what do you would like but the soup is an add on, not part of your dish.

Yelp
Had lunch here on our second visit to Tlaquepauque. The restaurant is in a pretty garden and there was 3 men playing soft music. They have great Margaritas and the poblano pepper specialty is excellent. We split 2 types the cheese and the beef. The cheese was good but the beef was amazing. Slightly sweet with a little bit of apple, raisins, pumpkin seeds and ground beef both were coated in flour crust with a wonderful sauce. Very good refried beans and rice. Great chips and salsa. For dessert we had banana bread pudding with vanilla ice cream. Also very good. Great service and very clean too.

Yelp
One of the best meals I've ever had in Mexico. Traditional food executed perfectly. We were there on Dia de Muertos and it was very busy. This is a place the local take their family for a special occasion. Lovely atmosphere and there was live music when we went. Would go every time I come to Guadalajara/Tlaquepaque.

Yelp
This place is a must if you're in the area. We went on a Tuesday afternoon, they were playing live music, very soft and enjoyable! Our server (didn't catch his name) was excellent! He recommended a mezcal drink with passion fruit, and it was delicious. We had the ribs in a vino tinto sauce and my husband had the pollo en mole oxaqueño. Both plates were amazing. The ribs were so soft they fell off the bone, the sauce was amazing and it had a small side of veggies! The mole was also great! Definitely recommend this place

Kevin B.

Yelp
A visit to San Pedro is not complete without a visit to Casa Fuerte. The service is wonderful, but the food is better. The mole is outstanding. I love seafood, the shrimp with seeds and 'jamaica' and the tuna are amazing. We eat here every year when we visit. Almost forgot to mention the tortilla soup.

Yelp
Such a lovely and comfortable place. You get the best Mexican experience with authentic flavorful dishes that will leave you more than satisfied. They attended us to all our needs with great detail, attention, and attitude. I'm very thankful for how pleasant my time here was!
