On November 11, 2024, we discovered this gem by chance, and it exceeded all expectations. The food was outstanding, local cod, soup, Francesinha, lemon pie, and other desserts were all exceptional. The staff, including the owner, were kind and welcoming. The place was spotless, with comfortable seating, well-spaced tables, and a relaxing atmosphere. Service was perfectly timed, and the prices were fair. We highly recommend!

We found this restaurant via Trip Advisor and Lonely Planet. Very quaint restaurant, and though it seems small on the main level, there are plenty of tables upstairs. Traveling with a toddler is very difficult in Portugal, as not many restaurants have food for kids (or not for my picky child). Thankfully, the server (& chef) was happy to provide some bread and cheese for her. This place has the BEST views from all angles of Porto & the bridge....it's easy to fall in love.😍♥️

Literally right next to the iconic bridge! The view is unbeatable. The porto wine is delicious and sweet. The food was delicious. The service was good. European service is different than American. They're more laid back here. It's an adjustment for us. Otherwise great dinning experience.

An afternoon to remember unfolded at Restaurante Dourum. Nestled in Porto, it offered the perfect lunchtime escape. We dove into Porto's culinary scene with Francesinha, a decadent meat and bread masterpiece, and Bacalau croquettes, delivering explosive bites of creamy codfish goodness. The attentive service added another layer of delight to the experience. If you're looking for a flavorful and fulfilling afternoon, Restaurante Dourum is a must-visit. Highly recommend!

The service and location were great, besides the occasional loud cars passing by. The food wasn’t too special but I wouldn’t say I hated it. I tried the Cod “a Portuguese” which I didn’t particularly like (3/10) and would say it was rather okay. My brother tried the Francesina and said it was good (7.5/10) and really liked the combination of the sauce and cheese. The charcuterie board might have been our favorite out of the dishes we have tried with its variety of meats and cheeses.

We found this place just focusing to our instinct. The Food was excellent, the owner and the staff very kind. We had local cod and soup and francesinha. We also had lemon pie and another local desserts. The place was clean, the music was not loud and the interior table was well managed, the seats comfortable and great for different size of people. Also the table was not close each other. The waiting time was well balanced between the different starters. Fair price.

My main dish of grilled octopus was superb, as was the lemon tart dessert. Service was good and friendly. It’s a lovely space inside too. I have to mark it only a 4 star though as the salt cod croquettes had obviously been made in advance, frozen then reheated in the microwave.

We'd spotted this place a day before our visit, so decided to stop for lunch after our 6 bridge River cruise. We were not disappointed with service, the location or the food & wine! We chose the sharing cheese board, the shrimp rissols & paired it with a white Piano douro wine. Catarina our waitress was kind, friendly and knowledgeable. We would recommend a visit, we sat outside with the beautiful view of the river & bridge.

Yelp
We just got to the other side of the river after walking down the roadway and this was one of the first places we walked by. After initially stopping and looking at the menu outside, and being greeted by a young man we walked on as his engagement skills left a fair bit to be desired. We looked at a couple of other places further along and decided to go back and give it a try. Again the same young man as we walked in, and first asked if we were going to eat, or just drink? Not a great start, as we planned on having lunch. Some training would be a good idea on the welcoming guests front in our opinion. From there it was smooth sailing as we got a couple of Super Bocks, and ordered a shared samosa dish that was filled with egg roll filling which was odd. We also ordered a shared chicken dish that came with a nice salad and fries. Given our initial impressions I expected blowback on the shared orders, but thankfully there was none. The food was very good, out quickly, and piping hot! Another Super Bock each and we were out of there for $23.50 euros, which we felt was very reasonable given where we were in a very touristy area. It's at one end of the promenade, so if you are starting at the far end, you'll likely have chosen something else by the time you get that far. If however, you walk across the transit bridge it'll be one of the first restaurants you encounter. There is an upstairs seating area that was empty, that house impeccably clean restrooms that require a code to get into. The outside hawker, was very timid as well, which makes it tough to get people in the door. Some top notch training for the staff on getting and retaining an afternoon lunch crowd, and Restaurante Dourum should have a queue down the block. Oh, and even more oddly the signage does not match the bill you are given. The food is good, the service and experience need to match the food. In spite of all of the inconsistencies the food and possibilities warrant a four star review from us.

Yelp
Between our two port cellar tours, we needed some lunch. Along the river on the Nova de Gaia side of Porto, there are TONS of restaurants catering to tourists...keep walking... this is at the end of the main street (toward the bridge), and worth the extra 3 minute walk. It's a little pricier than the others, but AGAIN...WORTH IT. We ordered codfish fritters which were the BEST we've had while here in Porto, followed by two steaks - both were perfectly cooked, and perfectly seasoned (now that's a Christmas miracle) - We had initially turned down the bread - but after seeing the olive oil around my plate...I asked for it. Nothing on on our plates was an afterthought (potatoes, vegetables) and we finished with a lemon tart (yummy).

Yelp
Terrible service. Went in for drinks and appetizers before wine tour and had a horrible experience at this place. We ordered some cod cakes and one had a long hair baked in. I pulled it out and quickly threw it on the floor in disgust. I advised the waiter and he responded by not believing me and saying no one in the kitchen had long hair. One of the most impolite waiters I have ever seen. Pick one of the other dozens of excellent restaurants along the river in Porto and you will be much better off.
