The worst, yet most expensive, meal of our whole 4 month backpacking trip around South America! A real disappointment on what was supposed to be a special evening celebrating New Year’s Eve in Paraty. It took over 30 minutes for our drinks to arrive and an hour for our starters to arrive. Throughout the whole evening, not once were we asked if we wanted more drinks. When our main had finished, we waited for 45 minutes and no one came over to offer a drink or provide a dessert menu. At this point we ran out of patience and decided to get the bill and leave. When we raised our issues with the owner, we were told that in Brazil customs are different and guests are expected to actively flag down waiters. While we understand service customers differs by country, this should not apply in a popular tourist destination on New Year Eve when guests were expected to pay a premium minimum price per person for a reduced menu. We could have put up with poor service on a busy evening if the food had been good. However, the food itself was terrible - see below image of what was supposed to be 220 reais steak with potato and vegetables. This clearly isn’t value for money and shows the lack of quality. The minimum spend was 480 reais per person + 10% service charge. As the service was so poor we didn’t reach the minimum spend so expected the owner to discount our meal and remove the service charge. But we were told we could order more food to reach the minimum spend as we wouldn’t be given any discount. The owner also failed to advise us that we would be forced to pay an additional 30 reais per person to listen to someone on guitar for 30 minutes! We are well aware of the different cultures, and often more laid back approach to service around South America, but the lack of customer service was very poor. I never write reviews but because of the level of frustration caused and feeling like we were ripped off, it is only fair that people are made aware of how this restaurant operates.

The gluten free pasta was delicious!! The staff were really helpful and happy to talk me through the options. My partner had the Bolognese and I had the Penne Alla Dolce Vita it was just as delicious!! Great gluten free options!

A Taste of Italy This classic Italian restaurant feels like stepping into a charming village straight out of Tuscany. The warm, lively atmosphere sets the perfect stage for the food—each dish is first-class, like the best meal you’ve ever cooked—but better. It’s not just a meal; it’s a mini Italian vacation. And the best part? You don’t even need a passport. Bravo!

The pasta with pesto sauce was ok, but the pasta itself was kind of undercooked and dry. Took forever for my fish to arrive. Would not come back here ever.

I recently dined at Punto Divino, and overall, it was a delightful experience. From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable—attentive, friendly, and professional without being intrusive. The ambiance was elegant and inviting, with a cozy yet refined atmosphere that made for a lovely evening out. The food was, without a doubt, the highlight. The dishes were beautifully presented, and the flavors were bold and perfectly balanced. I particularly enjoyed the Gnocchi which was cooked to perfection and paired with an exceptional wine recommendation from the sommelier. It was clear that the ingredients were of the highest quality, and the chefs took great care in their preparation. That said, while the food and service were top-notch, the prices were a bit on the high side. While I don’t mind paying for quality, the bill did feel a bit steeper than I expected for the portion sizes and offerings. It’s the kind of place where you’ll pay a premium for the experience, which, in many ways, is justified, but it may not be somewhere you visit frequently if you're on a budget. In conclusion, Punto Divino offers a fantastic dining experience with outstanding food and service, but be prepared to spend a little extra for the privilege. If you're looking for a special occasion or a memorable meal, it’s worth the splurge.

Excellent everything! We had our last meal at paraty at Punto Divino and there is no word enough to say how good the food was! We thoroughly enjoyed everything, the freshness and quantity of the meal was unmatched and our server was THE best!

Excellent service. Good pizza and parma ham, but pasta average though. Place also quite empty so still wondering why so much personnel... more than guests...

Me and my family went there and saw the reviews of this place, and thought it was as good........... But it isn't really good.......... My wife had the pesto pasta, and it was ok,but, it was hard. They didn't cook it well...... And the pizza and the fish took so long!!!!! And it wasn't really worth the wait..................

Yelp
This was probably the worst meals we had on our two week Brazil trip. Granted we ordered a simple salad as a starter, nevertheless, we did expect something a bit more exciting than a large pile of stale lettuce with two tomatoes hiding at the bottom and no salad dressing of any kind. The pizza was entirely ordinary as well with a hard rubbery crust. Apart from the (lack of) food quality, the ambiance wasn't particularly charming either. We spoke only broken Portuguese but certainly didn't deserve the scorn of the wait staff, who were unanimously curt and borderline rude. The kitchen also kept spewing smoke in our direction which caused some serious eye burn. Not exactly sure what they were cooking, err, burning in there. I pity the customers who had to eat it! In sum, find a different place. My cat can make better food. And she's less grumpy to boot!

Yelp
The pizza is quite good but I would defiantly say easy on the cheese but other than that it is ok. English prices.

Yelp
Punto Divino is a little gem in Paraty. Try the ravioli with pistacchio

Yelp
Very large menu with plenty of options for everyone, including vegetarians like me. We sat outside in the garden area, and there was a live musician playing (there is a cover charge of 8 reais per person if you sit outside). Very relaxing and romantic atmosphere. We shared a bottle of wine and a pizza, and will likely be back soon to try some of the other menu options. Highly recommend!
