Delicious acapulican posole. Apparently posole is a tradition meal for Thursday. Fortunately we found it this morning at this restaurant.

If you want to test mexica food it is a good place to do it. Be careful, some dishes are spicy, so better ask in advance. The people who attend is very friendly and during pandemic they take it seriously, so don’t forget to bring you mask, you are not allowed to enter without it.

I’ve been to Acapulco five times since 2002 and this El Fogon has always been my go-to for a inexpensive meal, great service, and tasty food. My favorite has been their tacos al pastor. They used to have it on a spit near the front of the restaurant, but no more. Last night, for under $10 US dollars (including a 20% tip) I had the al pastor tacos (menu says 3 but I had 4), chips with a variety of salsas (complimentary), a Pacifico, and frozen lime pie.

Good place, the tables are a bit uncomfortable, the mole is very good, the horchata water too.

Yelp
Very friendly and great service. Some plates lacked flavor. I loved the free hour anda half parking and easy access. Tables were a bit close for my comfort.
