What a gem! Ok let me start with the food: best meat I had in Madeira. Period. I ordered medium rare, guess what, I got perfect medium rare. It tasted really got and super tender. Good seasoned and nice crust. The location is locals orientated, but serve of course tourists also. The servers speak good English and very friendly. When I was there they were preparing for a big local party tomorrow. Are there things that can be better? Of course. The place looks a bit out-dated, but it's clean and maintained. They could give maybe grilled half tomato next to meat. They could invest in good steak knives. But all that is just details that doesn't matter compared to the delicious food they serve. Definitely recommend. I wished I stayed longer here, so I could try other items on the menu.

We ordered Tomato Soup - it was really good! But that's all good from this dinner... Fish with Passion Fruit had no taste and Pizza Barbecue was swimming in oil and everything was dripping off it... We'll never go back again

After a half day hiking in the mountain, it was a perfect spot to have a cold and crisp beer on the outside terrace. Good and friendly service.

Everything was excellent, the service was excellent. I totally recommend it! Very good food. I ate limpets as a starter followed by a pepper sauce beef (super tender with sauted vegetables and typical fried corn squares) and finally a maracuja tart. Update: I came back to Madeira for New Year's Eve and a few more days and we came back everyday to eat here. The food is very good, at a good price. The staff is also very nice. The environment is super cosy and familiar. Added new photos of food and cute typical Madeira's house at the entrance of the restaurant :). Big fan!

To be honest in Madeira we've been in 5 different restaurants but the food here in this restaurant was the best. We've ordered mixed salad, bolognese and tropical grill salad what was amazing I loved the sauce on it. The staff was kind and friendly. The service was quick. Altogether It was a really good experience and I would definitely recommend it.

Restaurant had a touristy feel with a good humor ice cream pamphlet on counter. Food was edible but not enjoyable. Tuna steak was fishy with no flavor except 2 chunks of garlic. Potatoes had no flavor at all. The vegetables were best on my plate, likely due to lots of butter or oil. My husband had the 4 meat platter. The steak was raw on a hot stone. He cooked it himself and it was super tough, I almost choked on it. Other meats also not impressive. Dips also not good.

We have come to this place only because everything else was closed. I felt really bad because it was 1 hour before closing, the whole place was empty and the staff was already talking at a table however when we entered they were super kind and offered a seat. And this is the only positive I can tell because the food is definitely not their strength. They have stated on the menu that they are making traditional thin crusted pizza from Naples... Well, I would not be disappointed if it ends up with a thicker crust, but it had no taste and bad quality meats as toppings... We were super hungry so we ate most of it and to be honest at least it was a large portion so we needed to get the remaining boxed. As a suggestion to the chef, look for an another pizza recipe, use different flour and ingredients. There is an opportunity in this place because the staff was super lovely, try to improve ;)
