Absolutely stunning.
Tried to come last year on vacation but couldn’t get a table as they were overrun with guests. Finally moved to Coimbra and we had to make it one of our first stops.
Every bite was a delight.
We had the degustation menu (for us, it was chestnuts with caramelized onions, beets with yogurt and pistachio, marinated goat cheese, and chickpea spread), figs with port, and the white beans and mushrooms.
We chased our palettes around the table and were excited every time we returned to each plate. Every bite seemed better than the last, as we sat and enjoyed for two hours. The server taught us about the wine that we chose, and we were pleased to find it fit our meal perfectly.
Neither of us is a dedicated vegetarian, though we never exclude vegetarian options, and this was easily one of the top ten meals of my life. Cannot recommend Fangas Veg enough.
