Lovely food, book early if you want a seat on the edge of the terrace (we were there at 6:30-9:00pm). Our only complaint is that there should be a way to show the relative size of the dishes - we ordered 5 dishes, where the first 2 were small and bite-sized, the next 3 were almost all full portions for a single person! Also, Fernando did a great job looking after us (he said it was his first day, but we wouldn't be able to tell!)

We came here on our first night as we arrived in Porto in the evening and it was only a minute from our apartment. We were welcomed by the lovely hostess and the service was excellent. The food was really nice and was served in a sharing style, which we like. The views were amazing across the river even though we sat inside the restaurant at the back!

Came here on a reccomendation for our first night in Porto, and we loved it! The view was an amazing intro to the area, especially over sunset. Reservation reccomended! Delish food and the staff had great service and solid comraderie with eachother. As a family of english sprakers, they were very accomodating and welcoming to us. Only good things to say!

The views are amazing, coupled with superb staff, this would have been a really great dinner experience. Except our food weren’t that great. We ordered a croquette, cod, and pork cheeks. The croquette was the best I’ve had. It was indeed creamy and the inclusion of bacon added flavour but not salty. The cod was a disappointment tho. My friend & I was looking forward to it the most. Cod was rubbery because it was overcooked and the salt was not distributed evenly across the fish and parts were saltier. The chickpeas puree that came with the cod was good but cannot save the over dish. The pork cheeks was done perfectly! And the beetroot cauliflower purée was fantastic. We loved it but the pork cheek portion was quite small. We asked if they served the food that they were known for and they said they change the menu every year. As my friend said, maybe it’s better that they stick to the older menu rather than change it frequently and cannot maintain consistency. Still the views and staff makes this a worthwhile place to visit. Maybe the food will be better as reviewed by the others.

Nice dinner with a beautiful view! Service was friendly and quick, and the wine was excellent. We ordered four dishes for two, but the portions were much more generous than expected. We had too much food at the end. The pumpkin dumplings were the surprise of the night, super flavorful. The risotto was a bit salty, but otherwise everything was great. Perfect spot for a dinner date. Bring your sunglasses!

Google
The best meal we had in Porto and a perfect way to end our visit. We spent several hours here and every dish was incredible, the dessert with port pairing was a real stand out. The staff were all lovely, gave us plenty of guidance on the menu but also gave us plenty of time to really savour all the food and not feel rushed. Brilliant value for money and we'd definitely come back if we come to Porto again. Thank you!

Wow, the food, the service, the views, the ambiance are all amazing. Highly recommend. Favorite was the black pork cheeks. Home made French fries are great for sharing too.

Google
Excellent restaurant, with a beautifull balcony view over the river. Was a little bit tricky to locate, with the steps to the left of the pizza place. The menu is set for sharing and the dishes are excellent, especially when considering the value. The toasts with the seasonal fish was especially delicious. The service is wonderful, happy to explain the menu options. Also great value

Yelp
Fantastic location and view. Delicious tuna tartar, sourdough and tempura broccolini. Prices are very good. Quality of food top notch and friendliness of staff terrific! Highly recommend

Yelp
Beautiful hilltop terrace location overlooking the Douro, well worth the steep staircase up from the riverside. Very attentive and friendly servers. We (family of 4) got: Eggplant (so so) Sardine on toast (excellent) Broccoli (very good) Potatoes with aioli (excellent) Duck rice for 2 (very good) Codfish in a rosemary puree (excellent) Desserts...we got all 3 that were on the menu and they were fantastic. Good coffees. And in a brief rainstorm, they gave us blankets! Fairly affordable. Go there!

Yelp
The servers were both wonderful, and overall service was good, however the food took extremely long to come out of the kitchen. We arrived at around 1:15pm shortly after opening and there were just three other tables. It took over 20 minutes after we ordered to get drinks, 30 minutes after to get bread, and then over 45 minutes to get the first item. We had a sharp cutoff at 70 minutes and the duck rice had just finished. We had 2 minutes to eat the rice before needing to leave!

Yelp
Came upon this place by accident. Something is going on here that is going to get some serious attention by food critics, so hit this place before there are lines out the door!

Yelp
Whether you walk up the many stairs from the river, or down the winding streets from the historic district, there are still some steep stairs down to reach this amazing gem! Stunning views of the river, fantastic food, drink and top notch service await! What a wonderful surprise! Everyone in our party LOVED it! Couldn't recommend a visit here more!

Yelp
When visiting Porto, you want to have dinner with a view. This restaurant is a must. However, it can be busy so make a reservation as they do fill up. Food:5/5 Candidly, this is one of my best meals in Porto. The ingredients are fresh, the chefs are amazing, and their service service. Candidly, there is nothing to hate. Clearly, as an American, I am not used to paying for water but, honestly it is still cheaper than nyc bottled water. Our bill was like €60 with drinks. My favorite dish is the pork jowl sandwich. Super tender, juicy, and delectable. Runner-up, the roasted potatoes, the browning on these are top notch and fresh from the oven. Service:5/5 The service here is amazing. They are attentive and offer the best recommendations (i.e., the potatoes). They have an easy to read English menu and are very responsive. All in all, I would definitely go again. This place was tasty and beautiful at the same time.

Yelp
Intrigo kindly squeezed my family in for dinner on the patio for a last minute table. Everything here is tapas style and is also very farm-to-table. Each dish was very simple but did a great job of showcasing the high quality ingredients used. I loved how they brought out the natural flavors of the vegetables and used the sauces to enhance the flavor and not overpower it. The wait staff were also wonderful and fun. They enthusiastically answered our questions about the wine list and topped off our glasses with a "don't tell anyone" wink. I couldn't have had a better experience!

Yelp
The service is delightful and the food is exciting with many vegetable options. Great place to have dinner and watch the sunset.

Yelp
Wonderful place, wonderful staff, and incredible location. The food was extremely good...cod in the local but elevated style that was so good. Savory churros with an aioli that was hard to describe but a must have. A really enjoyable experience with an unbelievable view. Come here. We were in Porto for three days and thought this was the most interesting and delicious we had among a host of delicious meals.

Elena G.

Yelp
Lovely waitstaff, every small plate was delicious, amazing view, reasonably priced. We stumbled into this restaurant without expectations, but it was probably the best of our trip. I don't normally write reviews, but this place felt really special.

Yelp
Our last night and dinner in Portugal, we spent it at Intrigo with an amazing river view and couldn't have been happier. We made a 630pm reservation in advance and had our pick of tables when we showed up on a Monday evening. We had to go outside for that view and as backup they offer you blankets if it gets too cool for you. Service was warm and friendly all evening and we had no issues getting by using English. They bake a different bread fresh every day and this evening it was a jalapeño type that brought some heat. Yum. My wife ordered their grilled nut crusted grouper with carrot purée and greens. She loved it all. I went with the rump steak that came with beets and soft sheep cheese. The meat was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. I don't typically eat or enjoy beets but these were nice. The sheep cheese was fine but not one of my favorite cheeses. To finish things out, we each ordered a dessert. My wife got a brownie with hazelnut ice cream while I got a banana crumb with peanut ice cream. Both were amazing but I think the peanut ice cream was extra special and shouldn't be missed.

Yelp
Picturesque and serene, a perfect way to wind down a weekend in Porto. Waitstaff are incredibly helpful, friendly, and accommodating. Reservations are likely a good idea, especially if dining after 9. Fantastic view of the sunset over Gaea and the cityscape - a truly romantic and intimate setting. The menu is small and rotates frequently, but each dish we tried was well-prepared, unique, and flavorful. Vegetarian/Vegan friendly. There are so many great dining options in Porto, but Intrigo is well worth seeking out!

Yelp
Amazing food and views, fair prices. Tucked away , cute spot with good service. Veggie friendly

Yelp
Intrigo was absolutely wonderful! I actually just got back home from there but could not wait to write this review. First of all, the service! The wait staff is so helpful, sincere and accommodating. Not being from Portugal (or anywhere in Europe!) I was not sure which wine to select to go with my meal. The waiter was extremely helpful in selecting a perfect red wine to complement my pork cheek. Next, the food! We started with their homemade bread, olive oil and salt. The bread was tough on the outside but doughy on the inside -- YUM! Tonight was just plain bread, but apparently they have other nights where they bake it with olives and other spices. Either way, it is freshly made each day. For my appetizer, I had the smoked meat croquettes. I was deciding between those and the codfish ones, but the waiter said the meat ones were better (and fattier, but I'm on vacation!). The honey and mustard sauce on them was amazing. Pro tip: dip your bread in that sauce too! The pork cheek was so tender and delicious with the roasted veggies and sheep's milk. Finally, for dessert, I had the oreo brownie. Very good but probably didn't need those extra calories :). By the way, I split all of this with my mom and we were both beyond full! Finally, the ambiance. This is probably the main reason people come to this restaurant and it does not disappoint. I recommend calling ahead or stopping in to request a table by the window or on the porch. It is magical and breathtaking even on rainy days.

Yelp
Up 120 steps from R Nova da Alfândega but worth every one! We sat outside on a breezy terrace (they offered blankets to keep us warm) and sipped vinho verde while watching the sun set. Acorda de camarao was tasty as was the alheira sausage. Friendly service and great ambience!

Yelp
Intrigo is a wonderful little restaurant overlooking the river in Porto. It's a little hard to find. Our Bolt driver didn't know where it was but the food is awesome. We tried the oxtails with hollandaise sauce and egg in soy sauce. Sounds strange but it was delicious. We also tried the duck rice and the mushroom rice. Both of them were yummy. If you are in Porto, please put Intrigo on your to do list.

Yelp
Wonderful restaurant. Best one I've been at in Porto. We got the seafood broth and braised tuna and all the elements of each dish came together in a perfect harmony. The douro malha red wine was also fantastic with the seafood dishes. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
INCREDIBLE!! Some of the best food I've ever had! I had the chicken while my sister had the pork cheek and both were delicious and perfectly cooked. Their bread and wine are also stupendous. Finally, as dessert goes, their sweetened house bread with olive oil ice cream was also amazing. I would recommend this place I'm a heart beat!

Yelp
We spent all of April in Portugal with a Porto Airbnb for HQ. Stumbled onto this place near our apartment and ended up eating there 7 times bc we liked everything about it and sampled almost everything on the menu, including of course fantastic Portuguese Deserts. Their signature homemade bread baked onsite daily is worth the visit alone and we totally agree with all the other very positive reviews. This was our favorite restaurant in all of Portugal. Visiting in April before the Summer Crush, the place was never crowded during our late lunch, early dinner visits.

Yelp
While doing a guided tour with our Guide André, he pointed at a small restaurant with a balcony directed towards the river douro. It seemed pretty romantic. He said that he never ate there but only heard good things about it... so on the same day my wife and I went there for dinner. We arrived at 6:30pm (low season, but the restaurant got full at 7:30pm - I recommend to call and reserve on peak seasons). The atmosphere was great, the service really good and the view amazing. We ordered garlic shrimps and portuguese sausage as a starter. To soak up the garlic sauce we got selfmade bread and it was amazing! We took braised tuna and chicken breast as a main dish. Great combination of flavors and fresh taste. We highly recommend this place! A great overall experience.

Yelp
Tucked away on a narrow and steep street of Porto is this hidden gem. I visited a few months ago and had a great experience. The views of the Douro river are great , plus the ambiance is relaxed and inviting. Menu has a great selection of different kinds of meat, fish and yummy appetizers. Great place to enjoy when the weather is permitting and amazing view :)

Boomer D.

Yelp
Found this place by accident, and was amazed. Food was great - the menu is limited, but the food was prepared well and reasonably priced. Nice view of the river from the patio. Service was friendly, but with only one waiter working during lunch service, it got a bit slow when the place started to fill up. The steak, garlic shrimp, and tempura was very good. Sangria was a bit on the strong side.
google avatar

Yelp
Best view you will find. Port with chocolate cake make the Douro river views wonderful. Long afternoon breezes across from Poeto houses. Only knock dates English Invasion music. Come for the view, extend to enjoy.

Yelp
Find this place ! You will not be disappointed. We stumbled upon it and figured the view was worth what ever the food was. The food was spectacular. Service excellent. The best food we had in all of Portugal...and my sister and I are are difficult to please as we both cook.

Yelp
It's so good here! I love the food, service, and the view. They make their own bread and it's very special. Well explained wine lists from all regions of Portugal. Dessert is inventive and delicious as well. I want to come back every day while I am in Porto.
google avatar

Yelp
Location is ideal, lovely deck overlooking the river front, food is very good and interesting in an upmarket-típico fusión. If you are staying in this area of Porto then Intrigó is a best-bet. And it is just up the stairway from Mirajazz so you can enjoy two new hot spots in one stop. We had the duck (dense but flavorful) and the roasted pork (wonderful flavor and fall-apart tender). They are often crowded and don't stay open as late as other places so be sure to call for reservations.

Yelp
Fantastic food from a young and adventurous team. Really loved the food, and the view is absolutely to die for!!! Come eat here so that you can say later you frequented the place BEFORE they got their first Michelin star! :)
google avatar

Yelp
This was our favorite restaurant in Porto--the best food and service of our entire 8 day stay exploring the city. We went twice! Their bread is homemade, fresh and they change the flavors we had a wheat and a raisin. They also make their butter from scratch! Flavors we experienced were coconut (yum!) and mustard (savory!) The sausage and potato croquets were amazing, as was everything else. Also, it is nestled on a hill with amazing views of the bridge and Douro

Yelp
YES YES YES! this place is delightful in terms of food, location and service! The servers are great and knowledgeable. All the food is fresh and delicious. 3/4 of us had the migas-- fantastic and filling vegetarian food! If you're in Porto, this place is a must

Yelp
So so so so so yummy!!!! I loved every bit of my dinner and dessert! I would recommend the red sangria, it's delicious

Yelp
Absolutely outstanding. Some of the best duck and chicken I've ever had in my life came from this restaurant. The wines served alongside the food were excellent, which were paired with a beautiful view of the river. Most importantly, the service here is top notch. The waiters here really take the time to get to know their customers and make sure they're taken care of.

Carlos R.

Yelp
Excellent !! The view from their terrace is great. Cozy place with delicious home made bread. Many exquisite plates to choose from. Our beef ribs were delicious. A great find! Definitely worth the short walk over to it.
