Restaurante La Buena Vida

This restaurant is a small, family owned place. Simple but warm/welcoming decoration. The menu was limited (Which is a good sign for me) consisting of several starters, fish and meat dishes. The cook food on seasonal products. I ordered a green bean dish, a wild duck (Mallard) and a cheesecake. The green bean dish was light and tasty. Prepared like soup, combined with potatoes and crispy jamon flakes on top. The mallard and the potato puree was top notch. Breast and wings were cooked separately with separate techniques. Tarta de queso was also delicious, the creamy texture was spot on, overall well balanced not too sweet but you can definitely taste the cheese. Overall it was a pleasant experience.

Superb seasonal product in a hidden venue very well known by locals looking for excellent food and no fanfare. Stunning wine list with national and international references not easy to find. Small and lovely place.

Best restaurant we went in Madrid. Outstanding food, made with best available ingredients. Impressive wine selection. Chef was very kind and flexible offering for serving all dishes for share at no extra cost.

It is a nice small restaurant, food is good but I have to be honest that my expectations were high. The atmosphere is a bit dull.

This slighty understated restaurant is not easy to spot among the many other restaurants in streets of Madrid. I was lucky to learn about it from a wine dealer nearby and loved it. It is about FOOD and WINE - spiced with good ambience. The Spanish kitchen is not one I have much experience with - but quality work in a kitchen never lies. Style of this restaurant seems rather traditional - and thank you for that. Even the most highly regarded restaurants og the new age, will struggle to outperform honest and geniue food at its best. I beleive La Buena Vida is a good example of that.

Food was really nice and the staff were very helpful explaining all the menu choices in detail. Everything is excellent and located in an interesting part of Madrid.

Mwa! Six foodies from San Francisco dined here and we loved it. Absolutely loved it. We shared about 6 appetizers and each had our own entree; all of it was amazing (I had the raor). The cheesecake won the prize for best dessert, and the service was top shelf. It's apparent that this place takes the whole experience seriously. I highly recommend this place. You won't be disappointed.
