Restaurante La Cañada

We wanted to escape the touristy main street and found this lovely restaurant. Very good food and service! The steak and tuna were delicious. So were our starters (grilled goats cheese and fish soup). Good value for money too.

Best food, attentive friendly staff. Can’t fault it. We have been going here for many years and the food has always been delicious, under new management now but still excellent. Don’t be put off by the lack of customers it is an excellent restaurant with proper well prepared food. I had lamb shoulder and it was so tasty. The ladies serving are Chinese but it’s a Spanish restaurant and I can’t speak highly enough of our experience. Very sorry started eating lamb shoulder before taking photo.

We dined there Thursday night. It was that good we returned Saturday!! The service is way beyond anything in puerto del carmen! The staff are friendly and very attentive. The food we had both nights was amazing, top quality. The chef took the time to explain all the fish and meat dishes and how they were cooked, all on the grill in the main restaurant. Couldn't fault a thing. Definitely recommend fried cheese, suckling lamb, stuffed peppers and the awesome cooked to taste steaks! Brilliant!

What a lovely restaurant, staff were so friendly and made us feel really welcome. Steak was incredibly delicious, the chef cooked it exactly how we wanted it. 100% recommend this restaurant. So reasonably priced as well.

My last evening meal until next time. Fish soup again but this time with razor clams followed by grilled octopus with potatoes and salad.. awesome.

We enjoyed a delicious meal here. We ordered padron peppers and mixed grill (for two people). There was a great selection of meat on the mixed grill, and plenty of it. The staff were charming; very friendly and helpful when deciding on what to eat. Fang, the new owner, came to chat at the end of the evening and was lovely. The restaurant was quiet, but can't understand why; it's a gem. We plan on going back for another meal before the end of our holiday. Give it a go!

Just what we were looking for - a traditional restaurant in a quiet are street. A lovely meal - homemade soup followed by fish of the day which was filleted at the table and pork chops which were grilled to perfection. Service was excellent - very friendly. We will return!
