Restaurante La Esquinita de La Garita

A very confused waitress took our orders after a long wait. Had to explain how to make a sandwich.... The orders arrived fast and were well presented, but they clearly have allergies to tomatoes. Now we wait f9r the bill to arrive, spent almost 30 min for that. Had to go inside to pay, rather expensive and there are other places to go to. I do not recommend this establishment

Absolutely loved this place. After some shopping at IKEA we came to La Garita to find some local eats. We came across this place which has an excellent menu with real local food and not your typical touristy burger/pizza. We started with the baked camber cheese and my meal was the stewed oxtail. Both super good! And the staff was all very friendly and accommodating. It seemed to be a favorite spot of the locals and I can see why, even though there are plenty of other options to choose from.

Clean, nice, good atmosphere. We had the berros salad, it was nice, a bit more of the goat cheese would have been top. The pizza was surprisingly good and authentic, with a very well and long fermented dough. Best pizza I’ve had on the island.

Beware! THE OWNER OF THIS CAFE IS SCAMMER AND WILL TRY TO STEAL FROM YOU! After just a few hours in Grand Canaria -Telde we went in to local cafe. When our bill arrived we were unpleasantly surprised to lean that 20 € charge was for a cider which wasn’t even in cafe menu list and was served and charged like for a posh champagne out of owners initiative - without a price tag on cafes menu ( we have asked for it -but unsuccessfully) When we questioned this he told us that it’s a new product and cost around 7 € to stock and serve and he must make a PROFIT. Later we learned that this cider cost 1.75€ in local shop. So it was a attempt to rip off new customers. What a SHAME! After we caught he RED handed he agreed to refund 5€

Edit: We came back today. My partner ordered at the counter and she was surprised by the large bill. She reduced her order to a large beer and coffee.

We ate here two nights. Delicious dishes and very nice and attentive service. Recommended

Very good food. Pork of iberico. Smell doft and taste juicy.
