"The thing that brings everyone to the exceedingly homey La Guardarraya is the sensational chuleta can-can: a deep-fried pork chop with the rind still attached, which resembles a cross between an ultra-tender pork chop and a fatty, crispy chicharron. The sides are great, too, particularly the mamposteao rice—sort of like the everything-bagel version of fried rice, packed with beans, bacon, onion, peppers, and delicious spices. Save room for a slice of the dreamy tres leches, too—it's one of the best on the island." - Kris Fordham

If you’ve never heard of a “Chuleta Can Can” then you have to go visit this legendary restaurant. We ordered this signature dish because why not? But… the award 🥇 goes to the chicken breast in butter sauce covered with carmelized onions 🧅 !!!! Say What? 🤤 We go for pork belly chops and end up loving the chicken 🐓 breast? Hell yeah 😋 The vanilla flan was outstanding too 🤩 Our waiter Juan Carlos was very kind.😇 My only feedback is that the place needs a little paint and better lighting if you’re visiting at dusk😉

We bought the Pork chops. It’s better to eat it there for the skin will remain crunchy.

Pretty good. Really enjoyed the food. The pork chop was okay. Wasn’t worth the price of it though. The cheese balls were absolutely amazing and the rice was out of this world. A little pricey though.

What a hidden gem! The inside is so relaxed. We came to visit some family in Yauco and asked for a restaurant recommendation. They suggested here and we were so happy! My husband and I shared the the Chuletta Can Can and my children shared the pollo frita con papas fritas! Only sad thing, we didn't get to try the flan because they were sold out.

Google
The famous Chuleta Kan Kan has lost it’s heritage. As I sit here in the restaurant the chulata is tasteless and very dry. I’ve been here before some years ago and it was fantastic. I had to request mayonnaise with ketchup blended to give at least some flavor. I also ordered arroz mampostiao, and there is no difference between rice and bean and this specialty rice I was given. So sad things have changed.

Yelp
Came here from a suggestion from a friend. Taking that suggestion was the best because I was really blown away by the wonderful food there. After a day of driving, I wanted to just have a great meal. The place is huge with plentiful parking. The restaurant seems a little dated but from the people eating there, it seemed like the place to be/ Can Can Pork was amazing. Crispy mixed with that vinegar to cut through the fat. Get it, you will not regret it. Oh yeah dont forget those Habichuelas! The pricing was reasonable after spending a ton of money shopping. The service was decent when you know what you want. Cannot wait to come back!

Yelp
Food quality (1 worst - 5 best): the KanKan Porkchop (5stars), el biftec empanado (3stars), my rice and beans were under warm a bit cold for me. Portions/Price: adequate/a bit pricey but considering location is not bad. Service: our waiter 'Francisco' was nice, fast and a gentleman. Thanks Francisco for your service. Restaurante appearance: bathrooms were clean And the environment was nice rural view. On a second visit with my family, a group of 16, the experience was completely different. All 16 were very pleased with their orders. My battered beef steak, well our shared "bistec", was great. Portions and price well balanced. Oh, our shared dessert, then my wife's dessert was phenomenal. One comment for continuous improvement, is related to my sisters' chopped Kan Kan. It was a bit "dry" or overcooked for our taste. Still an improvement for our previous visit. Overall: 4 stars

Yelp
Waited a long time to finally get to try CanCanPorkchop, and WOW! Everything I expected and more. They are the home to the can can porkchop. If I or you ever find yourself close to this restaurant do yourself a favor and enjoy a fantastic meal.

Yelp
The best Puerto Rican food ever. The chuleta can can is to die for. The arroz mampostiao as well. I also tried the caldo de pollo last time and it was very nice. Always great to drink an ice cold Medalla beer to go with it. For me, this place never disappoints. My experiences have always been great here. My favorite place on the island.

Yelp
Been waiting to go to this restaurant for years , And was exited to go today , and order The " Chuleta Kan Kan " . And to my Surprise and Disgust the waiter come to my table with " This Horrific Piece of a Pork Chip , It looks like it was Defrosted in a Microwave, Then Deep fried to a Crisp ! Totally disappointed I Don't Not Recommend , Don't waste you time and Money .

Yelp
This is my favorite restaurant on the island to get Can-Can. I have traveled all over the island, trying this delicious dish at other places, but always end up coming back here. The waitresses are very nice and attentive. They can become very busy when the place gets packed, so don't come here if you're in a rush. The atmosphere is amazingly calm and down to earth. It is open air seating which is very nice when the breeze comes through. If you are looking for the best Can-Can on the island, you need to come here.

Yelp
Large dining area, great service and good food. It is good for families. Prices are reasonable ~$16 per pork chop (chuleta can can). Besides their famous chuleta can can their fried chicken and tres leches are delicious. They take credit cards. Hours: They are open Wed to Sunday from 11am to 6:30pm

Yelp
The place was very well located with a lot of parking. The dining hall looks small. I don't like the deco but the place is clean. Food was great, very taste if you know what you are ordering. Some people complaint about the Kan Kan pork chop but you need to know what you are ordering. My lambs chops was great!

Yelp
First of all I arrived early before another table and I had to sit on my own. Most of the time we were just sitting in the table area just waiting. No one gave a menu or anything, a bigger table came and they gave them priority, worst costumer service I've had in years. Never got to taste the food because my family waited there for like 30 minutes.

Yelp
If you're looking for authentic puerto rican food without an American tourist in sight ... This is the place to be !! Well .... There was one american couple besides us. Everyone speaks English and the menus are available in English as well !! The house specialty is the can can pork chops... Deep fried ... Hmm hmm good !!!! Also the beef tenderloin wrapped in an egg omelet is quite good. There's a yellow bottle that looks like a mustard container and has a sauce similar to thousand island dressing ..... Use it generously on your meal .... Very good !! Also the tostones .....which is like a very thick potato chip is awesome ..... They serve it as a side dish. ..... This place is simple and unassuming and serves feel good home cooked puerto rican fare in a casual open air restaurant !!! You'll love it !!!

Yelp
Oh boy.... dry chunks of pork. Too bad! I had been looking forward to coming back after many years. Visited during July 2017 for lunch. Service was good and the fruit punch (virgin) is refreshing. The other items ordered were good too: white rice, beans, arroz mamposteao, and tostones de pana. This place is known for "chuletas can can" which is supposed to be a piece of pork with an attached and crispy pork skin. The restaurant cut the pieces prior to bringing to our table but the result was very dry tough chunks.

Yelp
Good authentic Puerto Rican food. You definitely need to share the plate. The service was good. The drinks were tasty.
