Restaurante Mesón Chilote

We went to this restaurant for lunch. My partner ordered pulmay, and I had the grilled octopus with a potato salad in mayonnaise. My partner really enjoyed his dish—he found all the elements very flavorful. My octopus, however, was inconsistent. Some pieces were really tender and delicious, while others were tough and hard to chew. That being said, the flavor was exactly as described on the menu—butter and lemon, which was well-executed. As for the potato and mayo salad, I absolutely did not like it. I’m not a fan of Chilean mayo to begin with, and the combination of potatoes and mayo just didn’t work for me. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but it was missing something to make it enjoyable. Honestly, I found it awful.

Came to troy, a dinner night with entertainment, great vibes, amazing food & cocktails. the performances were just wow! such a cool place for a girls night or a date night. I was lucky to stumble into the beginning stages of a Curanto meal here that just happened to coincide with the Thanksgiving holiday. The food was delicious and plentiful. The host and owner was incredibly accommodating, passionate about what he does, loved answering questions, and made me feel at home. It was a wonderful experience.

Very cozy place, and the food is amazing. Highly recommend place to enjoy a delicious meal.
