Restaurante Mimar

We walked in Lagos centre and would have only some drinks, we asked at Mi-Mar around lunch time. It was no problem to only have drinks. When we saw the menu we were a bit curious as it looks nice, so we end up having a great tapas lunch. We had 4 different dishes and all of them were very tasty. My daughter ordered a dessert, she loved it. Overall we had an amazing lunch at Mi-Mar.

This restaurant was so worth the trip that we went there twice! The tapas was incredible and we felt like we were having a real food exploration as there were different foods we hadn’t tried before and that exceeded our expectations! They do a great tartar, we had both the beef and tuna tartar, and the bbq ribs were amazing as well. I can also really recommend the dessert menu as they had so many tasty options (and not only the normal options all restaurants have), but the Hazelnut Panna Cotta tasted like Ferrero Rocher and it was to die for🤩🤩 Be mindful about wait time as it is a popular restaurant. We ate early (17:30/18:00) before most people were out for dinner and that way we didn’t have to wait for a table or reserve a table in advance. Food is very tasty! I’ll suggest to skip the main section and dip into the tapas one, we ordered in two 3 tapas with a bottle of wine and no room for desert. David our waiter was really polite and professional, he made our dinner better compared to the waiting time of the croquettes, I’ll definitely raccomando the place has got also a decent selection of really nice wines.

Another wonderful restaurant up a bustling little street in Lagos, very busy and people line up for a table. Super friendly team, very welcoming and their wine suggestion was the best white we had in Portugal. Food was delicious and quite generous serving, two mains could not be finished!! Would very much recommend and was also recommended to us by Maitre D at Barbosa just down the street, definitely visit these two wonderful Portuguese restaurants if in Lagos 😀

What a great restaurant in a great spot. The service was impeccable with Gary as our waiter. He spoke English and made recommendations. The food was actually one of the best I have tried in Portugal. Tapa portions were great and the prices were very reasonable. I would highly recommend this place for anyone visiting the area. There’s also lots of other things to do in the area so before or after dinner can enjoy sight seeing. There is also a massive free parking lot a few minutes walk from the restaurant so that makes getting there even easier. Food 5 stars Service 5 stars Location 5 stars Can’t recommend this place enough.

This place was a last minute find and it we were so happy we found it. The food was gorgeous and service was excellent. We had the beef strips, garlic prawns, coriander rice, fries, piri piri chicken, anchovies in vinegar, fish ceviche and chocolate mousse. Al four of us loved it and would definitely recommend.

Simply incredible food. Not only are the staff amazing, hard working, right on, but the restaurant is clean. The food is just the best! You have to come eat here.

We had to wait in a queue for 15-20 minutes for a table but the tapas was nice. Great place overall!
