O Miradouro do Castelo

Try the octopus here, it's amazing! It's a beautiful restaurant as well. Service was good as well. We had a younger gent who was very down to earth. Charming lad.

Expensive restaurant with high-end atmosphere. We do no recommend to eat the vegetarian alheira as it was not good at all. The cod was amazing, although it was a lot of food (we ask for the plate for 1 and the two of us ate it all with some difficulties). So order accordingly and having this in mind. We recommend going during the day, since the place has an amazing view that you pay on the menu but if you go during the nighttime you will still pay but without enjoying the view which is by far the best thing about it. The service was okay. They gave us a good wine recommendation but were not super friendly like we are used to around this area.

I really enjoyed my stay. Check-in was online so when I arrived the key was ready in an envelope in reception. The bedroom was clean, comfortable & nice and warm. The shower was fine too. The restaurant was excellent. The roast kid was real tasty served with potatoes and green beans in a nice sauce. It was washed down with a nice red. Service was great too.

Had dinner with a group of friends here, we also ordered take away the next day. It is one of the best restaurants in the village. The dishes are pretty good, although not particularly cheap. The restaurant has a nice view. The staff is nice and attentive. There is plenty of sitting so it’s a good spot if you’re looking for a spot last minute.

Unfortunately our experience at this restaurant was not good. The service and staff were pleasant but forgetful and the food was mostly disappointing. My steak was very tough and overcooked. My friend's roasted goat was good but the potatoes and veg were overdone. The dessert (a local cake) was stale. The setting is lovely. Maybe our experience was just the result of one bad night. Sorry to say we cannot recommend it.

Very very bad experience. The gambas are just mini shrimps from supermarket, it has no taste at all, they’re are super little and cost 8€ The chorizo was so dry and hard we couldn’t eat half of it. It didn’t even come cut, again, 8€.

I am sorry to say that I cannot share the positive experiences of many reviewers here. The location and view are excellent and the table service was fair. The food however was another story. I ordered cod and it was basically inedible. It was so tough that it could not be chewed and swallowed. My wife had lamb which was tasty but overcooked. Something was obviously going wrong the evening we ate here. We were very disappointed.
