We were looking forward to our fish supper here, but it wasn’t to be.
After looking at the menu, I asked what the seafood and fish grill actually contained. “It’s delicious,” said the waiter, “the best thing on the menu – three items.” I never found out what these were! My wife then asked for salmon and he suddenly looked worried, so we assumed he went to check availability.
Another waiter returned, who I suspect was the manager, and told us the seafood and fish grill was only served at lunchtime!
Our meal eventually arrived. The fish was good, but the chips were soggy.
We chatted with the neighbouring table and their verdict was “Fawlty Towers dining.” At the table on the other side someone ordered the house white wine – “Sorry sir, we don’t have white wine!”
We were disappointed and can only assume they were having a bad night, as Rincon de Marinero has so many good reviews.
