Restaurante Salzillo

I came here on New Year's Day without reservation and the owner of the place took it to heart and found me a seat although the place was jam packed with people given the festive! The food here is top notch! Traditional Murcian cuisine! The best of Murcia I found! Highly recommended place!

OMG. What a place. The food was amazing, the service very friendly, quick and professional. I am sure to return every time I am in Murcia. Make sure to reserve. Even at lunch tim ene on a normal Wednesday the place was packed full.

My review is in comparison to the many restaurants I have visited in Spain. It is unfair to review compared to other restaurants in other cultures so I will try and give a fair representation of this restaurant according to what was expected. Expectations are also very important as there are street taco stands with Michelin stars. I expected a semi-fancy, moderately priced restaurant where I could order a wide array of dishes without worry the quality would change based on the dish. This is exactly what I received. We ordered MANY plates and almost each was savory. The plate presentation was good. I only noticed one sauce drop but it was within the plate frame. The servers always changed to clean plates in between dishes which was excellent. We did not ever have to ask to change plates. The only downside was they did not use a crumb scraper at the end to clean the table before serving desserts. I would recommend this to the establishment to further demonstrate a higher end establishment. I also noticed the chef had the towel on his shoulder which is not advised. The only plate I was not a fan of was the salad with smoked salmon and Ibérica ham. I believe the flavor pallet was off. The iceberg lettuce was not as high-end as a Romain or even mix greens. All the other dishes were excellent. The authentic dessert tarta de abuela was delicious. All my negative point are VERY nit-picky and just a few suggestions for the establishment. Overall this restaurant provided exactly what I was expecting and I was a happy customer. Thank you for your service!

Excellent and flavoursome dishes! We started with a variety of tapas - all delicious. My favourite was the foie gras with fig compote - amazing! For my main dish I opted for the Sole Mernier, which was delicate and perfect. Finally for dessert I chose the Passionfruit Sorbet, which was so good that I could have had another! If you visit Murcia you absolutely must dine at Salzillo. It is very popular with the locals and fills up quickly, so I would definitely recommend making a reservation.

I can talk about the quality of the food here but it will not be explicit enough to describe how yummy are the dishes here. This is better than good. You can go around the world and try the best restaurants in the world but what will stick to your heart will be the food of Salzillo. I found it overwhelmingly tasty and irresistible to go to South East of Spain and not visit this house.

Best restaurants in Murcia!!!! The red gambas was unbelievable!!! The best I already ate. The pochet egg with truffle was also delicious and the artichauts. 10/10 the all experience! Truly recommend.

Super Classic restaurant in Murcia! Just for locals you cannot find tourists here, from the outside You dont realize how big this restaurant is inside! Amazing food. Not cheap but really autentic spanish food at its best. Recommended from a local, we really Had an amazing experience. The waitress was also super nice. My family loved it. we spent 33€ per head for lunch with drinks and also desserts. Thanks!

Great neighborhood place run by folks who clearly love what they do, and do it exceptionally well. What a joy.

I had a typical Spanish lunch with fine breads,hamone and seafood. I really liked the ambiance, family style but upscale with all of the linens and cutlery. Place was busy and they have a ton of staff. Easily 20 people work in this restaurant on the lunch shift. Food was great, service quick. I can't pick out one thing that was amazing but if I was forced I would say the peach soufflé was divine. You have to be into soufflé to appreciate it. I like this place and look forward to another visit.

The absolute best experience! We visited during the Féria on Sept. 17. We we very fortunate to get a reservation, considering they had been booked a month before! This place had been recommended by a friend, as a " must visit!" Wow! What a fabulous dinner! Upon arrival, we were seated at a very well located table. We were able to experience the complete ambiance of a well run, top notch restaurant. Our server, Pilar, was very helpful in suggesting various menu options. It was more than obvious that we had the good fortune to be in class restaurant surrounded by cultured patrons! Gourmet! Delicious entree's! Tasty house wines! Yummy desserts! If you ever visit Murcia, don't miss enjoying an evening at Salzillo! Thank you, Pilar, for having the patience, answering our questions and recommending the best!
