This Ornate Palace-Turned-Hotel Takes You Back to 19th-Century Madrid - Hotels Above Par - Boutique Hotels & Travel

"The hotel's restaurant, led by Chef Rafael Peña, spotlights classic Spanish recipes given contemporary touches and is geared toward shareable Madrid-style plates. Standouts include Russian Salad with Crab and Caviar, Acorn-fed Iberian Ham, Tomato Bread with Spanish “Picos,” and a decadent Spanish French Toast served with meringue ice cream; the kitchen also recommends a late al fresco breakfast of freshly baked French pastries paired with a Huevos Benedictine de Salmón. The dining experience encourages lingering for sobremesa before moving on to cocktails in the mirror-lined bar or drinks in the secluded garden."

An exceptional dining experience at Santo Mauro that reflects elegance, precision, and consistency at every level. The food was outstanding. The Profiterol con Caviar was refined and indulgent, while the Ensaladilla de Bogavante Azul con Caviar was a true standout—luxurious, perfectly balanced, and beautifully executed. The Ensalada Francesa was fresh and thoughtfully composed, and even the pan service reflected attention to detail. Simple items like the café con leche and Perrier were served flawlessly, reinforcing the overall quality of the experience. The staff was impeccable—professional, attentive, and highly polished without ever being intrusive. Service flowed seamlessly from start to finish, making the meal feel calm, elevated, and well curated. Santo Mauro delivers a refined, high-level dining experience worthy of its setting. Highly recommended, and I look forward to returning

A true gem of Madrid to be honest, not only the food was perfection, but the atmosphere was incredible and the staffs attention impecable, so much so that we'll be switching our usual hotels in Madrid to stay here next time instead of simply eating at their restaurant (one of our new favorites) thank you so much to y'all!

La Biblioteca de Santo Mauro: A Culinary Symphony of Elegance and Luxury in Madrid Nestled within the enchanting Santo Mauro hotel, La Biblioteca de Santo Mauro in Madrid is an epitome of sophistication and culinary excellence. The restaurant's prime location on one of Madrid's most illustrious streets sets the stage for an extraordinary dining experience. The sheer elegance of the building, both inside and out, speaks volumes. The unique venue caters to a variety of occasions, whether it's a leisurely breakfast, a delightful brunch, a refined lunch, or an intimate dinner – the option to dine in the garden during the summer adds a delightful touch. The impeccable service at La Biblioteca surpasses that of many Michelin-starred establishments. The staff's professionalism and elegance in every interaction contribute to an atmosphere of refined dining. Before entering La Biblioteca, each room exudes its own distinctive style and soul, creating a chic and luxurious ambiance down to the smallest detail. The attention to aesthetics seamlessly complements the overall dining experience. The extensive menu offers a plethora of options, from individual mains to plates designed for sharing. A noteworthy seasonal touch in the autumn menu featuring mushrooms added a unique flair to various dishes, creating a harmonious and memorable dining experience. The culinary prowess extends to the dessert, which stands out as the pièce de résistance. The combination of sweet and savory flavors masterfully executed in each dessert elevates the dining experience to a sublime level. Undoubtedly, La Biblioteca de Santo Mauro offers a splendid "city" escape within the cozy luxury of a "library" nestled in one of Madrid's best hotels. While the price reflects the opulence associated with this establishment, every aspect of the experience makes it undeniably worthwhile. In the realm of fine dining, La Biblioteca de Santo Mauro stands as a beacon of culinary and aesthetic excellence in the heart of Madrid.

Seriously the WORST food I have ever had in Madrid!! (Including the cheapest restaurants). I mean, French fries came boiled??? What?? On a Saturday, the menu options super limited. Waiter offered rodaballo for 2 (fish for 2 people), which in ALL restaurants in madrid it comes the actual whole fish. But not here! They brought 2 tiny pieces for each and boiled broccoli! OMG! Seriously, I am telling all friends not to ever go there (unless it’s for a wine at the patio). No for food. Picture for a “fish for 2 people”…

Elegant is the first word that comes to my mind to describe this place! The outdoor seating was closed as it was raining in March so we enjoyed our lunch and coffee in the rustic yet cool library. Excellent service as well. Must try their dessert(apple pie if I recall)

Wanted to leave the review about celebrating my event in this restaurant. It was a special event for me, that’s why I went to ask and to book before, because they have different spaces. I agreed to book a space and had my booking in the space library for 8 people. Than 1 day before the event in the evening they call me and put me to the fact that they have to move my booking to the other place, because they have a private event there and it’s coordinated by other department, I think if u work in 1 place- u should have to be more organised and to know about the events not 1 day before? And don’t put people to the other place and obviously we didn’t have any alternative as long it was very late. also the food, it has changed in the bad way.. I was there in September and it was much better, actually I had stomach poisoning after or from the oysters or from the meet.other bad point- they have some problems with light. Its is very very very Dark there in the evening, u almost can’t see anything. At the end- don’t recommend this place anymore((

The garden is beautiful and the brunch on Sundays is highly recommend. It's 45 € per person but well worth it.

The food was excellent and it was pretty cheap also to be honest. I would definitely go back.
