Google
5/5 stars! We stumbled upon this hidden gem in Coimbra, and it was love at first bite! The Portuguese restaurant serves up authentic, mouthwatering dishes! Maria service was top-notch - friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, she made excellent recommendations. The atmosphere was cozy and intimate. But the real star of the show was the food! We indulged in both were cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. Obrigado for an unforgettable dining experience!

I had the Confit codfish and it was absolutely delicious! The smoothness of the sauce with the tenderness of the fish and the crispy of the breadcrumbs made for a beautiful and complete dish. The service was also very quick and attentive. Definitely recommend stopping on this cute little street to have a quiet delicious meal. The portion could feel small but I don’t eat much so to me it was perfect and definitely worth it for the quality

Absolutely incredible!!! I wish my photos turned out better. We ordered the pork chops, stew, and potatoes (as well as cheesecake for dessert). Everything was so incredibly delicious!!! I wish we were staying longer and could come back again.

Google
What a fantastic spot. I had an amazing meal here. The flavours were fantastic, you could see the effort put into every dish. The olives were dressed incredibly, I also highly recommend the clams, the sauce was fantastic. The service was really friendly and attentive too. They have an apple crumble with an ice cream from the local store a few doors up that I also highly recommend. Portions were very big too, I will definitely visit again when I come to Coimbra.

Google
A good location, you either have a good view to the street or you dine inside and the room is beautiful with stones. The service is good. The food is really fun to share! You get a small taste of everything It's a bit pricey, but it matches the food quality. The sangria isn't as good as the food

Great food and service for a reasonable price. We loved the Duck Croquettes and the mixed board, and of course vinho tinto and bread. Great lunch in a beautiful little square. Great ambiance playing a great selection of current music.

We had an excellent dinner for a very good price. The highlight of our experience was the lamb; the sweet and salty mix were beyond this world. The charcuterie board was excellent and so was the Muros Antiguos green wine. The ambience was great albeit the light was a little too bright and music a touch too loud. But otherwise a fantastic experience. Would certainly come back.

My son had the steak, my daughter the lamb chops. I had the Bakalau Confit, plus olives, bread and French fries. It was exceptional! We will be back. Very good experience 👌

Yelp
Lovey location for lunch - part way up a winding stepped alley. Old stone cave like walls inside. Outside small patio on the alley. Some of the best tapas we have had. The lamb chops, fennel with orange salad and duck croquettes. Delicioso. Service was friendly and prompt.

Yelp
Good food, nice ambience and a Wonderful place to enjoy some wine and tapas. Clams with Chorizo was so full of flavor. Lamb chops were the best I've had in a log time. Tender with hints of honey and almonds on top.... Excellent. Salmon Focaccia was very good. Service was great.... Beautiful experience Coimbra.

Yelp
Delicious modern Portuguese tapas in a sleek, inviting setting. Stone walls that felt a bit like dining in a cave. We ordered three dishes--the clams with chorizo, bacalau with spinach, and the mushrooms with bacon and frites. The portions were quite generous! Memorable meal, albeit a little on the salty side, but that's what my water was for. The staff was professional and attentive. Bathrooms were tidy. I would recommend and return when visiting Coimbra again.

Yelp
Really great experience. We ordered the clams with chorizo, steak and lamp chops and vegetable tempura - I'd recommend everything except the Tempura. The flavors were super authentic and original. You need to try the lamp chops and allow them to be cooked well, the way the Portuguese recommend them. Yum

Yelp
This was one of the best meals I've had in PT. They have tons of options for gluten free eaters too. We probably ordered too much because we didn't realize the traditional Spanish tapas portions are really Portugese portions - huge. Octopus and sweet potatoes was the best octopus I've had; the bacalhau a bras was so creamy I thought it had cheese in it. We had the cheese board too- perfect. My husband had the steak and then French fries with egg and mushrooms. We also had 2 bottles of wine. Grand total (plus a small tip) 80€. We could have easily eaten 2-3 things instead of 5. Highly recommend. Also try to get there closer to 7, the place got super busy by 8. Also live fado at the surrounding bars so it had a lovely ambiance

Yelp
We came here twice on our short stay in Coimbra. Highly recommend the Lamb Chops grilled and dressed with honey and almonds, the Provolone cheese that comes bubbling in a hot plate and the tuna poke, served with avocado, quinoa and tomatoes. Sitting outdoors and hearing the sounds of urban conversations and watching locals and tourists bustling in this hilly street makes for a lovely European experience

Yelp
We made reservations to eat here but they didn't have our table when we arrived. I am not sure why the reservation wasn't in the system but luckily it wasn't very busy that evening so we were seated in a few minutes. We started off ordering a pitcher of sangria and I really enjoyed it. We then ordered a bunch of tapas. The items we really liked were the lamb chops, mushroom, and padron peppers. Overall we enjoyed our meal and I think this is a great place if you are looking for a tapas restaurant.

Yelp
The advantages of doing research before taking a trip. In Coimbria, I needed a place for a solitary lunch to get away from my tour group, which was seriously getting on my nerves. The restaurant is located up a steep hill, a few doors from Fado Centro, and provided one of the best meals of my trip. If you get a chance to check out Fado Centro, by the way, you should. After consulting with the handsome server whose English was better than mine, and taking into account my time constraints, I had one of the best sangrias I've ever had, almost like a boozy fruit salad, with pears, apples, and oranges. Then the traditional version of the classic Portuguese cream of vegetable soup, which sometimes contains cream, and sometimes does not. I was expecting my eggplant stack to be somewhat like the Italian style which I'm used to, but this was a very simple presentation: grilled eggplant, tomato reduction and mozzarella Baby lamb chops with honey and almonds rounded out my lunch. Unfortunately I didn't have time for coffee or dessert, but hey, now I have an excuse to get back to Coimbria.

Yelp
GREAT authentic local tapas in a modern setting at the heart of Coimbra, right next to Fado Centro. I can't believe it hasn't been reviewed before. It must be new! The flavors we sampled were varied and authentic. Smoky peppers and batatas bravas, spicy local sausages and hams, briny sardines, etc. Service was exceedingly friendly and helpful. Prices are low, most tapas costing 4 Euros or less (charcuterie is a bit more), and portions large enough that 2 per person may be too many. We hadn't found many worthy food recommendations up near Coimbra's historic university area, which makes this find extra special.

Yelp
Everything we ordered was amazing! Lamb chops, duck, shrimp, roasted fennel and orange salad, roasted mushrooms.....so yummy. Definitely a 5-star experience.

Yelp
After a few hours walking through Coimbra, this was perfect spot to eat/drink. It's pricey, but the food was top quality. We had octopus, prawn with baby eel, and lamb chops in honey and almond. Super tasty.

Yelp
Thursday - 28SEP2017 Still wrong. Estou muito irritado. Wednesday - 27SEP2017 The signage is still wrong. Tuesday - 26SEP2017 Closed on Mondays. We went on Monday and they were closed. We went on Tuesday and they said " closed on Mondays" in spite of the signage painted on the door saying: " open on Mondays". I was very unhappy on Monday.

Yelp
Got hungry on our drive to the Algarve so we made a pit stop at this lovely restaurant. The food was amazing and the staff were pleasant. I highly recommend stopping in for their many delicious small plates.

Yelp
This was the best restaurant we have eaten at so far in Coimbra and it's not even a close contest. It would be in my top 10 in Lisbon. Get the patatas bravas, sauteed mushrooms, padron peppers, and octopus. It is the type of restaurant where I want to try a lot of things because the ones I have had were all executed so well. The only thing I didn't like was the rice in the tuna tartare, which was too dry.

Yelp
Very good food and a cute location. I enjoyed every dish we had. Plates are small so order several. My favorites were chicken wings, lamb chops and shrimp with "baby eels".

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch after touring the university. Casual but elegant space, located on a cute street close to the old cathedral. The server was warm and helpful. I enjoyed the park sausage and grilled octopus. I didn't finish everything, as the portions were pretty substantial for tapas.

Yelp
This place is a gem in the historic center of town. Food was delicious. The interior of the restaurant is gorgeous, however, it was a beautiful day and we chose to sit outside. The service was great!

Yelp
Excellent restaurant giving a Portuguese twist on tapas. We loved the meat "pastel" -- shredded beef in a sort of puff pastry. The steak was also excellent. Great waitstaff as well. Highly recommended. Best to make a reservation. Very popular.
