Restauration zur Harmonie

Simply put, it's my favourite place to go in all of Switzerland. The owners always remember me and have a chat, it's a lovely place to be.

Good place to eat. Harry, the waiter couldn't have been more friendly and obliging. The schnitzel and bratwurst were great, both tasty and tender. Enjoyable evening.

Although Iwe're not familiar with local menu here, we enjoyed the Spaghetti Carbonara and Wienerschnitzel. The service was fantastic. The atmosphere is a plus as well.

Excellent restaurant with great service and food. The atmosphere was also good as there were lot of people there. I tried the Wiener Schnitzel and it was absolutely incredible. I seriously recommend.

We went there with my partner a few days ago and honestly we didn't appreciate the service and atmosphere. Event though the restaurant looked super cute and the first waiter was very warm, the lady that served our food and took our order was very pushy and insisting on doing everything suuuuper fast. She seemed very upset and angry at anyone she was serving and made a lot of noise collecting the plates and forks etvc from the tables. We rushed into eating our overpriced potatos and cheese in half an hour, but eventhough we know that switzerland is very expensive, it didnt make so much sense to eat a single plate of rosti with cheese at 28.5 francs plus 2.5 for tap water... If the atmosphere was better i wouldnt mind the price that much.

An unexpected nice visit, we were the only tourists. Only a few elderly citizens discussing their day. The food was simple but good

Nice small bar restaurant at the corner of the university. Nice staffs. Cozy atmosphere inside. A bit tight, but ok. Foods are fresh, good, and with big portions compared to the price. Recommended.

Sometimes everything just makes sense, you know it from the first moment and you are delighted that it delivers and it last. That is exactly the feeling I had with Restaurant Harmonie.... I would say it was the perfect harmony of good service, good food and good atmosphere. I found this restaurant via a simple internet search as I was looking for a place to eat a good entrecote "cafe de Paris" style without breaking the bank - especially since I am not that familiar with Basel. We were welcomed on a Friday evening without reservation and the staff was cheery and friendly, they were happy to explain to us the different aspects in the menu. Throughout the evening they were prompt and very accommodating to the different requests we had. In addition, the atmosphere was really nice, the restaurant has a charm, it feels like you are dining with friends in a bistro where they have known you for years. Most importantly, the food was amazing, the "allumettes" fries (shoe string fries) were amongst the best I've ever had, the entrecote -the main event- was very good and cooked according our preference. We also like the house wine, and the desserts. I think I've found my favorite place in Basel and would highly recommend it to everyone.

Pretty much ran into this place as we meandered through the narrow streets near Marktplatz. It seemed like a "regulars" place with communal seating and a simple menu. The waitress was patient, friendly, and attentive. I opted for the "eglifillet". Think lake perch. It was was battered and fried (not greasy at all) and came with a side of fries. The atmosphere is very cozy and they do have outdoor seating - weather permitting, great for people-watching and to enjoy the scenery.

Stopped here for dinner on my last night in Basel. Collectively we ordered beer, chianti, the garlic bread (very good but a bit pricey for the quantity), the cod with French fries (absolutely Delicious), the mussels Harmonie with French fries which was a seasonal special (a white broth with onions, garlic, and a trio of bell peppers), and the banana split for dessert (highly recommended). We sat right away and wait staff was very nice and helpful. Overall a bit pricey but no higher than the average. I recommend stopping by!

This is a great restaurant with terrific at the receding. If food is outstanding and it sits right on the edge of the old town how they recommend this restaurant

I visited with coworkers. I had the steak tartar which was excellent. I had the large portion which was actually too much. Other colleague had the perch which looked very nice. The waiter was very attentive. Prices where reasonable for Basel. I would return again.
