I come from Singapore! What has that gotta do with this review....? Because one of our national dish is chilli crab, and here in KL I found one that will embarrass many and let them suck their thumb (or fingers)! It was only because of the good reviews of the crabs, that I decided to give this a try after so many times at Wong ah wah (famed for their chicken wings). And... I wanted to make a point to prove that Singapore's chilli crabs are better... But not this time! But let's talk Abt my first dish, the Hokkien Mee... One of my fave dish in KL. But knowing this is a halal restaurant made me think ..how can they replicate this without pork lard?! Indeed, it does lack that lardy aroma but it was probably as best as they could have done. With their chicken pieces marinated well, it was still an above average dish. For this, I will give a 7 out of 10. But but but ... This entire review is mainly focusing on their Chilli crab! Mine was a small one @90rm, probably weighing about 450-500g. Decent pricing at such a touristy area, but it's the taste, the freshness and tenderness that blew me away! The meat was sweet and exceptionally (I say a 10 out of 10) tender. Not sure how they managed to do that! It was just unfortunate that I was eating alone and couldn't order the bigger crabs, as those would be so much easier to enjoy and savour the chunky meats! The sauce was interesting... This may have divided opinions... It tasted very much of ginger, egg, capsicum... Not commonly used for chilli crabs in SG. And it has that tinge of acidity... Maybe from lemon, like or vinegar? The taste was familiar, but yet uniquely delicious. Everytime I managed to scrap a bigger chunk of meat, I would dip the whole thing into the sauce and momentarily time travel to paradise... Sedap! The free 3 little steam buns I had were decent, but somehow, the sauce doesn't stick as well onto it, as would the usual fried ones I had in SG. But its free... Why shd I complain! ;p Eventually, this was the first time I drank so much of the chilli crab sauce in my life... I almost wanted to order a bowl of white rice to go with it! Only strange thing... The dish came within 10min. For a restaurant so busy, and to imagine cutting a live crab, and to cook, it's hard to imagine how they did it... Unless it's not live??? But who cares, when it taste better than most lives one I had. The only better crabs, disregarding the sauce and how it was prepared was Jumbo in SG and the birth place of Sri Lanka crabs.... In Sri Lanka! For a lack of budget, or for convenience, this KL crab is good enough for me. My rating for the crab... 9 5 out of 10!.I will be back!

Overall dinner dining experience is fair. The Restoran seems to be managed and run by friendly Burmese. Ordered all small size dishes. Escargots with dry shrimps gets a 7.5 Oyster and fried egg gets a 7 Enjoyed the spicy Kam Heong Balitung a lot especially !! Brought back loads of good memories …

Saw the reviews on Sai woo and decided to try. Glad I made this choice rather than going back to the old hunt! Ordered 3 dishes and all were great - stingray was fresh and juicy with nice sambal, fried kailan was fragrant and served wok hot, and the spicy kam heong cockles were delicious. Service was friendly and food served fast. It was really fun sitting outdoor near the walking lane and can people watch while listening to music next door!

Sai Woo Restaurant in Alor offers a pleasant seafood dining experience with dishes that are tasty and well prepared. The seafood is fresh and flavorful, making the meal enjoyable and satisfying. The atmosphere is relaxed and suitable for casual dining, perfect for sharing a good seafood meal with family or friends while enjoying the lively surroundings of Alor.

A restaurant located in the middle of the ever busy Jalan Alor. Tourist area (I know I know), but this particular shop has boatloads of local patrons actually! This will be my go to for dinners or late night suppers (opens till 2am). Fantastic food and attentive service at all times. Our favourites include their grilled stingray, stirred fried vegetables and as occasional splurge - one of the best chilli crabs in Kuala Lumpur. Updated: Tried their latest offering: nasi lemak and stirred fried dry shrimps with escargot - highly recommended!

The food is not bad, the quality is there and it’s worth the price. The fresh juices are highly recommended; you can tell they use plenty of fruit with very little water.

Google
Alor is super crowded, but this place is big, and have fast, good services. The indoor place is quite comfortable enough for big family. The food is amazing, the crab and the sauce is fantastic, the steamed fish is also good. The price, I think quite reasonable for tourist area

Yelp
This is one of my go to places in Jalan Alor Market. It is Chinese Malaysian with a focus on seafood. I love the Taiwanese Sprouts and you cannot go wrong with any seafood dish. They offer three sautee flavors. As a warning, this market gets CRAZY crowded in the evening. Most recently, I ordered a fruit drink and the glass was filthy. The management apologized. They also allowed me to change an order when I thought the taste was off. No discount but at least they graciously changed my order.

Yelp
The service was super friendly and fast. It was such a busy environment since the whole street is lined with restaurants but I enjoyed the liveliness. I got the sauce-soaked tofu as well as the steamed crabs with ginger and green scallions, and they were delish! The crabs were definitely my favorite. The tofu kind of tasted like tap water at times but maybe it was an off day.

Yelp
Kuala Lumpur - Located on the Jalan Alor, which is like a large outdoor food court. Many vendors, restaurants, shops, buskers, tourists and locals mingling along the street. Overall, a nice, relaxing atmosphere on a warm fall evening. Most restaurants, including the Sai Woo, were packed. Menu offered many choices - sort of overwhelming at first - but lots of seafood so I ordered a mixed seafood stir-fry, which was very good. Nothing unique but adequate serving size and tasty. Service was excellent considering how busy. Asked for a local beer and was served Anchor (European!). My table was next to the path in the middle of the street so enjoyed the buskers and people-watching.
