"Starting a day in Seward without a walk around town and a stop—a long stop—at Resurrect Art Coffee House would be simply ridiculous. The baristas are religious about serving excellent espresso drinks in this former church, a 100-year-old building that offers a warm spot to hang out on one of Seward’s not-so-nice days. But thanks to the often friendly conversations found inside (and plenty of room to read the paper or snag some time with the free Wi-Fi), it’s well worth devoting a piece of even the sunniest morning to Resurrect. Like the people of many an Alaskan town, Seward residents spend a lot of their summers focused on fishing and other busy summer stuff, but once fall rolls in, they turn toward each other for company as well as to solitary pursuits. Resurrect is at the center of both of those worlds as both a gathering place for locals and an art gallery for their work. There’s usually a dog or two hanging out inside, too. It’s just about perfect. The only downside: Resurrect closes at 7 p.m."

Alaska has such wonderful coffee spots and this is truly a gem! Should be a must visit on a visit to Seward. I tried their Dubai chocolate special latte and it was so good. The vibe of this place is great and if you get a seat in the loft with that big window then nothing like it!

Google
A very cute little coffee shop. There is seating downstairs and a few chairs upstairs in a little loft. The loft has great views and very comfy chairs! Got the killer clown latte and a berry berry Italian soda on the way out, and both were very delicious. Not too pricey, and the employees were super nice!

Google
Unique coffee house find this morning in Seward. Thanks Google . Great coffee first of all. Housed in an old church . Take your coffee to go and head east down the street for a walk on the waterfront. 5-8am sightings of orcas feeding.

Google
OBSESSED. Their iced matcha with whole milk and honey is SO yummy, we literally came here every day on our vacation. The inside doesn’t have too much seating but they have a cute upstairs with some chairs and windows. Their pastries were very yummy and some were gluten free which was great!

Google
Wow. I love this coffee shop. Went for breakfast on a Wednesday morning. Got a Chai latte w/oatmilk & a strawberry rose scone and a breakfast rococci(I think I spelled that right?) SO delicious! The girls working here did an amazing job decorating and filling the space with art from local artists. The atmosphere is very calming, welcoming, and authentic. Ordering was a smooth process and it's freshly made along with the food. My breakfast was filling, sweet, and satisfying. They were freshly making and stocking it throughout the morning. But stocking food with just the right amount - not too much not too little. Seriously I can't recommend this place enough!!

Google
Very cozy, lovely, warm place to get a coffee and I’ve got their tomatoes soup which was delicious so I highly recommend it. Upstairs they have furniture and chess pieces and table to play.. there is some arts and cards to look into and shop… I would definitely come back there on my next trip to Sewards ..

We came in October on our honeymoon, and this was a fantastic place to start most of our 4 day stay in Seward. Let me tell yea, I only like my coffee black when it hurts. The Sludge left a stain on my soul I haven't had since campfire coffee cooked for 4 hours while camping, and I loved every sip of it. My wife enjoyed her white chocolate mocha coffee. The jalapeno Bagel Bombs and huge Cinnamon Rolls were great! We had a few other bites and enjoyed everything we had here! The place was very cozy with a little 2nd floor area to sit and view the surroundings. The stained glass and art everywhere was great to just stop sit and look around at.

Google
Lovely place to start the day. The lines are LONG but they manage them well! Best thing to do is get there early and plan to wait/ browse. The coffees are delicious. Loved the snickers mocha Latte with caramel, hazelnut and mocha. The baked goods available are both sweet and savory depending on your interests. We had some of each and they did not disappoint!

Yelp
What a great gem! The baristas were friendly and definitely know how to make a great cup of coffee. The atmosphere is artsy and full of local casual vibes, and there is space for people to sit and work or chat. The line is a bit disorganized when it gets busy (just because of spacing) but it's worth the wait. We went a few times on our trip this visit (we visit a few times a year) and next time we will plan ahead to be hungry for the awesome looking pastries (they go quick!). Our oldest and my wife fell in love with the Nutty Irishman and won't vary from it now, and our youngest loves the Italian sodas. My stand by Vanilla Breve is always great as well. The owners also opened the new Book and Yarn store down the street and we visited there for opening day. A small but good collection of books and lots of yarn, and a friendly atmosphere. Grab your coffee and then head down there to browse and support a local bookshop!

Yelp
The chocolate chip cookies with sea salt....Aaaaaaamazing. I want the recipe. How is it done?! Also the focaccia looked good. They make it all in house. We stop here every time we are in Seward now. I got the birth irishman and it was too nutty for me this time, not enough Irish cream. Oh well. We also sat up in the top floor where there is a little book with stools, a couch and two chairs. The area wasn't very clean like the chairs and stuff. But the view was nice. We came at around 12:30 and there was about 10 people in line. Which honestly this place isn't that big so it was pretty crowded. They still sell lots of local stickers, jewelry, and art. We didn't have to wait long to get our coffee.

Andrea M.

Yelp
Great coffee, friendly staff, and fun art to look at while you wait. They also had a variety of baked goods - all made on-site.
google avatar

Valerie G.

Yelp
Cute and cozy, street parking available. Staff is friendly and kind, you will feel like a local coming in here. There is not much seating but you can find what you need. There is a cute dog to greet you as you walk in the door, and inside is filled with comfort, cozy seats, and local Alaskan art.
google avatar

Charles F.

Yelp
Cool spot. Coffee was really good. Even if you don't buy a drink, they have some great art pieces for purchase.

Yelp
We stopped in early in the morning when we got to Seward and the joint was already jumping! We ordered our coffees and got some snacks for the trail later - baristas were nice and we got our drinks quickly! For food we got the strawberry jam scone, blueberry basil bar, and bacon egg brioche roll to go with our coconut latte and americano! Everything was amazing - we couldn't wait to dig into the jam scone and the jam is scrumptious! My favorite was the blueberry basil bar (especially after a nice hike)! I would highly recommend this spot since everything we had was yummy, the atmosphere was nice, and there's lots of cool art/items to browse!
google avatar

Shelbie C.

Yelp
Very busy and popular with decent selection of baked goods, tight seating but some cute nooks and locally made art. They really need extra help. Customers are stacked 10 deep right now waiting for their drinks. And probably another 20 in line. We waited almost 25 minutes for our coffee. Croissants big but overcooked.
google avatar

Kim C.

Yelp
Beautiful building. Nice to look at the local art and jewelry for sale. Comfy seating. I got the snickers iced latte and it was good. Nice staff. Would definitely return.

Yelp
Found this little spot on accident before boarding a cruise. This place is a gem. Has nice people, great coffee, and little shopping area. Locals hang here too. Loved it so much.

Yelp
This is the best coffee shop I've ever been to. It's rustic and possibly evolved from an old church by looking at the windows. There's lots of art, hipster clothes, and games to play, and plenty of seating upstairs and downstairs. I had probably the best tea of my life, London fog, it was smooth, not too sweet, and full of flavor. The staff is friendly and the service is quick. A staple in Seward and a must see

Michele R.

Yelp
Ordered the Almond Joy- great tasting. ordered at 10:45 this morning and received at 11:14. Almost 30 minutes for a cup of coffee. Building is amazing to see. Great little coffee shop but took a lot of time to get the coffee.

Yelp
Bless this place and their delicious honey lattes and tasty pastries! Evidently very popular among locals and out-of-towners alike. We encountered a daunting line both mornings. Tempting to turn elsewhere but glad we stayed the course. There's plenty of eye candy along the route. Lots of local artisan wares to peruse, from stickers to jewelry to notebooks... plus a Treasurrection of vintage and new clothes on the other side of the coffee bar. The veggie quiche was light and flavorful. The cinnamon roll was done right with a thin layer of real cream cheese frosting topping a perfectly moist roll. Upstairs and downstairs seating as well as on their patio. There's a walk-up window as well, but don't be fooled into thinking it will be any faster. Baristas seemed to be on top of getting to everyone in their proper order of arrival whether they were inside or not. Your patience will be rewarded!
google avatar

Yelp
Locals and tourists alike flock here. Great baked goods options, sweet or savory. After a week of bad cruise ship coffee, we NEEDED THIS!

Yelp
So this was another incredibly cool place I discovered last summer, post-cruise, by accident. After a week and a half of very weird Alaska in the summer sun (about 20 hours of it), arriving in Seward, I really needed a coffee shop, so I was just looking for the nearest one to the hotel. I had no idea I'd find that the nearest coffee shop was in a converted church, with great local art all over it, including upstairs, and with equally good pastries, too! What a wonderful find! Anyway, what I was there for originally, I can confirm, they have great espresso, and make wonderfully good oat milk cortados. If I were ever back in Seward (presumably pre- or post-cruise, if I'm lucky!), I'd definitely come back here if I were looking for caffeine, that cortado was one of the best I've had. (Indeed, having discovered this place my first day in Seward, I *did* go back, the second of the two days we were there.) Also loved their pretty reasonable upcharge for oat milk (50 cents, as of a few months ago), and especially, that they didn't charge extra for the oat milk for the cortado (another reason I'd be there all the time if I happened to be in Seward.) I'd also come back if I needed any pastries - though their pastries seem to rotate frequently, as a few of the items from the first day weren't there the second one, including a gluten free cheesy biscuit my wife had wanted to get another one of, after trying it the first day and loving it (I tried a bite - I *never* like gluten-free biscuits, but theirs were a definite exception). I can also confirm, between the two days: the chocolate chip coffee was wonderful, extremely worth it, full of gooey, great chocolate. Might even beat (slightly!) my favorite chocolate chip cookie locally. The lemon bar, also super worth it, exactly what a good lemon bar should taste like. The lemon-lavender scone, super worth it as well, it was $5.50, but it was also fantastic. Perfect sweetness, and full of lemon and lavender, just a great scone. The cheese and prosciutto croissant, at $6, was a great croissant, but I did feel like for $6, could've used a bit more... prosciutto and cheese. Not sure I'd say that one was worth it (it was a great croissant though). Also, while I was happy to be back in the US, and therefore technically eligible for data... the Seward 4g coverage is pretty spotty, so I'm also happy to say, their wifi worked way better than our 4g coverage. One warning though, when I was there the first day at 3 pm on Saturday (clearly well after the morning rush), it wasn't busy, and I got an espresso super fast. When I was there the following morning, 10 am on a Sunday, it was busy as absolute *frack*, so the cortado obviously wasn't quite so fast. Not their fault, just clearly word is out! (As it should be, it's a super cool place. And did I mention all the great local art hanging all over the inside?)

Navin A.

Yelp
Good decor and ambience, but no, this is hot cappuccino . I was hoping for a decent cup of cappuccino here, but I'll have to look elsewhere.

Yelp
Our go to coffeeshop in Seward Alaska - stumbled across this gem many years ago and happy to report it continues to thrive. Coffees are expertly crafted... smooth... great selection of pastries and of course they feature great local artists. All of this a a quirky awesome space. In a town slowly loosing its local character... this is why you visit local communities and local joints.

Yelp
WE have been in Seward for two days and all coffees have been bad, how've this coffeshops was really good and the building is historic too. You can take some p photos there and buy some cool stuff crib there. The quality of coffee is good to. The peaple are friendly and warm. I only wish I would have found it earlier :-)
google avatar

Jeffrey M.

Yelp
This place is awesome. Real latte art with real mugs for coffee, NOT STARBUCKS!! The atmosphere is great, the art is great, the service is great. I had the vegetable quiche, and it was delicious.
google avatar

Howard S.

Yelp
Great espresso and bakery items Such friendly and approachable staff We would go back!
google avatar

Alysia D.

Yelp
Darling coffee cafe in Seward downtown area. We came multiple times. This place has one of a kind art. I bought an original water color painting from a local artist. Food and coffee was so good.
google avatar

Vanessa R.

Yelp
Coffee is excellent, baked good even better. It was a bit of a wait but ended up being worth it. Bacon brioche buns were my favorite.
google avatar

Yelp
We made sure to stop at this local coffee house before leaving Seward and I'm so glad we did! Resurrect Art is owned by a local couple. We met Mike on our wildlife cruise, who was our captain. They have a very special coffee house that is also a gallery of local art and little trinkets. There's even a little section that has up-cycled clothing! You'll find beautiful artwork and also local goods made by Alaskans. I purchased some sourdough starter. My latte was excellent and the goat cheese, garlic, and mushroom danish is to die for (be sure to have it heated up)! There is plenty of seating inside, including a choir loft with comfy seating. There's also a good bit of seating outside in a garden area. I miss this place already! Be sure to support a creative, local business and visit this coffee house and gallery when you are in Seward!
google avatar

Eric B.

Yelp
This is one of the most interesting coffee houses that I've been to. It's an old high-ceilinged church, with a choir loft (above the coffee bar) to match. The coffee line moved fast when we were there, but we were more focused on the church architecture and the various pieces of art (print mostly) around the sanctuary. We purchased some of that too, and appreciated the big white house dog that wandered in and out.
google avatar

Zurdar G.

Yelp
Friendly staff, interesting interior! Delicious coffee. I got the Irish coffee and bf got dirty chai. We shared a cinnamon roll and it's better than Cinnabon, doesn't need to be warmed up and it wasn't dry either ! Some seating inside and merchandise. Great for tourist like us.
google avatar

Christine N.

Yelp
My friends and I visited Alaska for our friend's wedding early June 2022, and absolutely adored this quaint coffee shop! So much that we came back for a second visit during our stay. They feature a lot of artwork for sale along with pastries, coffee, tea, and flavored Irish Soda. My favorite is their Kaladi drink - iced. Upstairs has a cool vintage chess set and some couches to lounge in if the first floor is too busy. I hope a location will open up in Eastvale, CA soon!
google avatar

Joy L.

Yelp
I've wanted to go here for years. I finally had the chance to stop on my most recent visit to Seward. It was everything I hoped it would be, and I wish we had allocated more time to peruse the art, but we arrives hear closing time. My latte wasn't very well prepared (milk was burnt) but my son liked his London Fog and my husband was pleased with his sludge. We found tons of wonderful locally made art items... we had a really hard time narrowing our choices. I highly recommend this to any visitors to Seward.
google avatar

Dave R.

Yelp
What a wonderfully delightful place! Scones and chocolate croissants were tasty, the ambiance is relaxing and the art is a bonus as well!
google avatar

Jeff K.

Yelp
Wow such a cool place! Amazing building filled with art from local artists that you can purchase. Cheap stickers, mugs, cards, etc. Tea's were great. Awesome place.
google avatar

Ella H.

Yelp
Went to resurrect art coffee house after an afternoon walk, and met the wonderful owner along with the cute dog. This place is a treasure, filled with good vibes and sunshine. What a lovely find!
google avatar

Patricia B.

Yelp
I ordered a hot Mocha with Strawberry flavor. It was so good. The doctor here was nice. The atmosphere was hip and relaxing.

Abby P.

Yelp
Very cute little coffee place. Lots of options for flavored coffee and they're very happy to personalize for what you want. One little corner has thrifted/secondhand items, and the rest of the shop has art from local Alaskan artists. Fun to browse while you sip your coffee. It also has comfy chairs and a fireplace so I imagine it's cozy in colder days too.

Yelp
If you know me, you know the last thing I am is a church goer, spiritual sure, religious no! But put a coffee shop in an old church and you'll have me singing Holy by the Biebs real quick. Resurrect was really my saving grace, and first time I really felt pretty happy, comfortable and myself on this recent trip to AK. This is the coziest, warmest, most perf little spot to grab coffee and relax. Had I come on this trip solo, I'd probably sit in here and read or write for hours. I really enjoyed the vibe of this place. My friend and I didn't stay terribly long, because we thought we were going to go to exit glacier not knowing the road was closed (story for a different day) but I picked up not only an oat latte but also a few cards with really cute puffin art work on them since I didn't get to see any puffins in real life and a nice little homemade sweater in the clothing area. With so many shops in the area closed if you're looking for little gifts and great coffee this the spot, it's the only place I really purchased anything aside from a shop closer to the Kenai River area in the drive out of Homer into Seward. Really perfect spot and so thankful they are open this time of year.
google avatar

Regan J.

Yelp
Love this place. Best coffee in Seward. Atmosphere and staff are really good. The building is an old church from the 70s and the seating is nice. Can be pretty busy for most hours but overall a great experience. Really recommend at least going once. Also have lots of local art and vendors!
google avatar

Steve V.

Yelp
What a cool setting! Even more than the great coffee, the setting really sets this place apart from anywhere else in town. Set in an old church, there is a nice courtyard, alter, stained glass windows, fireplace and upstairs balcony with great views. Even if you weren't going to get coffee, you should visit just to check out the place. Along the walls are some booths for seating (look like old pews). Along the back wall, several tables are setup with local artist sundries for purchase. There is a tiny bathroom in the back corner (given the church setting, feels like you are in a confession box - Catholics know what I mean!) Coffee was great. Reasonable prices. Nice selection of backed goods as well. Staff were friendly. For the most part, COVID-precaution friendly.
google avatar

AngryYoungMan X.

Yelp
Great coffee. Great baked goods. Funky stuff and memorabilia. Statue of hindu god Ganesha outside... eclectic and truly unqiue with some views. Definitely worth a stopping a time or two!!
google avatar

Asya Z.

Yelp
Lovely, fairytale-like location, delightfully imaginative coffee beverages and delicious desserts - what a fantastic and unique coffee house! We were seated on the 2nd floor, at the bell tower of the coffee house. I was sipping my coffee beverage, enjoying my lavender scone and taking in the beautiful views from a picturesque window. What a glorious experience! I even bought a mug here to take home. I can't wait to come back here on our next trip!
google avatar

Matt M.

Yelp
What a wonderful place to go relax and enjoy a cup of coffee. You can't help but look around at the art hanging on the wall. Plenty of souvenirs to purchase. Oh yeah, the coffee is great as well. Plenty of choices and unique little things they'll advertise as specials for the day. My two regrets would be I missed out on trying some of the food. Shame really. Second, the WiFi wasn't worth anything using. But you'll be too busy enjoying what's around you instead of looking at your phone.
google avatar

Walt P.

Yelp
Great coffee! Great vibe. Total laid back place with fun seating areas and local art for sale. Lots of gluten free items as well.
google avatar

Andrew H.

Yelp
Boy howdy, am I ever late to the party for this one! My Anchorage Elites have been raving about this spot for a while, so what took me so long? I recently have a friend visit from Seattle (used to be my roomate in Anchorage), he said "I want to go to that one coffee shop that used to be a church, is it still there?" To which I said "Wait...WUT?!" Yep, I had never been. Now I have fixed that. This is a quaint, tiny, adorable church that's now a community gathering spot and coffee shop. Tons of local art and local gifts (think touristy stuff...made for the type of tourists that hike and bike their way through Alaska...rather than...uh...cruise n' booze?) along with, of course, coffee. They also have a selection of baked goods that are great to take on a hike for a summit treat. Try a "bagel bomb": a bagel in nugget form, stuffed with cream cheese, or a cinnamon roll!
google avatar

Darren J.

Yelp
Simply the best coffee shop in Seward. The drinks are great a large selection of sugar-free options available too. Great eclectic vibes in the coffee shop make for a wonderful atmosphere. When warm enough to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful views.
google avatar

Edward F.

Yelp
Great selection of pastries baked here on site in the basement- scones, quiche, biscuits, and more. Nice coffee drink selection though maybe not an espresso connoisseur's place. Clearly a local favorite with attentive and efficient service. Awesome building- an old church with high ceilings, wonderful window and other nice details. Just a really nice place to start the day.
google avatar

Preeti R.

Yelp
The best coffee we had in Alaska and delicious baked goods! Cappuccinos had a smooth finish and we loved it with the flaky mushroom goat cheese pastry, the jalapeno bacon bagel bomb and the lavender scone. Such a cute coffee shop with many local art on display and lots of plants. The upstairs couch area has gorgeous snow capped mountain views and also a chess table with the cutest chess pieces. Stop by when in Seward!
google avatar

Victoria W.

Yelp
Came here on a Thursday morning & it was pretty packed. The line does go pretty fast! The vibes of the coffee shop was homey and warm. Definitely try their bagel bomb - it was so delicious!! The outside was crunchy but inside was soft and flavorful!

Tracey S.

Yelp
We found this little Gem that was a five minute walk from the place we were staying. Great Pastries and coffee. Staff is very friendly. I had the bacon and egg brooch and it was yummy!!
google avatar

Ellie N.

Yelp
London fog + lavender: 5/5 Savory Sourdough biscuits: 5/5 Bacon bagel bomb: 5/5 Super cute inside. Friendly baristas:6/5 Don't forget to check out upstairs area. It's a bit hidden

Yelp
Me: "May I have a cortado?" Barista: "No" Me: "No?" Barista: "I don't know how to make that and I don't want to mess it up." Touché. Such a great answer. I'm so glad she said that so I could tell her how I would like it made. Which she gladly made! And it was delicious. And this place is delicious. Delicious for the eyes as you travel across the amazing (and expensive) artwork. Delicious to the ears as you hear the soft hum of working and creaking floorboards. Delicious to the nostrils as one receives wafts of freshly grounded coffee and old wood. Delicious inside and out.

Rachel G.

Yelp
Good espresso and really interesting pastries. The jam scone was such a surprise as it was a great consistency. Cute place and nice staff

Harrison F.

Yelp
Great coffee, breakfast and sweet treats! I absolutely love the ambience and all the local art on display. Always a must visit anytime I'm in Seward!

Peg A.

Yelp
this place was charming and the staff great. Service is slow but worth it as they take their time to make great coffee!
google avatar

Whitney P.

Yelp
We loved this coffee shop so much that we went twice on our two day stay in Seward. Such a cool vibe and concept to make a coffee shop inside of a church building. Also loved all the local art and jewelry. Plus the baked goods were delicious. I could have sat here and read for days!
