We spent 2 nights & writing while having breakfast, nice place to stay, the view from the rooms is delightful, pity weren't equiped w/ AC but have fans. Ms Joyce & David welcomed us with open arms AND Ms Joyce's Jamaican meals & breakfast, OMG, went back to my childhood 😊♥️, Ms Joyce prepared my favorite soup 💛❤️💚🥰. I recomend this retreat 10min from Falmouth center & Martha Brae & 5min drive from 876 beach, if U like to walk it's 15min

We spent 2 nights at Retreat Guest House and we had a great experience. Having real Jamaican meals prepared by Ms Joyce was an absolute luxury (the jerk chicken and the jamaican breakfast were delicious!). Ms Joyce and David were so kind and welcoming, 10/10.

The room is okay. However, the owner seems to have the same business model as the budget airlines which would charge for anything she possibly can including using of AC and massage chair, soap etc. On top of the final price from booking, the owner insist charging US$25 extra government tax which I have never been asked in five other hotels I used in Jamaica! it’s absolutely a ripoff! The location is in a remote area where you need to walk thirty minutes under the torching sun to access main road and taxi, otherwise the owner will charge you US$35 one way to the city. With that money, you might as well find a better hotel in town. The internet is weak in my room and the owner refuses to change the room for me and even accuse that it is my phone having problem which is not true as I have no problem else where. If you don’t mind paying extra to the city and without access to internet you will be fine. Otherwise, choose somewhere else! Also, I found a leech in the pool which is so weird….

Checked in on 4/12/23 checked out 4/14/23. we were supposed to be there 5 days left in 2 . Mrs.Joyce and her son David welcomed us upon arrival then had us sign our receipt and pay$50 dollar upgrade from garden to ocean. lol ocean view hardly visable the room was larger room however we paid $40 a night charge for the air conditioner that could not cool the room. They provided ripped and torn towels for us to use and no face cloth or soap. we noticed a sign on the wall stating that they sold their guest soap. There is a very fancy looking jacuzzi shower that do not work properly and water pressure seemed to be a problem. The hot water was lukewarm. Later that night we were startled from our sleep with sounds seeming like someone was breaking in by tunneling through the floor. When we went to check it out I noticed the floor was buckeling. I called Mrs Joyce & she and David came up apologized and moved us to a smaller room.||The smaller room was cooler but David could not find the proper remotes for the TV. The bathroom in this room toilet kept getting clogged. The shower was filthy; it had black mold in it.|This was the final straw we packed up the next night and left. To prove there is no exaggeration check out the pictures |Parts of the home is beautiful but this property needs some professional repair not patch work.|There is a pool but no filtration water not circulating so I would guess there in no one checking the clorine levels |The last thing is there is nothing close by so you need transportation. They will recommend someone and they will come and transport you the cheapest ride 2.5 kilometers away $30 dollars. $100 for round trip to Montego Bay 21 kilometers.

The owner Ms. Joyce and son David are warm and friendly. She is also an excellent chef. The rooms have vaulted ceilings and are quite spacious. The surroundings offer a true retreat from a chaotic world, a place to relax and exhale. You are serenaded by the birds in the morning and delighted by the beautiful sunsets. We spent 1 week and it was conveniently located to a beach if you are a not a pool person like me. Overall I highly recommend!!!

Our night at the Retreat Guest House was amazing! From the great views, to our beautiful room, we would return in a heart beat. We even received a homemade meal that was incredible! David and Joyce were great hosts and extremely hospitable! Don’t miss out on this hidden gem!

This was a surprisingly nice villa. It was nicely decorated and the staff was nice. Our room was accommodating although we did not have air conditioning the ceilings were high and the ceiling fan was enough to keep it cool. The bathroom was nothing fancy but clean downside no hot water. They serve breakfast for a small fee you can have Jamaican breakfast or American style. I chose Jamaican and it was good. Only true downside is if you don't have a car you don't have outside convenience of walking to shops and stores. I think they should have vending machines on site because if you don't bring anything then your late night munchies won't happen.

As a guest for the first time I am definitely giving a 5-star rating. We were running late for our checking-in but Joyce the owner was gracious enough to wait until we got there. During our checking-in, we discovered that the room we had paid for through Expedia was not the room we were getting. So after going back and forth with Expedia and not getting anywhere, Joyce communicated that not one of her guests who comes to her would be unhappy. So she made it possible that the room that we came in mind for is the one we would be getting. This guest house is truly amazing. Never seen anything so sparkling clean from the outside to the inside. The services were fantastic, from the food to the hospitality was truly an amazing experience. I certainly recommend this place to anyone who wants a place to stay that will make them feel like home away from home. I will definitely be staying there each time I return to Jamaica because she made our experience truly one to be remembered. Thank you again to the staff and the owner of retreat guest housing.
