From our arrival to our departure we felt very well taken care of by Memory and all of the staff. It truly felt like a home away from home. The common areas of the hotel and our room were well maintained and within a stone's throw from Kloof Street. When we got our room, we were pleasantly surprised by a handwritten note and welcome treat. The bed was comfortable and turndown service was appreciated. Daily breakfast was plentiful and had a nice variety of cold food items as well as made-to-order hot food. The team helped us with bookings and provided us with tips for how to enjoy and explore the city safely. We were sad to leave and hope to one day make it back again!

Thank you to Prince, Thompson, Memory, and Sydney for making our 3-night stay a special one. ||The staff make this place feel like family and that is what is what makes it special. I also really enjoyed the communal areas, especially at night with the fire going.||The location is good, with quick access to Camp's Bay, Lion's Head, and City Center. Also, being right off of Kloof Street is an added plus for walkability and getting to good restaurants and bars quickly. Lastly, our room had a view of Table Mountain, which was magical.||There really is nothing this place cannot do. The breakfasts in the mornings were delicious and they fielded so many of our requests including ironing and washing our clothes.||If you are staying here to relax, I would look upmarket, but this was a perfect base for the city and doing things around it.

Absolutely beautiful boutique hotel/bnb style accomodations. It's well decorated, the staff is welcoming and breakfast is good. There is a continental setup and honesty bar available outside of breakfast hours. Staff also gave excellent dinner recommendations in town. The neighborhood around the hotel is fairly quiet, it's next to a high school. ||Only minor critique is the board games in the living room have def seen better days.

We had the most wonderful stay at Welgelegen House. A few things made this property a standout. First and foremost were the most kind and welcoming staff. The hospitality was at the highest level, especially with Memory, Thompson, Prince, and the morning chef, who made the most delicious and hearty breakfasts. They were helpful in arranging meals, itineraries, and helping to strategize how to maximize our time in Cape Town. The property itself was charming with bespoke and cozy rooms, an interior courtyard retreat, and sumptuous sitting rooms. When we return, we will most certainly be staying at Welgelegen House again.

What a wonderful little gem this hotel is! Tucked into a quiet, safe neighborhood at the base of Table Mountain, this B&B type hotel excelled in every way possible. Memory, the wonderful Concierge, welcomed us and showed us our beautiful room and described all the services available during our stay. Unfortunately, I had developed a serious case of Bursitis in my left leg and had mentioned it to Memory. She promptly called a doctor who immediately came to the hotel, helped me with the pain and gave me a prescription for meds for the remainder of our two week trip. The cost was amazingly reasonable. That kind of attention and response was way over the top and made our entire trip better! All of the other staff were exceptional too.

Our stay at Welgelegen House in May 2025 was fantastic. We're a family of four, parents and two adult children. The rooms (1 double, 1 with two twins) were spacious with comfy beds. Breakfasts were delicious in a lovely dining area. The highlight of our stay was the staff, with special shout outs to Memory, Buja, and the kitchen staff, everyone ensured were enjoyed beautiful Cape Town. Welgelegen's location is a just two blocks from Kloof St with it's excellent restaurants and fun bars.

Welgelegen House is a gem in Cape Town. It is located in a lovely quiet neighborhood just a couple of blocks from Kloof Street. It sits at the base of Table Mountain with a beautiful view of the mountain. The house is beautiful and quaint. Our room was spacious. The breakfast was delicious with ample cold items and a choice of hot breakfast. By far the best aspect was the service. All of the staff were attentive and friendly. The managers Memory and Thompson were amazing! They were so accomodating and attended to our every need. Truly top notch service. We would definitely stay here again!

My two sons, granddaughter and I spend three nights at this lovely bed and breakfast. It was clean, the food was excellent, the views were exceptional, the staff was incredibly accommodating and friendly and the location was perfect—safe and within walking distance of good restaurants. If you are looking for a place in Cape Town, this is it. Book it today!
