Where to Eat the Best Focaccia in Italy

"A family-run bakery and pasticceria on the promenade renowned for an iconic Ligurian flatbread made with local Stracchino cheese; customers queue each morning for sheets of gooey focaccia al formaggio and other varieties (onion, sage, anchovy, olive, plain) that are baked fresh daily since the 1960s. The shop traces its roots to a historic oven and a crafty workaround in 1970 that allowed the owners to sell focaccia on Sundays by treating it like a dessert; that entrepreneurial spirit grew into the first dedicated focacceria on the Riviera. The production is hands-on and generational—thin layers of dough encase spooned nuggets of creamy cheese, finished with olive oil and salt—yielding a contrasting crisp-and-pillowy texture. The business remains family-centered, with multiple generations working early hours, producing roughly 40 sheets a day depending on weather and tourist flow, and it’s recognized by the regional consortium as an authentic producer of the traditional Focaccia di Recco." - Lauren Breedlove

Google
Came for the focaccia fromagio, which I'm still dreaming about....got a few other focaccias which were delicious too, but the fromagio one was best. Came back later to try the cookies/desserts! Picked a few out, then asked if they had any recommendations and got those too. All delicious and some flavors we weren't used to.

Google
Small little bakery with an amazing focaccia bread. The cheese one is so thin that it’s almost like a crêpe, but it is delicious! Beware if you take your focaccia to the beach as the seagulls know to look for it and I saw somebody get theirs taken, and their hand bitten!

If you’re anywhere near Liguria, make a stop at Revello Focacceria — it’s absolutely worth it. Everything is freshly baked and full of flavor, starting with their focaccia di Recco, which is nothing short of addictive. Light, crispy, and oozing with cheese, it’s the kind of thing you think about days later. Then came the surprise: Camogliesi. How I had never come across these before is beyond me — a perfect bite of pastry and cream that instantly wins you over. This place alone justifies a quick detour. Totally worth it.

The setup is misleading: you choose your focaccia, they weigh it, and you’re charged an extremely high price per kilogram—without clear signage or explanation. I ended up paying nearly €10 for just two small, underwhelming pieces. The focaccia itself was overly greasy and lacked flavor—certainly not worth the premium. When a full, freshly made pizza costs the same or less nearby, this place feels like it’s taking advantage of tourists. Would not recommend.

Google
The focaccia here is delightful, they have lots of different options with toppings but the best is the classic one (camoglina). Always busy with fresh bread being baked and coming out. If you're lucky like us you'll get a warm slice - to be enjoyed immediately!

Google
Nice spot on one of the most popular beaches of Camogli. Price surprisingly reasonable. Really like the pizza slice and the pesto foccaccia but the standard foccaccia was a little stale. Overall I recommend

Google
Tiny bakery with fantastic focaccia (probably the best I’ve ever had) and delicious treats! Great location overlooking the main beach, with benches just outside the entrance. Wish I didn’t live 4,400 miles away!

Yelp
Our favorite focaccia in the region. The oroginal and recco were both excellent, and my kids really liked the pizza as well.

Yelp
This is really Focaccia heaven. We didn't have much time and the line was long. But we really needed to try a bit here. They got lots of other items which all look good and surely a place to come back to. But this time we went for the classic Focaccia. And that was possibly the best one we've had so far. Really lives up to the hype. It's so soft and fluffy. Got the right texture - which isn't easy to get. You'll need some really good starter yeast, the older the better. And they surely got some good stuff here in the kitchen. It's a bit sweet, it's a bit salty. It's just got the right balance. You could top it with some ingredients. But to really taste it - at least the first time - just eat it like that. It's divine. We'll definitely be back here for more. And other products.

Yelp
Ravello is an institution in Camogli, if you want focaccia, especially focaccia col formaggio, in Camogli, this is the place. Get in the long line and be patient, it'll be worth it. Other things are good too, torta di riso or torta di bietole for example. Got a few canestrelli, but those were not fresh, very disappointing, so maybe ask if the cookies are freshly made. Focaccias are for sure fresh, they keep baking continuously. Highly recommended.

Yelp
This place is fantastic. You can tell they've been around for a while, in a good way. It's the perfect place to grab breakfast or focaccia and take it to eat on the beach or a pre dinner snack. Actually it's perfect for any time of day. Had the marmalade pastry, cheese focaccia and onion focaccia. The onion focaccia was my favorite. So flavorful and soft. 4.70 euro for everything, what a steal. I went at 840am and there were a few people. If you go at prime time around lunch hours, be prepared for the line to be out the door.

Yelp
The camogliesi are out of this world. How have I never heard of this dessert before? Try all the flavors, but the original is rum.

Yelp
Revello is definitely the reference place in Camogli for focaccia (in local dialect - fugassa). I've yet to find a better place in Camogli or Recco for focaccia di Recco (cheese focaccia) - taste it warm, it's just delicious! Normal focaccia (semplice or normale) is crisp and slightly more oily than average. Service is essential but courteous. Tip: if you happen to be in Camogli after 4:30 PM, ask for Farinata here - it is heavenly!

Yelp
Stopped here for the first time and purchased a few different flavors of the focaccia and all were great, although the cheese was our favorite! Super affordable and it is perfect for take away, easy to eat on the go. The front porch has little seating but offers a beautiful view of the sea.
