Our Favorite Universal Orlando Resort Attractions You Can't Miss | Condé Nast Traveler

"Revenge of the Mummy, a six-story indoor coaster, doesn’t look intimidating from the outside, but what lies inside is an intense ride with speeds topping out at 45 mies per hour, pitch-black drops, and a mummy out to steal your soul. Based on The Mummy films, the ride starts with a set tour with prop displays and a video (with actor Brendan Fraser) in which crew members warn of a curse plaguing production. After that, you'll board a rickety cart to tour an archaeological dig site where the mummy appears—and where the high-speed chase begins. Wait times for this attraction can approach 60 minutes on busy days, though Universal Express Pass is accepted here, and there’s also a single-rider line if you’re brave enough to tackle this one solo." - Valerie Marino

One of the best rides at Universal. The mix of dark ride elements, surprises, and coaster thrills makes it unforgettable. Definitely a must-ride. Just a note — you can’t bring bags, so either take a very small purse or use the lockers before getting in line.

MEN IN BLACK Alien Attack is a shooter-style dark ride that emphasizes interactivity and replayability over cinematic immersion. You’re cast as a new recruit tasked with zapping aliens across a retro-futuristic cityscape, all while your ride vehicle spins and shifts direction. The scoring system adds a layer of competition, encouraging guests to refine their aim and timing with each ride. While the blasters can be inconsistent and the visuals lean nostalgic, the experience is quietly rewarding—especially for those who enjoy tracking progress and mastering technique. It’s one of the few attractions where your performance directly shapes your satisfaction. Beyond the gameplay, the ride’s tone is light and self-aware. The queue mimics a government office with cheeky alien animatronics and humorous signage, setting the stage for a ride that doesn’t take itself too seriously. The famous red button twist at the end adds a strategic layer, and the overall vibe is playful rather than intense. For someone like you who values structure, feedback, and low-pressure engagement, this ride offers a refreshing alternative to more sensory-heavy attractions. It’s not about spectacle—it’s about skill, humor, and the joy of quiet mastery.

Another classic ride from few originals that remain at Universal Studios Florida. It can be a bit jerky and there is no lumbar support, but is is my wife’s favorite and therefore mine. 😳 It is a n excellent short rollercoaster that is woven well into the movies via backstage-behind-the-scenes perspective that is just as canny and fun as the movies themselves. Have fun!!

Wonderful ride and experience! And in particular a thank you to ride attendant Holden for a tour of the queue and some backstage areas!! You we're awesome for taking the time to give us all kinds of insider knowledge about the attraction and its inner workings.

One of my favourite’s at Universal. The ride is smooth and visuals are great. It’s quick, but not too fast and it has all the qualities of a great dark ride. Suitable for people with mild motion sickness like me. It’s a short 3 minute trip full of fun

For sure was a great experience. Very well decorated the whole way through and it comes with a ride, there is a separate line for single riders. You have to check this one out if you are visiting this side of the park!! Has a little store you can grab a few souvenirs from at the end as well. The service there and on the ride are both good and quick! Enjoyyyyy!

I wish I would've gotten their names. Last night (10/1) during HHN, I was helped by the 2 most badass people. I am a plus size person and am limited to what rides I fit in - 2 saints that worked the cars made sure to get me on the ride! They didn't shame me, get inpatient and checked to make sure I was comfortable. It made what could've been a very embarrassing moment fun and empowering! Thank you to the person with the Nancy glasses and the other person with the very cool haircut! More folks like this please!!

This is a great ride that I enjoyed very much. My older daughter really liked it especially because of her interest in the ancient Egyptian culture. Although the height requirement is 42” I would not recommend for younger kids because the mummy can easily scare kids (and some adults)!
