Driving Thailand's Mae Hong Son Loop on a Motorbike Was One of the Best Things I Did in the Country

"But experts have told me the riverside Reverie Siam is the most “luxurious” hotel in Pai, with just a handful of rooms and a vintage, late 19th-century aesthetic." - Meagan Drillinger Meagan Drillinger Meagan Drillinger left New York City for a life on the road. The word that sums up this hotel is exquisite! The whole property is just perfect. A relaxed atmosphere. Beautifully furnished rooms. River frontage. Immaculate gardens. Great restaurant. There are two swimming pools. One for normal swimming and one that has swim up rooms. It is such an unusual pool with sloping stone sides, very beautiful. It is the best Thai hotel I have stayed in, and I've stayed in a lot! Price is more than most in Pai, but it is definitely worth it. If you can afford it, stay here.

Oasis in hippie city Pai. The rooms are spacious, well decorated with huge beds. The restaurant is one of the best in Pai with very reasonable pricing. The swimming pools are fantastic

We only had one night at this hotel. |Staff were polite and helpful. |The room was large and clean. The grounds of the hotel are very nicely laid out, two swimming pools which were too cold for us in December evening. Nice riverfront seating area. |We had dinner here which was nice and they were able to swap out the salad for some cooked vegetables which we appreciated. However the menu was a bit thin on local dishes. |For the price of the stay we found breakfast disappointing and needs improving. They provide each guest with:|4x small pieces of fruit |Some bread|2x small pancakes|Tiny shot glass size of yoghurt|One cooked plate from their menu. We had the pai scramble which was nice. ||If you want more for breakfast you could order something else for an additional cost. ||The overall breakfast portions were meagre, they should at least have an open buffet for the fruits, yoghurts, breads so guests can help themselves, not control these few pieces each. ||If visiting Pai we would see what other options are available as for the price we expected a better standard of breakfast.

Although only a km or so from the centre of Pai, full of backpackers doing there noisy thing, RS is an oasis of tranquility. The gardens are spacious and beautifully maintained. Two more than adequate pools. A pavilion overlooking the river provides an opportunity for quiet contemplation. Spacious room with very large bathroom.|I would dispute suggestions that there is anything wrong with the food. Take a look at the website. European focused perhaps but plenty of choice at dinner and breakfast. Beautifully presented, generous and very tasty dishes, along with a decent offering of drinks.|The staff are first rate and we much enjoyed their afternoon tour and sunset picnic (although it was more like afternoon tea but none the worse for that). |Highly recommended.

This is a genuinely exceptional hotel. The rooms are beautiful, pools and grounds unique, food incredible. I wish I booked for longer. It was also walkable to some shops including a nice bakery and cafe. I didn't end up liking Pai much due to the foreigner scene, but this hotel was a bright exception.

My partner and I truly loved our stay at Reverie. The hotel itself is so beautiful, we didn’t realise that the Pai river flows right beside the property. The hotel has a gorgeous Verendah area by the river, with cute seats where you can meditate or order drinks and food and listen to the peaceful sounds of the water flowing and birds. The staff at Reverie were incredible at their job! They were so professional and would go above and beyond to ensure comfort for everyone’s stay. The villa rooms were so spacious, we loved the full private access to the gardens. The jacuzzi in the rooms felt like such a treat! We were absolutely captivated by how beautiful everything was throughout the property (rooms, grounds, restaurant, common spaces etc). The food itself was delicious! I loved the breakfast high tea that everyone got alongside a full meal. We mostly stay in the hotel for our entire stay (5 nights) because we enjoyed it so much! We also ordered lots of room service because dinner and lunch options were very tasty! We would return to Pai just to stay here again! I would love to gatekeep this place because it’s a boutique hotel with limited rooms but it’s just simply too exceptional to not share. Highly recommend!

Reverie Siam is an absolute gem. The atmosphere is peaceful and beautifully designed, blending luxury with a cozy, boutique feel. The rooms are spacious, thoughtfully decorated, and incredibly comfortable. The staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome, always friendly and attentive without being overbearing. One of the highlights is the food—both breakfast and dinner are excellent, with fresh ingredients and great attention to detail. The location is perfect, close to the heart of Pai but far enough to enjoy quiet and stunning views. Whether you’re relaxing by the pool, exploring the surrounding nature, or just unwinding in your room, Reverie Siam makes your stay unforgettable. Highly recommend!
