Disappointing Experience on Diwali
We were a group of 5 who had booked a table a day in advance through Google for 20th Oct, 9pm. On calling the restaurant in the afternoon about parking, the manager suddenly claimed they have “stopped online reservations” — even though the slot was available and confirmed on Google. When I asked his name (atleast thriceA) he disconnected the call without telling.
Not taking a chance, we reached at 7:30pm. The restaurant was barely 40% occupied. Our waiter Kabir was polite and helpful — full marks to him for service.
The major issue happened at billing — they flatly refused to accept Zomato payment despite Zomato showing a good discount option. There was no notice displayed, and we were not told at entry or while ordering. The manager “Shrikant Pedhnekar” was unapologetic and defensive instead of clarifying or expressing regret. While we were leaving, another manager (name unknown) also argued with us. In this era of 'Customer First', not once these managers showed any signs of being apologetic nor regret. The high-handed attitude spoiled our mood. Especially when the prices are comparable with premium restaurants. While prices match that of premium restaurant, the customer-centric attitude does not.
Other aspects:
• Ambience feels dated — furniture and décor easily 15–20 years old
• Prices are comparable to premium restaurants but food is only average in taste and portion
• We ordered for two cocktails but they were not well made.
• Service charge of 10% was added automatically while most restaurants of this level charge 5% (we got it removed)
• Restaurant is on 1st floor - No lift so elderlies and people with mobility issues will find it difficult to reach the restaurant
Overall, good food and smiling service of Kabir the waiter saved complete disaster. One star is for him. 4 stars goes out for an unprofessional and disappointing handling of guests. Would not recommend until management fixes confirmed reservations, billing transparency and how they treat their customers.
