I initially intended to stay at Nonni Guesthouse for only a few nights, but I ended up extending my stay multiple times, and stayed there for more than three weeks while I looked for a permanent place of residence. The owner is incredibly friendly and willing to help with any questions you may have/booking you may want to do. The dog is adorable. The private rooms are spacious and clean, the air conditioning works very well, and all for a price as low as you will find anywhere in the city. The location is excellent, a short walk from the south gate of the old city, and near many restaurants/massage parlors/this one great little bakery. I was really happy with my time at Nonni, and highly recommend staying there.

A very clean, cozy hotel/guest house. I stayed here on two occasions during my visits to Chiang Mai. The owner Allan is extremely friendly and funny and gave me tools and some parts to help me fix my suitcase's broken handle. He's also knowledgeable about the area and is happy to give you tips and ideas. His little white fluffy dog Chanom is ridiculously cute, and I loved playing with her. There's just a very nice ambience and energy here. The rooms cost almost as little as a bed at a local hostel! I actually moved out of a hostel and came here. There air-conditioning is pretty quiet, the bathrooms are clean, and you get towels and soap. The refrigerator in the room is a nice feature as I always buy lots of fruit. I've traveled in Asia for half a year, and this is one of the best values I've seen.

This hostel is highly recommended if you’re traveling alone. Place is super sociable, made loads of friends while staying here. Social reps Luella and Meg were so nice, they made sure that I get what I needed like going to an Elephant Sanctuary and Cooking Class. The Pub Crawl was soooo fun, with the reps! Will stay here again for sure!!

We stayed in Northern Thailand for two weeks and this was our favorite place to stay. Great location, great price and great staff. Allan, the owner of the guesthouse, is an incredible human with a great sense of humor. Hot showers that stayed hot. It's about a 30 second walk to the Saturday Night Market as well. Allan and his staff accommodated us beyond our expectations.

Very clean little guesthouse, with a nice patio, and a super hospitable Kiwi owner named Allan. It's my new go-to guesthouse for Chiang Mai. The private rooms are super cheap, and are very clean. The beds are well above average (especially for Thailand), and each room has an air-conditioner and also an oscillating fan. Allan is a great guy to have a chat about virtually anything (especially if you're looking for stuff to do in Chiang Mai) but also just a good guy to have a chat with in general.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The rooms were clean & ample for our needs. Alan the gentleman who runs it was welcoming & entertaining. He could do enough for us. He also helped my son retrieve his passport which he had left in his room. Alan kindly arranged for it to be couriered to Bangkok saint my son a lot of problems.

I've been to Chiang Mai multiple times and my biggest regret is not finding this place sooner! The owner, Allan is a genuine and very nice guy! He makes you feel at home and is always happy to answer your questions, give advice about the area or just sit around the front of the hotel and talk to you. He's a very easy person to get along and have a laugh with. His little dog, Chanom is the cutest little ball of fluff too! She will come over to you for some fuss and it's impossible to resist giving her some belly rubs! The guesthouse itself is ideal for anyone on a budget! The rooms are basic but it's perfectly priced for the location and the beds are Western style comfortable! You also get given a front door key, so arriving late back at the guesthouse isn't a problem. The shared bathrooms are again, pretty basic but absolutely fine. The showers are powerful and hot! There is a small food market area less than a 5 minute walk away towards the walled city that sells street food much cheaper than the night market. There is a 7 Eleven and Tesco Lotus near there too. If you are in Chiang Mai on a Sunday, I would advise walking up to the Sunday night market. It's only 1km (10-15min walk) away from Nonni Guesthouse too! We were supposed to stay here for 2 nights but we ended up staying for 4! 100% reccomend this place, me and my girlfriend with definately be back next time we visit Chiang Mai! Thanks Allan!

Private rooms with 2 shared baths at very economical rate makes it a great choice if you want many days to explore Chiang Mai and the region on a shoestring budget. Allan is a super host. This place also offer many different types of tours and activities. The place is a bit dated but everything works in the room, and the wifi was super fast. If I have to name one improvement, it will be more frequent housekeeping of the bathroom because of rhe use by multiple guests.
