Very nice hotel with a cosy atmosphere and restaurant. Enjoyed the Sunday buffet with traditional Norwegian dishes like salty lamb, elk meat balls, and carrot puré which all had a delicious homemade style and flavour. The desserts selection is large with good quality of both local and global favorites. Beautifully located at the water a bit north of Evje with stunning views of the valley and sureounding mountains from the restaurant.

Base for Curtis Palmer Program Charity expedition, recommended to us by Brian Desmond.|This is the third time I’ve stayed, I cannot recommend this hotel enough. The rooms are clean, fantastic views over the Fjord. The food is off the scales, the breakfast and evening buffet is plentiful, and great quality. The staff are great, really helpful. Il be returning in March for the Hero’s of Telemark expedition.

3rd time staying there at the beginning and end of an expedition, recommended by our Fixer Mr Desmond. The Staff are friendly and are so accommodating, the rooms are clean, beds comfy and showers hot and powerful. The food is off the scale, buffets are gorgeous. Great location for our expeditions, only an hour from the airport.

Good: Nice view to the lake, authentic interior, nice not large selection but good quality and sufficient. Okey to stay one night. Parking is free of charge.||||Bad: To give realistic picture to future travellers: it’s an old hotel next to busy road (cars were driving even at 3pm at night and you can hear everything pretty loud. We were unlucky to visit when it was hot outside, hotel has close to non-existing air conditioning. We couldn’t sleep all night because of noise from road and sauna inside. Food in the restaurant is super expensive in relation to similar places.

First of all, there's another Revsnes Hotell located in Bykle, about 120 km north of this one. Our car GPS picked that one but luckily I remembered that we had to make a left turn onto Rv 9 so we changed the destination just in time.|| ||Now, this hotel has seen its prime quite a while ago. The carpeting in the halls says it all. The furniture in the room is dated. So is the bathroom. But the new panoramic windows they installed most likely recently compensate for these flaws. The view of the lake was great. I give it an extra star just for that. The staff was nice and friendly. Breakfast was very good. Also the lobby is decorated nicely with folk motifs. A good stay overall.

We recently stayed at Revsnes Hotel during our trip to Norway. The hotel was on a beautiful lake and the surrounding scenery was stunning! The trees and nearby mountains made for a beautiful backdrop. We enjoyed looking out our window from the room and during all meals. The hotel staff was phenomenal. They went above and beyond and really made us feel as though we were at home. The hotel has a very “Homelike” feel to it. It is a great place to relax and unwind after spending time in the busier cities. There are some nice nearby activities to keep you busier as well, if you choose. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at the Revsnes Hotel.

Arrived at reception… nobody there except “call this number”. After calling, a man comes out and gives the key card and says while pointing “I THINK it’s that way… ummm…. Yes… think so” We thought this was funny but soon turned worse.|As we went back to reception to enquire about where we could eat with our dog a different guy (I’ll call him Frank to keep this anonymous) said reluctantly, “you could sit there, but it’s not really allowed”|Frank then gave us forms asking exactly what we want for breakfast and at what time. Bemused, we filled in the forms and handed back to Frank, who never gave a pleasant reply.|We asked Frank about the menu but was informed only a buffet was available at just under 400nok and 15kr per year for our 9yr old son (135nok). We saw that the buffet was low on some items but looked ok.|Frank came back with his pad and said “so, that’s two adults and a 9yr old boy” we mentioned our boy just wanted a fruit salad and not pay 135nok for that, Frank said that’s the rules, which, of course, could be true but our son probably would’ve eaten half a bowl (as Easter, he was full of chocolate!)|We asked Frank for 10 minutes and in true Basil Fawlty mode, he walked away, screwing up the order paper and throwing it in the bin.|We decided to go to a restaurant in Evje (5 minutes south) and contemplated leaving the hotel to find another place but decided to bite the bullet and stay.|To be fair, the rooms (albeit a little dated) were clean.|Morning comes and we feel like we’re back in the military, knowing we put breakfast to be served at 0930 “sharp” |I walked our dog while my Mrs and son went to breakfast but couldn’t see anyone to show which table, and went to reception where… yes… Frank came back, looking really fed up and showed them to a (nice) table where the food (ordered previously) had already been placed out.|My Mrs and I then swapped so I could eat, the food was ok but we’ve never been asked the day before!|Upon checking out yes… it was again “Frank” started adding a cost of 230 for our dog (even though my booking had originally included our pet) bringing the one night to over 1700nok.||We may as well have stayed in a wooden hut a few kilometres down the road but this Fawlty Towers service will give us a good laugh and realise to never stay here again.

A lovely hotel with very friendly / welcoming staff. ||||The twin room I stayed in was well presented and the heated bathroom floor was a godsend for drying boots / ski kit.||||The food was excellent and the chef accommodating - I'm not a foody but even I recognised that the chef was very talented and I thanked him personally for his efforts.||||Amazing views, excellent conference facilities and a lovely lounge area with a large and very welcome open fire.||||Overall, I won't hesitate to stay here again, given the chance.
