Rex Hotel

A very enjoyable meal with friends. The special Christmas menu was great value and all of our meals were delicious. The dinning room was full and all the staff did a great job. A special mention to Wendy who did an excellent job of looking after us.

Our group of 15 went to the Rex Hotel to enjoy the Xmas Menu which was well priced at $30 for seniors. Expecting small meals we were delighted at the size of our "seniors" meals. The roast was scrumptious with turkey & ham & at least 5 vegetables. Desert followed & was equally as good. Either the Xmas pudding or pavlova was yummy. The staff looked after us bringing the girls cocktails to our table. Overall a 10 out of 10 experience.

We went here as a retired couple for lunch. My husband ordered the roast of the day off of the Seniors Menu and I ordered the beef schnitzel off of the main menu. After ordering our meals and drinks both arrived very quickly at our table - very prompt and quick service. The staff were friendly and attentive. My husband's roast was both plentiful (it was a Seniors meal) and delicious as was my beef schnitzel, the salad my meal came with was both very fresh and tasty. We both also ordered dessert which was also delicious. Overall a lovely pub meal. We'll be back again.

Amazing Sunday lunch experience! I’ve made it a habit of coming here when I have stopovers in Adelaide due to its location (near airport). Today we were greeted by Anthony and from leading us to our table to leaving the venue, he was a customer service maestro! The food was hearty, the service was flawless and a great time was had by all! A huge shoutout to Lisa also who went above and beyond when my chosen beer keg ran dry, just phenomenal! Great job, team 👌🏻

Fantastic meals in the Bistro. The Seniors Christmas Menu has been extremely good value. The staff are cheerful and welcoming. They check on how you are going during the meal. The staff seem very conscientious and head staff in the venue oversee everything carefully.

7 of us decided to have lunch in front bar at short notice so didnt book Showed up and the area was really busy and staff under the punt Richard, the bar manager changed tables around so we could sit together. We enjoyed a well priced meal and a few drinks and enjoyed the afternoon Thanks all for making us feel welcome Julie Abraham

I just took a group of 28 to Christmas lunch. It was delicious. ALL 28 people said how much they enjoyed their meal and what great value for money. Well done Rex. Bronwyn

Melbourne Cup lunch. Very tasteful and excellent staff attention. Cost very reasonable, wine list price to induce a second bottle. Having booked very late we were overwhelmed by what we received will be looking towards next year. Thank you to all staff

Well, I've been hammering through my reviews to try and get through all of the outstanding ones (that is the ones that I haven't posted yet) before I head off on my next adventure, and it seems that I have reached the section where I have listed all of the really bad places that I would simply not recommend. As you can guess from this intro the Rex is basically one of those places. Mind you, inner Adelaide, like many of the other cities, has been transforming, however that transformation does not appear to have hit the Rex at this time. It's been here a while, and I have frenquented this place on occasion, and honestly, very, very little has changed with the place. It certainly isn't a pub that I would recommend - it has little character, and little to make me want to come back again, especially since there are pubs that are a thousand times better in the local area.

Visited the Rex with my parents and younger siblings on a Saturday night. The staff were pretty helpful, and the atmosphere was very comfortable and country-esque. Our meals arrived really quickly, a lot faster than I expected given the place looked pretty packed! My dad and myself had the special- a 500g steak for $20 on Saturday (there are different specials each day of the week). It was really tasty, even as a non-steak person! My mother had a chicken breast dish which I tasted and was also really nice! They also have a salad bar, which is a nice change from many other restaurants these days. The salads I tried were very nice, including coleslaw, which I usually find to be really gross when anyone but me makes it! Overall it was a really nice meal out and satisfied a group of varying ages and tastes. Also, there is a quiz night on Saturday evenings that is free, and uses multiple choice questions/answer buttons at tables. We didn't stay for this, but it looked like it would've been fun!

Chats bistro ...value for money, great friendly staff, comfortable with space to move, and quiet enough to hold a conversation even when packed ... Food is always enjoyed...

When I first went into the Rex Hotel, told by a friend that we had to go there for dinner, I was very unsure. But once I was in there I was definitely sold. Having an old school country vibe, like as if I was in the local RSL back in my home town of Mildura, it has a really nice atmosphere and (if the right people are putting in the coins) good music played on the jukebox. There are also a number of pool tables, which I don't seem to find a lot of in hotel-pubs. What I was most surprised was with the quality of the chicken schnitzel I had. I mean, I know, how can you screw up a schnitzel? But this one just seemed to be amazing. The pepper gravy was really tasty without being too hot, which I really like.

This place was near my old work so was handy to go through their drive thru bottle shop sometimes and we even had a Xmas lunch here, mind you we had it in January. Pretty much just the bottleshop faces the road and you go around the back for the main entrance. There's plenty of parking on site if you do drive. The meal we had here wan't bad but it wasn't something to brag about. Just average I guess. However I have also used this Hotel for accomodation for staff we had to bring over for certain events. Their accomodation is very well priced and the rooms are fine. When I have rung to make any bookings or for any other dealings I have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Definitely offer great accomodation at fantastic prices and still very close to the city.

Lunch was mediocre at best, and our meals took quite awhile to arrive. lucky I had great company.
